  • Even I do like Dr Dre, Ben folds raised the bar a notch

  • What in the Holy Ghost's smoldering orifice is a protung? It sounds like fucking antimatter or something.

    Ben has very attractive eyes.

  • it's just fucking hilarious if you ask me

  • who the fuck is ben folds?

  • @MrCBLOCK36 he's a fucking beast is who. Google it. Urban Dictionary will say Ben Folds: A fucking beast.

    But really he's a singer songwriter/piano player/ producer/ and other stuff.

  • Ben Folds is better. I'm not a Dre fan anyways. I'm picky when it comes to rap artists.

  • the attitude is proper on the original version. Cover version conveys melancoly and sadneed maybe regret tho I cant seem to get anger or hate from the tone of bens voice which i feel there should be a little.

  • @Projectmesa But thats why its so amazing, because he is so soft about it haha!

  • @niall987 I know I was responding to awesomesauce, its hard to convey sarcasm via keyboard

  • The Ben Folds guy? Like he is just a random person...lame...both are cool.

  • @steagle9 random? em.. well... not really...

  • no matter how much he wants to try and make it work the ben folds guy just cant do it

  • he co wrote the f thing with Dre you gotta check your facts

  • Comment removed

  • @killface93 actually i like it cause its ironic. its a guy cursing the shit out of a bitch but while being both casual and classy

  • i like both...ooohhhh what the fuck yall niggas gonna do now???like if you agree

  • ben fold's cover is great because its ironic

dre's version is great because the beat is sick as fuuuck

    so stfu errbody

  • @esperantomusica Your just fucking dumb

  • @Majora99 yeah i get that a lot,thank you,son.

  • Comparing the two are like comparing apples and pineapples. I do like Ben's better because it's an intriguing arrangement played with real instruments instead of simply putting words over pushed buttons and loops. Check out Ben doing the song live in Nashville in an intimate setting.

  • @00Ploppy Maybe, but they both have apples in them. e.o

  • ben folds is the best

  • The music in Dre's is better....Dre's production skills are great

  • lick on these nuts, and suck on the dick.

  • I like both.

  • ben folds way better

  • Personally i think Ben's version is better just because it makes me laugh, a white dude talking about snoop n shit. And the first time i listened to it i was....... influenced atm.....

  • Bitches can't hang with teh streetz...

  • ben folds is one smooth motherfucker

  • i like ben folds version better; it's much more relaxing.

  • Why is everybody arguing about who's version is better, some like dr. dre's version better and some like Ben Folds' version better. Music is something you shouldn't argue about, because the thing that makes music so f*cking cool is you can like what you want to like, and there's enough diversity in music for anyone to like something.,,

  • Real conversation fo' yo ass!!!!

  • Ben Folds is 20x better....

  • Ben folds!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ben's is better. He found time in his busy day to write a melody.

  • you guys are too close mnded.. i like the nasty ghetto ass version and the fucking classy piano piece one as well... ya'll niggas need to diversify and stop being ignorant

  • @killface93 dam right music is music yo. Music is diversity live and love it nigga.

  • @killface93 I admit I don't care for the rap version. But I acknowledge that it is technically good.

  • @killface93 Agreed!!

  • Although it's pointless to argue over which one's better (most Dr. Dre fans will probably hate Ben Folds' cover, and vice versa), Ben folds' cover made me listen to the song (and made me LMAO, of course)! I wouldn't have listened to the original, without it.

  • @screwyootube1 I was the opposite. I wouldn't have listened to Ben Folds' without Dre's lol

  • Ben Folds!!!! Makes it sound like a nice story, not all nasty ghetto sounding. And Ben Folds just does amazing covers. Check out "Sleazy" by Ke$ha, covered by Ben Folds. It's all a fantastic ironic re-interpretation by someone with actual talent!

  • Ben Folds is way better. The original version is just aggressively nasty. Seriously, the guys are singing about what vile, disgusting human beings they are, and we're supposed to be excited about that? Blow me. But when you set the lyrics against some beautiful piano music with gentle, matter-of-fact vocal delivery, the ridiculousness of the contemporary gangster rap scene springs into relief. The whole gangster thing is

  • @CaptainSiberia just an act put on by pathetic people who fantasize about gang violence and misogyny because they're idiots.

