UFO and remote mind reading/manipulation technology was developed by the nazis by the end of WW2 without any alien help. : there is an extreme criminal orgonizaiton working withing high ranks of the US military waging psychological against the general population pretending to be extradimensional aliens and/or angelic and demonic forces often using holograms.
is every character oing to be gay from now on? maybe jim and bob are trying to tell us something. those names would fit together very well on a certificate
Whereas comedy - like art - is subjective and cannot be said to be funny this or funny that, I agree that Michael McIntyre is a fuckwad of the highest calibre. His perpetual smug face is begging for a fist and he lost his tiny, tiny sliver of artistic credibility when he became a judge on whatever the fuck that shit programme is that he now presides as judge on. This opinion was brought to you by Science, so cannot be refuted.
I say to all those who don't like vic and bob- Why the fuck click on this and bitch you don't like it you? fuck off elsewhere. I clicked on it cos i like vic and bob.
These V&B snippets are certainly always welcome but, let's be serious, they're not ground breaking and I get the impression that they could make this stuff up in a matter of minutes (unlike their fantastic 'Catterick'). McIntyre is fairly awful and family friendly - agreed. Coogan's 'Mid Morning Matters' is a division or two above 'Afternoon Delights' - that's my 10p worth anyway! Regardless, I hope Fosters keeps stuff like this coming. :-)
@guderian455 If you don't mind my saying, Coogan's Alan Partridge makes you feel a bit sorry for the character which I know is intentional - 'back in the day' it worked because you got the thrill of 'oh my God how much worse /more embarrassing can it get. Now it's a little bit tiresome whereas Vic and Bob give you a 3D unpredictable joyousness feeling. Just by the by I met Coogan once, he's a nice bloke and that but his handshake was like shaking hands with a 10 year old girl.
I've loved Vic and Bob for years, they can be up there with anyone for me. Have to say, however, that I haven't found any of these to be that funny really, which is a shame for me. Flamers needn't bother replying because I do love them both dearly, I'm just wondering if anyone else feels the same?
Genius. Only these two can make me laugh so much. In that great league including Steve Coogan and Billy Connolly (though of course in a completely different genre of comedy I know) I am 18 and completely view both of these men as icons. If everyone just took themselves less seriously, and the stuck up society around us, then we'd all just get by better. We need a regular tv series with Vic and Bob to NEVER go off and on. As much as I love these, they deserve the best slots for a brand new show!
when you start intellectualising (had to look that up in a vietnamese dictionary) about comedy, you 've just told everyone you haven't got a sense of humour... or smell.
lol So you don't find shooting stars funny? what about vic's virtual reality machine with gordon burns or the cockney walkabout?? i must admit big night out was amazing, novelty island, any booooze 4 baaaaby, cant give a baby booze, gary cheeseman (off fast show) LES, THE PONDERERS, NAH HONESTLY MATE I WAS 10 WHEN I WAS WATCHING BIG NIGHT OUT, FUCKING STICKS IN YA HEAD ! feeling disappointed that V & B trying to get laughs with gay jokes, its pretty sad they have to stoop that low. Arguing about the shape of the UFO "would you be willing to compromise", now that's funny, not hilarious, but funny
@biffthesortie I think pointlessly putting a civil partnership in is purely trying to get a laugh out of being gay. Why else put it in? Not exactly an incisive social commentary, that sketch?
@parashorea It's exactly the same as a sketch in which one character says to the other 'We're off catch some fish' when they're playing the part of two fishermen. It's just part of the characters they're playing, Don't worry about it too much.
@parashorea By the gay joke you mean them saying that they were having a civil partnership? Im not sure how anyone could take offense at that. I dont think the joke is in two men wanting a civil partnership, its just a funny partnership. I am a homosexualist myself and wouldnt stop anyone being silly about sexuality.
@wearemadeofstars81 OK, not a gay joke as such in this one, but in the previous one (glass blowers) its purely getting laughs out of gay sex. I don't think that's right. Why bother putting the civil partnership in here? Seemed to me they were just saying "its funny cos its gay".
