Those fire pots are not fused by ''Quick match'' what they are using is ''black match''/ string coated in Black powder/BP. Quick match burns a lot quicker than that! as the name suggests. and the ''pots'' should really have a central bursting charge surrounded by coarse grained(large grain) BP. Similar to the construction of a pyrotechnic shell, but instead of colourful stars being ejected you should have just plain BP ejected in all directions. however I do admire their presistence.
Maybe more animal fat would sustain the burn after and coat the surfaces of the target making it a more difficult fire to extinguish?
