  • Any problems with running lean as of your install?(or getting a check engine light)

  • im prob gonna put an cold air intake, performance headers, and some flowmaster on my f150, its gonna sound sweet

  • Do u find it harder or easier on gas bro?

  • Very Nice! I have a 97 4.6 I refuse to spend so much on an intake, rather get a stock k&n replacement..

  • WASTE OF MONEY.. I'' LIKE MOST , MADE MY OWN COLD AIR IN TAKE ; I"MADE A RUBBER BOOT 8in DIA' 20in LONG,THAT RUNS RIGHT UP TO THE GRILL;AND WILL SUCK DOWN SMALL CHILDREN AND LOW FLING AIRPLANES;BUT SERIOUS" IT WILL HOLD A PIECE OF PAPER TO THE GRILL;AND FOUND THAT I DON'T HAVE TO REV OVER 3G ;

    sgnd RR

  • @RIVERRATNODRIFTING got a pic or video?

  • @TheRockinCactus GOT PICS" FROM BEGINING TO FINISH, IT'S THE LOADING WHERE I HAVE PROBLEM'S, I HAVE A PRIVATE RE'BUILD SHOP; AND HAVE SOME PROJECTS IN BACK GROUND NOT MENT TO BE SEEN' YET" SO , I'M AT A STALL , IF YOU LIVE LaGRANGE Ky ; CAN SHOW YOU IN PERSON,THANK'S FOR RESPONCE

  • Huge waste of money. The Gotts mod is much cheaper (around $25), is 100% reverseable, and gives the same performance gains. Your exhaust should make the noise, not your intake.

  • did you notice a considerable difference in power/acceleration after installing this intake?

  • I ended up buying the CAI. Glad I did, reccomend it to anyone.

  • That was pretty awesome there bud. You should post a video on how you made the changes. That would be even better. Cool vid.

  • @TheTerminator310 so the 07+f150's run lean that's why there so slow Ford tuned them down those bastards..

  • @reesesGOTaGUN The '04 to '07 F-150s I believe are the ones that run lean. Anywhere after that was fine. Yeah, they are slow when stock. I just got a Magnaflow exhaust on my F-150 and oh my God it made a huuuuge difference. Never in my dreams would I have thought the power would have shot up like it did. But if you get a CAI in an '04 - '07 F-150, it's best to custom tune it afterwards to even the air/fuel ratio.

  • I had an intake on my last truck did not do shit to it

  • @reesesGOTaGUN probably cuase you drive like a maniac

  • Why won't it post

  • all u need to do is remove that pipe that goes to the fender and thats it

  • I got a '07 F-150, Lariat with the 5.4L Triton in it. I'm thinking of getting this intake for it, but I won't until I get it tuned. I want to let you know that the '04 - '07 or '08 F-150s with the 5.4L run lean from the factory and when you add air with an intake, it makes it run too lean. I would recommend you get a tune for this truck so no damage occurs. Not saying it will, but it might. How much did this intake cost you anyway?, if you don't mind me asking.

  • @TheTerminator310 yea but in california tuner chips are illegal and im not to car savy so idk how to exactly tune it. it costed like 200 i think but im sure you could shop around and find it cheaper

  • @swiminswimout Just gonna ask. Do you think the K&N one is better? or this Roush one that you bought?

  • @TheTerminator310 It will not run lean. Air is still metered by the MAF and air flow is still controlled by the throttle body. All an intake does is make it easier for the air to flow. When the engine works less, you get more power!

  • @TheTerminator310 i have a fuel/air guage in my 05 f150 and it ran lean till i got it tuned

  • @TheTerminator310 I have an 07 f150 too, i had the spectre intake which i would not recommend, but i just installed a k&n intake from amazon.com for 195.99, i already had the superchips flashpaq tuner and downloaded the k&n program. 37hp is what superchips claims and 15hp is what k&n claims. I can definitely tell the difference now that the truck is programmed to work with the intake. I also have custom true dual exhuast with dynomax bullets.

  • I just installed a Roush CAI on my 2004 XLT 5.4L and I can tell a big difference in the trucks get-up and go power. It sounds meaner too, I can't wait to get my Roush Off-road cat-back muffler installed next week along with my Xcal3 from Troyer.

