  • Lawd almighty, Richard Dawson was hot stuff.

  • Looks like one of those post-lunch break episodes that are in the lore of history

  • Hahahaha.. I just love Richard Dawson. Funny to see him smoke.

Can you imagine that would happen today in a show...

  • HA hahahahahahaha. Good stuff. I miss this show.

  • I believe Richard tied her up after she gave an expecially rotten answer. :) it's his chair they took;)

  • Is that Richard Dawson's stool or chair?

  • who tied up betty white?

  • LOL, they had so much fun on that set/show.

  • What year did the infamously long microphone make its debut?

  • @ericandy88 Glad you asked. On one episode, about Nov. 1974, Gary Burghoff was subbing for CNR (where he was acting in a Broadway musical). One day, Gary was playing with Gene's microphone, and discovered that the Sony mike telescoped up and down. Gene took notice of that feature and started to adjust the mike until it felt comfortable in his hand. And (as they say) the rest is history...

  • This is why this show was awesome: no-one cared about the contestants.

  • These people were amazingly funny... they should have a reunion show - even though some of the stars are no longer with us (the great Brett and Charles). But Betty White, Richard Dawson, Fannie, Pattie, Marcia Wallace - all still alive.

  • have u got the full epp of this?

  • Richard Dawson is the man.

  • Anyone else notice Dawson's holding a smoke?

  • well good thing blankety blank has no shianigains

  • how did betty white get tied up??!!

  • Absolutely hilarious! And a testimony to undistilled comedy!

  • match game is wild

  • Ever get the feeling that Match Game '74 had to be the LOOPIEST YEAR there was? And 1974 is when I was born!

  • 1974 Was the year I was born too!

  • Any more, and I would call SUPER SMASH BROS. "BLANK" EDITION!

  • The SSB part represented the chaos and the "BLANK" part revered to the game play of MG.

  • Jack Carter has some good beatnik jokes.

  • LOL!!!

Funny stuff, especially Richard trying to find his chair and Jack going crazy.
