He was a 2x NCAA champ. I've trained with him strictly in wrestling, I'm aware of his ability. I'm also aware that he and CB have both transferred their wrestling into MMA to the same level. It can only go so far before a lack of skills in other areas start to hurt you. CB has much better submissions and similar striking. Mark's wrestling won't play a large role in the difference of the fight.
@evkero I have to disagree with you, i think wrestling will be a factor, however i also think they will stand and bang as well, as Mark knows CB obviously has more than the average UFC fighters wrestling pedigree. As far as Jiu Jitsu and ground game off the back, CB has the advantage, but Mark is still the higher belt level at purple belt, compared to CB's blue. But this is MMA, anything can happen, that's what makes it so great.
I agree it will be a factor but not a DECIDING factor as it had been suggested. Mark has the higher belt but CB had utilized his JJ far more effectively that Mark (Often against wrestlers). We know that belts don't make the fighter. I feel they'll want to push each other's weaknesses and wrestling is neither of their weaknesses.

Just because u see african americans with european last names, latinos with spanish last names and filipinos with spanish last names, it doesnt mean they arent full blooded or close to full blooded africans, native indians, native filipinos. Again, just because he is in the same gym doesnt mean he is the same calibur fighter. Munoz has fought 2 top guys and lost. His fight with Simpson wasnt his best performance either. Yes he is growning as a fighter but he needs to relize that he just isnt at that levle yet and we dont know if he ever will be. But I admit a win over C.B. will be good for him.

@evkero You are kidding right? lol, Munoz is a NCAA division 1 champion. CB's wrestling is not even in the same realm as Mark's. So many UFC fighters go specifically to Mark for his wrestling coaching.

He was a 2x NCAA champ. I've trained with him strictly in wrestling, I'm aware of his ability. I'm also aware that he and CB have both transferred their wrestling into MMA to the same level. It can only go so far before a lack of skills in other areas start to hurt you. CB has much better submissions and similar striking. Mark's wrestling won't play a large role in the difference of the fight.

@evkero I have to disagree with you, i think wrestling will be a factor, however i also think they will stand and bang as well, as Mark knows CB obviously has more than the average UFC fighters wrestling pedigree. As far as Jiu Jitsu and ground game off the back, CB has the advantage, but Mark is still the higher belt level at purple belt, compared to CB's blue. But this is MMA, anything can happen, that's what makes it so great.

I agree it will be a factor but not a DECIDING factor as it had been suggested. Mark has the higher belt but CB had utilized his JJ far more effectively that Mark (Often against wrestlers). We know that belts don't make the fighter. I feel they'll want to push each other's weaknesses and wrestling is neither of their weaknesses.
