I believe the idea behind bilking is this. As you bulk naturally the majority of weight gained is going to be fat. The idea behind it is that by having excessive weight (fat) provides your body with the ability to lift more weight since the force/momentum or mass behind the weight your trying to push is larger or closer to that weight. In turn, you are able to lift heavier weights which results in larger muscle size.
The idea is to make sure you have ample resources to gain muscle. If your body has more fat on it it is likely to use 100% of what it needs to build muscle. If you are lean and you are burning as much as you take in your body will avoid growth. Meaning it might build less mass knowing that mass takes fuel to function.
I think the biggest problems you have right now are two things. Your age and overworking out. Seriously lift heavier and take more than weekends off
@MyMantenna Thanks for the advice. Due to lots of people telling me to lift heavier, I'm going to try to do around 3 sets of 8 reps with as much weight as possible for each exercise.

Now the way you know how many calories you need in order to gain weight you have to multiply your current weight times 17 to 20 EXAMPLE lets say you weight 140x17=2380 so you need 2380 calories daily in order to start gain muscle mass weight. you also have to eat the right food and even dough you can eat junk food once a week if your having trouble reaching your daily caloric intake to help out. if anymore question i will be glad to help - musclectavio17

of course but you cannot gain just muscle itself dough..with MUSCLE will also come some fat, depending on what you are eating regarless bulking mean that you have to go on a caloric surplus which means eating enough calories in order to gain muscle

So I suggest you eat excess calories and keep reps 8-10 for mass building. You need to add on size. I know you like your abs but once you bulk THEN you can cut and you'll be way leaner and bigger. Go bulk and don't be scared of it cause you won't get massive or fat.
theres no easy way. my friend. As long as your eating quality foods and getting in your macros you should be fine.. Some of us recommend scooby, I will tell you to follow NWB nick wright or Matt Ogus. Two of the best teens I've witness on here that knows what the hell there talking about. But you have to bust yo ass to train like theres no tomorrow! Put a hurt on that weight Bro
but for u my dude, id deff bulk and not worry bout gettin fat due to ur body type its gonna really b hard for u to gain fat so dont stress it, carbs is what can get u fat.....
im currently bulking right now been doin a really clean bulk for like 5-6 months, not sure if u jus started lifting but usually the newbies at weight training really dont need to bulk cause the newbies put on mass really fast than sumione whos been training for 3 years, bulking is jus having a high carb diet and a calorie surplus meaning ur eating more calories than what ur body requires,cutting is where u SLOWLY cut ur calories and lower ur carbs to show off ur definitions N get redy for a show