  • @CaptainSiberia look. if you think this is "contemporary gangster rap" you are completely wrong. "Bitches Aint Shit" was an original bonus track in the classic rap album "The Chronic". The Song was more a fast paced song to end the album on, and was sarcastic by all my standards. While I do not believe that the views in the song are correct, they made a hit on one of the greatest rap albums of all time. If you do not like, nor listen, to the music, then you are in no position to criticize

  • Dre and Snoop win of course, they put it bluntly and all in the bitches faces while Ben makes it a little bit more tolerable for them, fuck that, no disrespect Ben but you have to put it to these bitches bluntly!!!!!!! lol

  • e-Z E!

  • Ben Folds.

Btw all you haters who hate him, he's being funny.

  • Personally I prefer dre's version, the beat is faster, more aggressive and just appeals to me more.

Ben's version is too slow and the piano doesn't flow with the lyrics at all imo.

  • I heard Coolio wrote and produced the original, than it was covered by McCartney and finally provided to Dre by Krist Novoselic... Of course, that's just what I heard.

  • Ben Folds wins, hands down

  • Holy hell, the dre song sounds like shit

I don't know what that weird instrument (with the sustained high note) is in the background, but it's hardly been a minute and I already can't stand it.

  • Ben wins :)

  • Ben Folds took this song, took it out to dinner once in a while, took it to the park, introduced it to his parents, stayed at home some late nights with it, and eventually told it he loved it. And you know what the song did?

It made Ben a fucking sandwich. What up.

  • @iloveyou141496 I accidently gave this comment a "thumbs down" I actually quite enjoy this comment. lol.

  • @iloveyou141496 hands down greatest comment on youtube to date! Kudos...

  • ben folds is better

  • i personally enjoy ben folds version but at the same time Dr. Dre's version makes you feel like a true badass... so i think i'd make a better version! jk

  • snoops a real g.

  • ben folds is better

  • ben folds bitches

  • I'm a big fan of both... how can you even compare the two? they're two completely genres.

  • Every comment in this mother fucker

"HURR DURR If you don't prefer the one I like you don't 'get' music"

Shut the fuck up you retards.

One is a pop version and one is a hip hop version. Saying one version is better than the other is tantamount to saying you prefer one genre over the other.

  • I love how all these people are saying that ben folds version is stupid. It just so happens that that's the whole point. He's making fun of his whiteness by covering a rap song. It's funny. lay off the hate. And Dre's version is more fitting to the lyrics for the simple reason that he's the artist that made them. Not everything has to be a competition. Ben folds is more musical, Dre is more meaningful. shit. these bitches.

  • @J8Dust8 @SoyElta You two are absolutely correct. I'm starting to hate the commenters on YouTube [& most 'net commenters in general] FAR more than any musician, actor, or even Y-Tube vLoggers. I may not always care for them personally, but atleast they actually TRY to contribute. Seriously, everyone has their own preferences. I don't know how many times I've said this & the people who see my YTube comments linked to my MySpace & FaceBook accounts know this. But we need to live & let live.

    $han3

  • i don't consider anyone that raps a musician unless they play an musical instrument ( A MAC with garage band doesn't count) , therefore i think ben folds versions is a lot better, only Dr Dre fans would like that shit.

  • sounds like the bitches CAN handle the streets D: !! bleergrh *throws up*

  • fuck that benn folds dr.dre fuck everyone biatch

  • i like em both equally:) ben folds version is more funny and works best when its live, while the original works best playing in your car while "rollin down the street."

  • Ben Folds' version is far superior. But I'm glad Dre tried to do the song, too, Dre's is pretty good.

  • white boys need to stop doing stupid shit like this dr. dre is 100 times better so fuck this ben folds fag

  • @DJJOHNYE707 Yeah, that's totally not racist.

  • @DJJOHNYE707 are you even a real dj shut your mouth bitch

  • they are both right... bitches ain't shit )))

  • You people saying Ben folds version is better are smoking crack. And you look really stupid saying this is better.