  • sounds very nice thinking of getting one this weekend

  • @mannysanchez11 do it!

  • holy hell! i want one!!!

  • @largemouthbassrigs then go get one!

  • @swiminswimout I have the money! I just need to get a job first. Did u notice a good difference from stock to with the cai?

  • sounds like a police interceptor. sounds good!

  • @sideburns2009 haha thanks dude

  • love it. i want to save gas and i have an 04. do you recommend the cold air intake?

  • @XboxReaper417 Thanks! In my opinion, its made an huge difference. I don't think its really improved gas mileage by a lot but i can drive it harder and get the same. I would really recommend it!!

  • @XboxReaper417 I'd recomend getting one. Like swiminswimout said, you can drive a little harder and you wont suck back the gas. I really only noticed a change on the highway. I also added a helix throttle body spacer.

I wouldn't get a Roush intake though, go with an Airaid. It's the same design, but you'll save some money since you're not paying for the roush logo.

  • @Koshman32 i think airaid makes the roush one actually. also a trottle body spacer will do absolutely nothing except add weight. performance people call it a paperweight becasue thats all its good for. and any of you with a 5.4L 04-07 chck out custom tuning. the 5.4L runs slightly lean from the factory, adding an intake makes it dangerously lean. only way to correct them is from custom tuning. check out f150online forums, VMPtuning, troyer performance, and/or powerhungryperformance for info

  • @timmypstyle I'm waiting till the warranty on my truck runs out before installing a programmer. I also want to throw on a cat back exhaust system as well. I have been checking out the Gryphon on power hungry, that's looking like a good option for me.

  • @Koshman32 well you might want to take off the intake until then...the lean condition is at its worst during normal driving. when you get on it, you are adding fuel so it gets a little richer. with the intake on and no custom tuning you risk hurting your motor. troyer says only 1 intake is ok to run with the canned tunes but dont know about stock tune.

  • @timmypstyle It's been too long since I put the intake on, I no longer have the stock one sitting around. Plus being under warranty still, I'll be alright.

  • @timmypstyle : The AIRAID / Roush system has been fully calibrated and does not cause the vehicle to run lean. Don't group all systems together. I am sure it's very possible with kits that have ZERO engineering, but the AIRAID / ROUSH system does not fall under that category.

  • @scsamark according to the people who specialize in tuning f150s, if it doesnt cause a lean condition, the airflow is the same as stock. if it is same as stock, there is no extra power except for it getting thru the high flow filter a little easier. pretty much just put a K&N drop-in into it and thats the same as the CAI that doesnt cause the lean conditon. lean condition happens on all slot-style mass airflow sensored f150s no matter what engine it is.

  • @timmypstyle : Who are these "Tuners"? Most Ford customers are cheap and purchase cheap products, and a poorly engineered system could cause a CEL, but the Airaid / Roush system does not. Do some research before spouting off. What is it with Forum people thinking they know it all, yet having zero evidence to back up the claim....

  • @scsamark troyerperformance, vmptuning, powerhungryperformance, just to name a few. troyer is the one with the most info about tuners for f150s. or look on f150forums. plenty of info on there. feel free to ask about what i posted.

  • @timmypstyle : Throttle body spacers serve their purpose on certain applications. To dismiss them on all applications and call them "Paper weights" sounds like a typical uneducated forum guy response. On some applications they would great and on others they do not, no different than any other modification.

  • @scsamark no seriously, a throotle body spacer adds like 1 inch and is threaded in such a way that the air is moving to fast to spin like they say it does. 99% of the applications for the spacers do nothing. go to a good performance shop and ask them what a throttle body spacer will do. they will tell you it just adds weight(hence paper weight).

  • @timmypstyle : Again, you a making an ignorant blanket statement, but coming from a forum guy thats what I would expect.. Some spacers work great on certain applications. I am not going to keep arguing with somebody who has no education on performance part's. Have you ever used a spacer on any vehicle you have ever driven?? Ask the 4.0L Jeep guys if they make a difference?
