@1915fas Thanks for your mention, and good luck with your Gordon imitations! I've always thought he was one of the finest singers of the '50s. Please keep in touch, and very good to hear from you!
@varadero1839 Yes, I became interested in imitating Gordon when I heard the then new digitally remastered CD of Oklahoma on the radio. I had been imitating Sinatra for years but wondered what it would be like to produce a big, rich lyric baritone like Gordon's.
@1915fas Thanks 2x! Any chance we might be hearing something from you? I'm thinking some of those "imitations" should have been recorded, and I'd be honored to hear them! Also, thanks once again for writing.
@bubbbb0 The pairing of these two amazing performers makes "us" the real winners! Thanks so much for your comment, and I'm really happy that you liked this clip!
@moshn2002 mosh, great to hear from you, and I'm glad you liked this! The original stage production had many more songs than were seen in this filmed version. It's a beautiful score, by Sigmund Romberg.
I wish I had the audio of this...its available with Gordon MacRae singing but with some other woman and frankly it doesn't do justice this version with Kathryn Grayson
@havilland18 I remember having an LP of this when I was very young. The lady in question is/was Lucille Norman. The album was great, but nothing compared to what these 2 performed here. Thanks so much; happy to hear from you!
@FlaxenHairedBeauty Thanks so much for your comment! Ms. G is one of my favorites also. If she's not been recognized as such, it's not for my lack of trying! Great to hear from you!
Was Gordon MacRae a classically trained tenor? His voice and style sounds operatic here. Great performance.

I have always loved The Desert Song. How beautifully it is done by Kathryn Grayson and Gordon MacRae!! Bless you for sharing.

@norcross124 You're welcome! The score is so lovely, and even better as it's performed by these two at the height of their talents.

Funny, the MALE had his face covered, the female NOT! Guess we have some kind of cultural divide here... LOL!

I always love to hear these two greats. Romanticising about the desert? Try it today. Boy, we sure messed that up.

@havilland18 You're probably thinking of the CD of Sigmund Romberg songs with Dorothy Kirsten whom I happened to like.

Kathryn's my favorite film singer...Her voice is absolutely beautiful! It's a shame she isn't more recognized for it or her acting.
