he has a beautiful voice, but daltrey's voice is powerful something that pete's lacks - therefore daltrey is far better suited for there heavier who tracks
well, in all fairness, without any of them, the who would not have existed. they NEEDED keith and john too. imagine bargain with someone else, or quadrophenia with an generic bassist. they all brought something special that was essential to the who's sound. of course, i agree 100% with you that they needed roger.
Yes, of course. I was more thinking of the fact that Roger was the one getting the group together, fixing gigs, driving the bus and all other sorts of things. But as you said, they wouldn't have been The Who without any of them, all of them are true originals, in personalities and musical talent. LONG LIVE THE WHO!
watch a bunch of these pete playin acoustic, whenever he does he has a bad habit of forgetting and jumbling lyrics. tsk tsk

His brilliant playing shines through so much more as soon as he plays an acoustic guitar.

Never liked Daltrey much, why didn't he just do all of this stuff solo?

Almost impossible to duplicate the energy of Townsend's rhythm guitar. That face he makes at the end is perfect!
