You guys here about that male chimp who ripped off that lady's face and BOTH her hands?!?! Crazy shit man. Male chimps have the upper body strength of 7 adult male humans.
@strapinhotpockets Yeah, I've seen Frodo in other films and he is indeed seriously big for a chimp. Though you have to consider that his raised hair adds to the effect.
frodo is a fucking pyscho when he became alpha he became a violent aggresive dictator who ruled the troupe through fear and intimidation whilst Freud was a more benevolent ruler who was loved by the entire troupe
i saw a whole documentry about how a lot of the amazing shots you see in wildlife films are actually staged with captive animals.. like a bbc special 'wolves" had a shot with a wolf jumping almost over the camer, and a shot of wolves running across a feild. both were filmed with trained animals. so dont always believe what you see in this films, any shot you think "WOW how did they film that?!" is likely staged. its sad but viewers want drama and action, trained animals can bring that
im not making it up? thats how you sell wildlife documentrys..with drama and action.
the show i saw was called "the fifth estate" look up the documentry yourself. or google the topic of captive animals used in documentrys.. its true, i even list an example in my previous message.
I'm pretty sure they know what they are talking about, this is their profession and they have been studying these animals and their behaviours for years.
I'm really surprised at the woman wearing a pony tail. I would have my hair in a bun or knot because with the way chimps like to display by grabbing branches, a pony tail would be an easy target. As are the gaffers' booms.
I think that big one alpha male-Frodo, is the one who attacked one women and got her baby of her back and ate it(it was too late to alert rangers since they were quite far away from the scene), surely that nasty act havent been filmed but I think I read it somewhere. Frodo has been one of the most popular/filmed chimpanzees over the last 20 years, he has always been violent and I think he is the one of the biggest if not the biggest chimp ever in that national park(Gombe Stream).
He ate the baby ye, but he was spared cause it really wasnt his fault. The woman walked in the middle of the park unprotected and carelessly holding the baby on her back which is strictly forbiden. Thats why he was spared you see, their act was against the wildlife reserve, not his "hunting", I mean he does that kind of hunting whole his adult life-snapping baby colobus monkeys of their mother back-natural predatory behaviour. Crazy ye, but one more reason he was spared is cause he is so famous.
Ye, right, like I said, it wasnt his fault, you cant blame the animal when its provoked, we are not talking about human logic here
dont mix apples&oranges. Despite them being hominids, chimps are still animals.
And that wildlife park is protected, so its a case of clear ignorance&unawerness when you take the baby deep inside the park unprotected, oblivious to which animals live in that very same park. They considered the option to kill him but when they realised the circumstances they dropped it
If you know anything about chimps you would never take a baby near them. I'm reading Jane Goodall's Through a Window and there have been numerous instances of male AND female chimps stealing baboon, colobus and other chimp babies and killing then eating them. They rip them right from the mother's arms.
Minority report comes to mind. Preventing murder of his group by killing the killer before they can develop. Seeing as how animals made monkeys and then worked their way up to making humans. The chimps are just part of the gene that has that type of reaction to other species. Maybe they feel they are smarter and are acting like humans do to animals. They are saying that they are smarter than colobus as humans try to claim that they are smarter than animals or about every living thing.
Probably a revenge for stealing baby chimps for human experiments. I don't see any ethical argument for animal abuse when these things happen. Are humans the only ones with justice. How do you know she wasn't part of someone who had something to do with a kidnapping of one of theirs and she went their putting her baby as a sacrifice if chimps wrte that smart she thought to herself. So that is another law broken by humans and you blaim the animal. A little one sided don't you think.
I wouldnt ever run because they are faster than you i would just stay in one spot and look as big as possible because it will go away.
Well...i would take my reliable 12 gauge shotgun with me too!

How do the film crew remain so calm? Chimps would destroy a human if they had a tantrum or something.
