I know of several record stores that always run out of the latest compas offerings, but usually have a copy on hand to sell. I usually decline, i'm tired of it to the point of refusing to visit these stores. I've quite an extensive collection of Haitian music in that respect.

It is a travesty indeed. But, it is a bit much of a stretch to say zouk will claim kompa came from them when in fact zouk is indeed a offshoot of kompa...
Kompa is way so much richer in formation than zouk that it very hard, when comparing the two, not to see which came from which...
And I love zouk a lot... I mean a lot. But, there is nothing like a good, well produced and well arranged kompa jam... It's very hard to match that !!!

omg!! what would we ever do without kompas!?! I've always bought cds...its just mad haitians are waaaaaaaaaaaaayy to cheap to the point where they dont want to pay...what...$12 for a cd...which is nothing. wake up haitians!!! bootleggin is killing our artists!!!
