Why is Light a complete asshole? (Spoilers, if you didn't watch the whole series yet) 1. He drove his Dad to his own death. 2. Sayu was traumatized because of everything. 3. Fucked over Rem 4. Didn't care for Misa 5. Didn't care for Takada-san 6. Killed thousands of people 7. Killed Ray Penbar 8. Killed Naomi with pure enjoyment 9. Thought he could be the 'God' of the 'New World' 10. KILLED L (basically). 11. Lied to everyone on the Task Force.
Her methods in dealing with sending the Kira tapes to Sakura TV. Her only mistake was letting her hair fall on it. At the same time, she handled the capture from L rather smoothly, staying calm after not seeing Light for about a month and a half. Once integrated into the investigation team, she was able to convince Higuchi she was Kira, despite the heightened risks of doing so.
@GoodOldAnime I HATE Light!!! D< I mean he had good intentions at first but yes, the power did corrupt him...poor L when he died I didn't come out of my room fro weeks

@GoodOldAnime Lets see I started watching death note about....maybe a year ago and maybe a few months before, I dont really remember but I have seen the show multiple times, just not the movies I hate to admit I just never got around to seeing them.

@GoodOldAnime I know, sometimes I actually question myself on what the *real* meaning is to the story , Also not to sound cruel but honestly who cares if L or Light or many of the other characters die!? I mean how else was the show supposed to end? Obviously it was a big hit everywhere but all great things must come to an end right? I just wish people didn't get so upset over this kind of thing, worse things have happened to real people in the real world and they always find a way to manage.
@GoodOldAnime I don't think anyone who kills is justice, it just isn't right, I'm not on either side, Light is pretty much a world wide murderer and L in the beginning risked and killed the man in the beginning who played as him during the "world wide" broadcast even if it was his execution date, and yeah Light's character in the beginning was really nice but then he found the DN and became all twisted and slightly insane, but I forgot about how he was by now.

I am a fan of L myself but he isn't a real person sure it upset me but its not like I died inside, I don't necessarily have a favourite character I just accept all the characters even if I secretly hate them, and your so right! if L didn't die we wouldn't know a thing, somethings better than nothing. and people who did stop watching it after L died, its just sad! Another thing I hate is how people take it like it's real! Like when Light becomes Kira he has real people for supporters, I just do not get it, you can't kill off enemies, no matter how much easier it would make life!

@hnry9542 Actually in the story it's says that all humans, weather or not they've come into any sort of contact with the note, go to mu or "nothingness" when they die but im speaking specifically from the manga where it states that twice but the anime might've had a lighter tone. Not an argument just letting you know.

I loved L and Light most...although at firzt i liked Light then he killed L so mercilessly...I i disliked Light a bit when L was killed and then i cried when Light died...So i decided both are my total favs. =D
I am completely and utterly serious. I agree with Lights veiws and perspective. I am not like Misa to him but If he were real, I would still respect him and look up to him as the savior of the world. If I were asked "Is it okay to kill people?" I would say "Yes if they have done something to deserve it!"
MEHHH I love L BUt Light is so much better. he had a good vision for the future of the world , where people are put through righteous judgement and only good people lived. I do still feel bad for L but I think Light was only helping the world by killing him who was an obstacle.

L actually said in a Death Note special chapter that "I don't care about justice, if we divide the world by good and bad then I would be a criminal, I only want to find Kira because I like difficult cases" :D And Near said "Kira decrased world's criminal rate by 70% and put a halt to wars"... Before reading that special chapter I thought Light was an arrogant fool whose actions did nothing but after that special I believe that Light was good after all.

Ok, I'll admit it... I cried. Long live L Lawliet, the # 1,2 and 3 most amazing and well known detectives EVER! We watched his eat his weight in sweets, sit like a monkey and be just Himself. Through friendship and betrayal, he knew it, and dispute a horrable way to go, had a great run. We love you L, your in your own sweet heaven now. (gosh, I just wrote a funeral speach for a fictional charactor. *sigh* it sooo fits though.)
L was a true man. he is the closest thing to a God that a man can be. He knew that Light was Kira and that he was gonna die. That is why he washed Light's feet and repented. just as mary did to jesus. It was light who didnt know the errors of his ways. One cannot save the world when killing is involved. Evil combined with good cannot have a positive outcome.
At the beginning I thought light was a good guy and L was too. But Light is pure evil. I can't believe L died. He didn't do anything wrong. And even if he did, he dried/washed/whatever to Light for his sins. I really feel sorry for L. I miss L.
i would love to see a seaquel to death note one thats a new story line involving the the book obviously with say near and whats left of the task force with a new member could turn out this ne wmember of the task was kira and kills the task force and near then we have a platform for a whole new story
Light makes me sick to the stomach. L even called Light his only friend. He wanted to believe that Light wasn't a murderer, but when he was dying, all he got to see was "his only friend" grinning at his death.
Light deserved every bullet that penetrated his body in the last episode.
L didn't WANT Light to be Kira. From the evidence that he gathered, he personally believed that Light was Kira, even though he couldn't prove it. As Near quoted in the last episode, everything was "too perfect about Light". Everybody has their intuitions, so as it is with L.
But at the same time, L thought of Light as a friend. He had so much evidence that Light was Kira; but yet he wanted to believe that he wasn't. That's why he apologized and gave Light a foot-massage too.
Actually, L both wanted and not for L to be Kira: why yes, because he never failed a case. Why not, you pointed it, L was his first friend, he saw that they understand each other... Unfortunatly, Light has become a murderer ...
True. L simply believed that if Light was Kira, everything would fall into place. It was the last missing piece of the puzzle, everything seemed fixed except Light. Which made L even more suspicious about Light.
But that doesn't change the fact that L considered Light his friend and that he could actually understand Light.
@ArchayosYPP well thats what makes it a good story id would be boring if L was all like "i hope your not kira" and light "yeah im not" and then light isint kira THE END that would just be boring the fact that the producers got you to feel like that for fictional characters just shows that there good at thier job
@bezeker12 I never said I disliked the story, it was extremely interesting in fact. I simply said that Light's personality disgusted me. Who said you can't relate to characters in an anime or have an opinion about them, while liking the anime at the same time?