@parashorea they've been doing the 'gay jokes' for years. In The Smell Of Vic couldn't believe that two men might kiss. It was silly, a silly joke where he pretended he had no concept of something. Now we have a joke where two people bickering and unable to agree which confection an UFO resembled are revealed as a couple, planning to wed. They are mismatched, but perfect for each other. It's hardly gayist is it? As for glassblowers, in their mouths the word 'balls' is funny. I like their balls.
@IAMPLEDGE and wearing Simon and Garfunkle disguises out of context is not yet illegal. Not their funniest creations, but a hell of a lot funnier than the nothing the BBC has paid them to do outside of Shooting Stars since Bang Bang.
@IAMPLEDGE Agreed!!! ....need more Big Night Out, Smell of Reeves & Mortimer, Bang Bang and Catterick type stuff from them!!! ...ditch Shooting Stars mainstream crap!!
@billybadbrakes No, no and thrice nay! No need to ditch Shooting Stars, which is brilliant in its own right, but Vic and Bob should be able to do more of these sketches without shoehorning them into the clips round of the quiz or mucking about with a small budget for Foster's. It's a bit like Rob Brydon ending up being 'known' as the bloke in the Crunchy Nut adverts, as opposed to being Rob Brydon from Human Remains.
@IAMPLEDGE hey this is fuckin mad i wrote this comment above WITHOUT looking at yours on my kids life !, and you have basically written the same hahahaha i found it amazing dunno why lol
@IAMPLEDGE You are kidding right?! ..8th series of shooting stars, everyone's got the joke, bought the t-shirt and supped out of the mug by series 2!! Six series too many IMHO! ...and since when did a big budget = good comedy?!?! ...nothing spent on Big Night Out and it and it blew all commers out of the water when it surfaced in 1990! ; )
@billybadbrakes No, I'm not kidding. I'll leave that to Vic and Bob on this occasion. Shooting Stars has a very different joke now to the one when it started and I still like it. There is absolutely no way it is a case of six series too many. And for the record I didn't say big budget = good comedy.
@IAMPLEDGE Different Joke?? I'd be interested in hearing exactly what that is?! ..I thought it was same old, same old ...take 6 celebs and baffle/embarrass them with obscure references and avant garde humour?! ...and for the record, you said "mucking about with a small budget", suggesting that top notch comedy couldn't be made on a shoestring! ...which, as we all know is BS : )
@billybadbrakes come onnnnnn ive watched vic and bob since i was 10, big night out, reeves & mortimer etc, there all great but you can't ditch shooting stars it was brilliant especially with george dawes ! They now put shit on the telly like keith lemon's celebrity juice which i don't find one bit funny at all.

There is still a glimmer of the old magic, but this is very raw. Some editing would help. More prep. , DEFINITELY. That said, they are the greatest things to come out of British comedy since Cook and Moore.
I would say 1-3 were half decent heavily improvised but edited sketches, but despite being a huge fan for many years, episodes 4-6, despite raising the odd chuckle have been pretty poor.
There may be more authenticity to this clip than first appears. Many years back in 1968, I was lucky enough to attend a Pink Floyd gig where they recorded their album 'Umma Gumma' in Mothers nightclub, Erdington, Birmingham, England. Half way through the set och um oc ach oc cak och icha... oc ac ok ic tuka... Michael Nesmith... oc.. Elephant Parts.
@the01lionman i imagine by your last statement you are the 'kind of person' that would be into other shit like Glee as well....Michael Mcintwat is the worst form of comedian - he walks backwards and forwards pointing out the obvious and shouting like the middle class stuck up prick he is.. a second rate peter kay impersonator - not original - does your dad know your using his computer?!
the fact that they probably had to just make stuff up in a hurry just for fosters would explain some of these sketches being crap. I don't doubt in the slightest that if they had the time/budget or were doing these as previews for a new series, the standard would be much better, or poorer, depending on your opinions. Either way, It'll take a hell of a lot more than a crap 3 or so minutes of sketches to to think any less of these LEGENDS and they countless YEARS they've brought happiness to me.
