shmuel wanted bruno to help him to find his papa who had been missing for several days. bruno wanted to explore and to meet other children. had any of you, who are so fast to critisize, read the book? there is beautifully described the uncomprehention of bruno of what is really going on. he had no idea what it meant to be jew or what the camp is about. the mother there is rather different is well. I would highly recommend the book.
at the end, all i could think about was how those two innocent boys died holding each other's hand, how both of them where still so young and naive to the world. i cried so hard thinking about how after, all those bodies are just going to be trashed into a hole. a hole.. two eight-year-old boys, piled together with the others who didn't deserve to die.
I'm sorry but i still don't know how the world let this go on.. it's people like us who where people like them; & vice-versa.
This is one of the most sad movies in the world and the Nazis tried to deny all of it as if it never happened?! Really look at the survivor's arm they have the memories stuck with them forever from this terrible event. It is terrible what they did.

I don't think that Schmuel did not try to take Bruno to die with him, because he didn't know that he would die in that room. He just thought that was taking bath. Bruno Mom would have never hidden Schmuell because he's a jew, She did not even want the jew seeing to Bruno hurt knee, She thanked him but did it in such a unsatisfying manner like thank you and i really don't want to have nothing to do with you jew.
