Great job on your video! Wanted you to know I posted it in my Facebook group called Songs of Strength. If you're a facebooker, love for you to join us for more like this, especially on Sundays!
@rogersbullitt white heart was doing a concert in montana sometime back in the late 80s I think and one of the band members girlfriend commited suicide while they were performing, after the concert when the band found out what happened the lead singer I believe it was went walked up a big hill,watched the sun set and wrote this song.
Many may not know that this song was written as a dedication to the Kelly Jewell family. Kelly was a student at Taylor University in Upland, IN and tragically committed suicide. Rick Florian, Whiteheart's lead singer (not on this song however) graduated from Taylor and possibly knew the Kelly (not sure).
This song and your excellent video depiction contains an unexplainable yet powerful way of bringing my focus back on Christ amidst all the craziness around me. Thank you!
There is an internet station that plays alot of 70's,80's,90's and some current Christian music and comedy upperroomradio d o t com!! Check it out and tell me what you think!! I ran across it and love it!!
The cruxifiction of Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews, is very graphic, bloody, horrific. Sometimes this momentous event is difficult to comprehend. And, it is indeed shocking - in contrast to the beautiful, lush landscapes and wondrous mountain ranges. Yet, it's somewhat ironic. His death brought life to us...eternal life. By His historic murder on a cross so many years ago, the Son of God made Heaven available to us. *Heaven is Paradise.* Montana Skies forever and ever!!!!!!!
Wow. I discovered this song way back in '89 or '90, early in my Christian life. Used to listen to it all the time but didn't understand it's meaning - not having paid much attention to the lyrics in the verses, or experienced that much in life yet.
Just heard this again for the first time in at least 10 yrs, looked up the lyrics and also read many of the comments and how this song has "been there" for so many, I'm amazed at how much depth and meaning is in this song.
This is one of my favorite of all time christian songs. It helped me when I went through an ectopic pregnancy and later when I was also abandoned by my husband. Bless you for posting this with such a beautifully fitting video to boot! May this song reach and touch others.
I saw whiteheart with my wife aug 28th 1992 she left me with our 3 babies the next day. I have been a single dad every since. what can i say except this band is amazing the singer was one of the road crew and tried out when the first singer had to leave. Desert rose was relaesed as desert storm was underway. Wow God was there with these guys and they still are touching hearts today. Rock on
Hello! I'm from Puerto Rico and I'm a big fan of Whiteheart tell me how I can get this beautiful video! God touch my heart through this video! Thanks so much for this awsome video! God Bless!!!
BTW, the 80's was two whole decades ago, you know! you think we're still justified in calling this stuff Contemporay Christian Music? Maybe we need a new genera, like Adult Contemporary Christian Music or something else... just a thought...
PPS: If that thought scares you in the least, look for "living long enough to live forever" on google. More good stuff on my site: phillip-blair(dot)com
I have been looking for this song for weeks now! I couldn't remember the name of the group, I ran the lyrics I could remember through google, COULD NOT FIND IT! I was here surfing awhile ago, when something just said to me "look for it here". I put in "montana sky" and *Boom!* the very first result! Thank you very much for taking the trouble to make this, bro!

This is the most beautiful song I've ever heard.. Is the name of the song "montana sky" ? Or is that just the name from the movie?

@CeceForHim
It is the name of the song. Has nothing to do with a movie.
