Thank you so much for the nice comment and from half way around the world. I had to look up where Brunei was located. Now I have learned something new. It must be a very pretty place. jud
I've gotta say this, I'm a big fan of country music and music performed with the pedal steel guitar, it's just great, by the way, this greetings are coming from Mexico City.
Glad you like it! I love living in the South, I have lived in Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and now Virginia. One is as great as the other. Thanks for your comments, Jud
Please don't feel sorry. Here in the Southern part of the U.S. we are proud to be called a Redneck. We put Redneck bumper stickers on our pick-up trucks. Ever hear the song "I'm a Redneck Girl"? It's all good stuff. You did nothing wrong. I call myself a Redneck. We like to be called that down here. Thanks again, Jud
Great version Carterpicker! I have added my Freddy Fender version of Wild Side of Life. See you two-steppin at some truck stop some night. Johnny Pal of MangoDaville
Thanks a lot for your comment! I like your video very much, you do a great Freddy Fender. I remember Freddy very well, he had some top hits in his time. Jud
I wouldn't say I'm a genius but I appreciate the kind words. Takes a lot of practice but it is very rewarding when it starts to come together. Good luck. Jud
great steel playing jud. your great. I HAVE TO PUT MINE ON Y TUBE SOON. keep it up. by the way where did you get that nice shirt i like it.you look like an old southern boy. iam from pa.
Glad you liked the song and the shirt. I got the shirt from a catalog a few years ago, not there any more. I am in the SE corner of VA, Virginia Beach. PA is nice, I liked Hershey, PA. Thanks again, Jud
Excellent! I shouldn't watch this though, it makes me sad that I traded the 'Bud in 1981for a banjo. I hate top 40 country, as soon as Garth Brooks hit the charts that was it. Good to see you are keeping the heart and soul of country music alive! There's nothing like the sound of a pedal steel (unless it's a banjo- ha ha). Good luck and keep picking!
Thanks Allen. Not much left of the good old country music except for what we have in our heads and on our old 33's and 45 records. I love banjo pickin' and I play around with my dobro a bit. Thanks again, Jud
Yes, I believe he did play it. I first heard this song in the 50's by Hank Thompson. It was a great hit then. You have a very nice web site and you play the steel very good. If I had played like that at 16 I would be a star today. Keep up the great work. Jud
Nice playing. I bought a left handed steel from WBS in Germany last year and I am slowly learning how to p[lay, but I've a few years to go to catch up to you!!!
Thank you very much, Jud

Well thank you very much for the comment but I don't think American Idol takes Ole Men like me. Jud

lmfao, well it's sorta sad that they take crappy people on instead of really good people. You never know.

I really admire your play.
I started playing pedal steel in January, and I have much to learn.
I learn a lot from watching your clips! Keep uploading, and keep it country :)
Best regards Morten, Norway

Less reverb and delay would make your notes clearer...
You play great... the effects are really covering your talent.
sfcharr 4 years ago
Thanks and you are right about the effects. I used an RCA Small Wonder for the video and I think it picked up too much audio even though
I had the volumn turned way down.