@ArchayosYPP Light gives a good perspective to a bad character he let L know that he won and that he was kira before he died instead of letting him die and never figure out who was what. Light is two people god of the new world and Yagami Light and Yagami light was the person L was friends with.
@Yurichi Nevertheless, it's still pretty disgusting to put your trust in somebody, refer to them as your "only friend", and then figure out that they betrayed you during your last moments of life. Sure you can say that he "solved" L's mystery, but that didn't mean L didn't have feelings. Betrayal, especially at the time of death, REALLY hurts.
@Bududulis He did at first, but as the anime progresses, you can kinda see that L started to consider Light as a friend. Would suck to see somebody who you just started to trust, grin during the last moments of your life.

Lights dad was good too, so were most of the investigation team. L was a little bit evil (he tortured people- he had cause, but still...) but that's kinda why I like him...
yeah he did also have that death row inmate stand in his place to draw kira out and before he was killed he was gonna do that experiment involving the death note and the other two inmates

MEHHH I love L BUt Light is so much better. he had a good vision for the future of the world , where people are put through righteous judgement and only good people lived. I do still feel bad for L but I think Light was only helping the world by killing him who was an obstacle.

L actually said in a Death Note special chapter that "I don't care about justice, if we divide the world by good and bad then I would be a criminal, I only want to find Kira because I like difficult cases" :D And Near said "Kira decrased world's criminal rate by 70% and put a halt to wars"... Before reading that special chapter I thought Light was an arrogant fool whose actions did nothing but after that special I believe that Light was good after all.

Ok, I'll admit it... I cried. Long live L Lawliet, the # 1,2 and 3 most amazing and well known detectives EVER! We watched his eat his weight in sweets, sit like a monkey and be just Himself. Through friendship and betrayal, he knew it, and dispute a horrable way to go, had a great run. We love you L, your in your own sweet heaven now. (gosh, I just wrote a funeral speach for a fictional charactor. *sigh* it sooo fits though.)

That is why he washed Light's feet and repented. just as mary did to jesus. It was light who didnt know the errors of his ways. One cannot save the world when killing is involved. Evil combined with good cannot have a positive outcome.

At the beginning I thought light was a good guy and L was too. But Light is pure evil. I can't believe L died. He didn't do anything wrong. And even if he did, he dried/washed/whatever to Light for his sins. I really feel sorry for L. I miss L.

Light makes me sick to the stomach. L even called Light his only friend. He wanted to believe that Light wasn't a murderer, but when he was dying, all he got to see was "his only friend" grinning at his death.

L didn't WANT Light to be Kira. From the evidence that he gathered, he personally believed that Light was Kira, even though he couldn't prove it. As Near quoted in the last episode, everything was "too perfect about Light". Everybody has their intuitions, so as it is with L.
But at the same time, L thought of Light as a friend. He had so much evidence that Light was Kira; but yet he wanted to believe that he wasn't. That's why he apologized and gave Light a foot-massage too.

True. L simply believed that if Light was Kira, everything would fall into place. It was the last missing piece of the puzzle, everything seemed fixed except Light. Which made L even more suspicious about Light.
But that doesn't change the fact that L considered Light his friend and that he could actually understand Light.

@ArchayosYPP Light gives a good perspective to a bad character he let L know that he won and that he was kira before he died instead of letting him die and never figure out who was what. Light is two people god of the new world and Yagami Light and Yagami light was the person L was friends with.

@Yurichi Nevertheless, it's still pretty disgusting to put your trust in somebody, refer to them as your "only friend", and then figure out that they betrayed you during your last moments of life. Sure you can say that he "solved" L's mystery, but that didn't mean L didn't have feelings. Betrayal, especially at the time of death, REALLY hurts.