  • @joejones statistically speaking, i'm pretty sure Dre fans are more likely to smoke crack.

  • @jmorris724

    *Scratches head*

    Ok. if you say so.

  • thumbs up if you think Ben Folds is better

  • Hes right bitches aint shit but hoes and tricks, thank you ben folds i know understand

  • i like both bens version made me laugh my ass off

  • ben folds sounds better but honetly you cant fuck wit the beat of dre's

  • The original is better... but Ben covers a rap song in non-rap fashion about as well as anybody could ask for. But with the original, Dre knocks the beat out of the park and both him and Snoop deliver great verses... Ya know, the only reason why Ben Folds covered it in the first place.

  • You guys are hilarious. Not seeing the humor in these lyrics that sound like they were written by a grade 7 virgin is very telling.

  • Do any of the rap fans here understand that Ben's version is a parody? He just wanted to make a musical version of a rap song for the sake of comedy...

  • @BrighamHB lol. i think ppl don't get that.

  • Well the song is the worst song in history imo but ben folds is better.

  • @DSkin01 are u stupid blud ??? this is a diss for eazy-e what tha fuck has ben fold to do with him ???

    DICKHEAD !!

  • @DSkin01 Are you retarded? Dre came first by almost 20 years.

  • @TreePuncherLP

go look up "sarcasm" and "humor" and maybe then you can get a clue in life. Don't take everything so literally wtf man you punching trees with your head or what?

  • @TreePuncherLP

Are you retarded? It was a joke.

  • @DSkin01

    you are a moron

  • @DSkin01 thats hilarious

  • i like dre's better fuck off ben fold is shit

  • @Jackramento Too right.

  • I don't think Ben Folds selected the right verses from the original, I mean he didn't know Eric Wright and he's dead now anyway so they shouldn't keep hanging shit on him. Plus its funny (but not ha ha funny) that he's singing about coming from Compton.

The two verses he didn't cover would have been better choices, they are all about their relationships with their hoes and their '90s pagers, its very deep:

"...To the store, to get me a 4-0

Snoop Doggy Dogg paged, that must mean more hoes"

  • dre's version: get over it, im moving on

ben folds: emotional heartbroken side of bitch wrath

  • The Dre version is the greatest masterpiece in music since Beethoven's 9th Symphony.

  • @Frusciantefan77 Agreed

  • people who say ben dickheads version are preppy gay white faggots and the ones who think he wrote this are complete retards

  • @HitThisShitMan calm down, dre's version is shit.

  • @Raagzz1 ben folds is a homo and the only way hes in the industry is becuase he sucks dick listen to rap this shit is terrible

  • @HitThisShitMan Ben Folds wasn't trying to make a serious piece of music,

he just thought it would be funny to take rap lyrics and put it over cheesy piano music, just because the two don't go together at all. Get it? It's a joke.... he's not insulting rap music, If anything he's poking fun at himself. Also, "the only way he's in the industry" is because he's a good musician with a sense of humour, not because "he sucks dick". Seriously, everyone you don't like isn't a homosexual. Grow up.

  • @BrighamHB is it weird that i actually like the ben folds version lol

  • @HitThisShitMan seriously man people are so dumb these days

  • @BrighamHB not that theres anything wrong with homos ı

    .◄

  • @BrighamHB I thought he was serious. I thought he took these lyrics seriously, and put them in a way we could appreciate musically.

  • @HitThisShitMan Some of us actually prefer to listen to people with musical ability.

  • Is it just me, or is Ben Folds just Gordon Freeman without a goatee?

  • HE SAID NIGGAS!

  • i thought this song was about ben folds life :p

  • I <3 Ben Folds

  • i like the Dre version better.

Ben lovers, go ahead and thumbs down me and insult me all you want, I just like the Dre version better.

  • @MexicanRockerChick

You're valued to your opinion kind sir! I like the A Capella version by the college students better than Ben Folds version but I'm sure most people disagree with me.

  • Ben, hands-down.

  • B. Folds fo da win!!!!

