The dollar used to be a voucher that was redeemable for gold. You must not pay much attention to the price of gold per ounce, do you? It's rising in the long run considerably. Now you may not be able to get anything from Walmart with it but you can buy it and sell it later and make a profit off the same bullion.

I do care about those sacrificed for gold and gold mined of those means is worthless to me because I DO understand that the value of gold fluctuates. However I also know that gold, in general, will always be worth something to someone somewhere and that demand/price will continue rising in the foreseeable future.

I've passed through the Tijuana border a bit. Do you have a citation to a specific section of this statute that supports your statement that US citizens can be arrested within the US and detained? I have heard many people railing against it, but I don't see anything like that in the law. Am I missing it?

The dollar used to be a voucher that was redeemable for gold. You must not pay much attention to the price of gold per ounce, do you? It's rising in the long run considerably. Now you may not be able to get anything from Walmart with it but you can buy it and sell it later and make a profit off the same bullion.

I do care about those sacrificed for gold and gold mined of those means is worthless to me because I DO understand that the value of gold fluctuates. However I also know that gold, in general, will always be worth something to someone somewhere and that demand/price will continue rising in the foreseeable future.

@chuckshaw2000 I contribute plenty to society. I work, which is more valuable to my employer than the money that he pays me, which is more valuable to me than my work. I don't pay taxes on that income because the cash I receive is part of a trade in which the government is not a party. This contribution to my employer and the seldom voluntary donations I make to charities are contributions to society.
As for Rand's SS, that's her money that she gave that was returned to her. I see no problem.

By the way, it was the Obama administration who specifically rewrote the language so that it will apply to anyone they decide it applies to. As for abuse, how can you say it won't be abused?