  • I declare ben folds the winnnaa!

  • Ben is a beast.... Pimpinest pimp out son lol

  • those of you who say Ben Folds' version is better are biased towards anything that isn't your contemporary alternative rock/indie scene.

    your loss.

of course the Ben Fold's musical discography is above the rest of our intellectual grasp. What would g-funk fans know about real music, right?!

I can say this because I enjoy B.F.F.

    and this song as well.

But I'm also a Dre fan.

    Diversify your music...

  • dres version came out first!! but there both good

  • ben folds all the way

  • the part where they cuss is funny

  • Ben Folds is so boss XD

  • dre not even close to be good at this songg

  • @TheAndriy17 dumb ass, the song is originally dr. dre's. ben folds version is a cover, so all it did was made dr. dre more money.

  • Ben Folds def better, Dre's version is just insulting and demeaning. Ben brings this to the forefront just by singing the song as one of the most non-gangster singers there is. From him it becomes satire.

  • @Fantsmacle you're afraid of black people. You fuckin' pussy.

  • @SeriouslyPissedOff I think you missed the point of my post. I was commenting about the degrading way that women are presented in the song as objects and/or worse. I wasn't commenting on the music or the singers, but on the terribly written song. The themes of relegating women to mere sex objects and other negative traits is brought to the fore by a goof like Ben Folds singing the song. For you to bring race into this is cowardly and pathetic. I thought we were beyond that, I guess not.

  • @Fantsmacle You claim the lyrics are only okay when sung by a white artist who makes it seem satire. You're a dick dude. Because you hate rap, dr. dre, and most likely all black people, you talk shit. Using the phrase 'degrading to women' automatically gets you a boot in the ass. I thought we were beyond that. I guess not.

  • @SeriouslyPissedOff oh, shit I accidentally thums uped you. Ignore that, because you're wrong. Rap music loves the dick and so do you.

  • @SeriouslyPissedOff oh, shit I accidentally thumbs up'd you. Ignore that, because you're wrong. Rap music loves the dick and so do you. The lyrics of the song are ridiculously poorly written.

  • @Joshykins99 Haha! Thanks for the thumbsup faggot!

  • @SeriouslyPissedOff dont use words like satire, that bitch below cant understand big words like that lol jk

  • @asian4life321 Ahahah truth

  • @asian4life321 satire is six letters, not even big? lol

  • dre day everyday

  • ben folds took a shit on dres song and made it better

  • Ben Folds took a crappy rap song and turned into a classic...it even made me like the original a little better...

  • Ben's is definitely better

  • I LIKE BEN,, BUT DRE DOES IT ALOT BETTER,,,

  • lmao WTF

  • so who made this song first?

  • @beltran1690 Dr. Dre in '92....

Shouldn't be too hard to guess :D

  • Wait guys, Ben Folds made this song in the 80s, its his song originally, but he didn't patent the song, so it isn't technically his, but he made it

  • @ShisNoLaCosaNostra no im prety sure it was Dre and Snoop dog that made the original...hence the lyric "Dre pass the Glock" and the part where he refers to him self as Snoop, snoopy, ect.

  • 3:43

  • Ben actually gave it some structure.

  • ben folds is like 100x better

  • How is Ben joking?

He's just singing it in a different style. You just don't take him seriously because he white. Racist!

  • @nvmimfine99 The joke is that these extremely harsh and vulgar and (frankly) meaningless lyrics are put to namby-pamby, light, easy piano music. It's a joke of juxtaposition.

  • The original is always better then the copy

  • Ben really gives it some melody

  • ben folds version is soooo much better.. love him!

  • Ben Folds is so much better it's not even funny.

  • Ben Folds song is funny...but the original is 100 times better...it is meant to be done in that style....I would bet anything that Ben Folds would agree.

  • @abehutson i doubt that...I think Dre and Snoop dog should hand over the rights, he turned their shitty song into a badass hit....

  • Dr. Dre's version is shit compared to Ben Folds but hey thats my opinion

  • Is it just me or Ben Folds' version better?

  • @Pwnzistor its just you man..lol
