how does this gun feel if your firing with just one hand and not two hands?. I am asking because in the club I am in they encourage or rather force everyone to fire with only one hand in a 45 degree angle stance. If im not mistaken I think some call it old school shooting.
@1Gabrielsson1 Really good. It has no recoil at all. I grew up shooting one handed myself. Two hands is more steady though especially as I age:) Thanks!
OK, I did not mention it, but out of 1000+ rds of blazer, I have had NOT ONE failure of any kind. Using the bulk ammos from remmington and federal, failures were frequent, even thought they were supposed to be 1240+ FPS. The Federal was the worst, and is only suitable for use in my revolver.
I have a walther and, yes, ammo selection is everything. for target practice, I use CCI Blazer. They are brass a cartridge, LRN with some kind of clear (plastic?) coating over the lead. I buy the brick of 500 rds that has 10 individually packaged 50 rd boxes. They come with a little plastic retainer so that the bullets are not rubbing against each other the way they do in the 550 value packs. I have put well over a thousand rounds through my P-22 since I got it. I think it is a great gun!
I remember when I went shooting for the first time and I shot a whole bunch of my nieghbours guns, and the mosquito was one of them, I remember it did have problems ejecting, but it could just be that we neede hotter rounds, which really isnt a problem since 22s are so cheap! great vid!
Hi Bill - MR45BULLET. There is a trade coming my way & I have the option as friend wants his old gun back. Between the Walther P22 & the Sig Mosquito - I think the Mosquito is a heavier gun. I have the P22 already but it is almost worn out. I already sent it back for a new barrel. The Mosquito shoots better the more rounds you have thru it. So, I may go for that one OR another P22 this time with a stainless (titamium SLIDE). Can't go wrong either way. THX. Sincerely, JAMES.
I bought one and my friend got a two tone as well. If it ever has issues then we work on it and thats the fun part really for me. Mostly when new but after speeding the break in it works great.
Persistent jamming problems with the Mosquito and the P22 are usually shooter error - NOT because of the ammo or "design flaws" of these pistols.
A friend owns our local gun shop & I've been with him when he's tested returned "problem" P22s & Mosquitos. In every case the guns fire flawlessly in his hands.
He explained that .22lr have barely enough energy to cycle these pistols so even the slightest limp wristing will take enough energy away to cause a failure to cycle. I think he is right.
@sharkinfested I totally agree, but in this case it was inferior magazines. I used the steel magazines no problem when I went to the plastic magazines I had some jamming. Thanks.
@sharkinfested If the gun can barley cycle and will jam unless you have a vice grip on it, that is a flaw in the design in my opinion. The bullet you use, at least in the Mosquito, is a big factor in that gun functioning. CCI Minimags without a doubt work the best, probably because that is what the gun was tested with as it was being designed. After it's shot a lot though, it works very well with lots of different ammunitions. Just my opinion.
@jboritzki These problems happen when manufacturers base a .22lr pistol on one of their popular models in a larger cartridge. The original design was never meant to run off of the weak .22, so they end up with a pistol that barely cycles on cheap ammo.
If you want a pistol that eats almost any ammo get one designed from the ground up for the .22lr like the Mark III, S&W 22A, or the Buck Mark. Notice the slides on these pistols are very small and light in comparison - no wonder they work :)

No offense, but it was first blamed on the ammo then on the magazine. Too fishy. I can only recommend for people to buy the Walther, it looks better and feels better. And most importantly it shoots better. The last thing you need is to give one to your wife for home protection and it doesn't fire like this one on the video.
No offense, but it was originally blamed on the ammo, and now the magazine. Too fishy. I can only say to people to buy the Walther, it looks better and works better.
@jbravo70 No offense taken. I checked it out further after the video and that was my honest assessment of the problem. I am not selling Sigs just trying to be fair. If I had to buy just one it would be the Mosquito. Just telling you my Honest opinion.
1st its a .22, never had a .22 semi that was !00 % 2nd there really fun. i dont get people that poo poo any of the newer .22's pistols. any was really like your vids . Van turned me on to you, keep up the good work
I don't know why people would say on here they would go buy a mosquito after it failed to fire here??? I have he walther and I think it is a better gun. Taking it apart was an issue, but I found a new way of doing it without that plastic piece on YouTube, and it works east and perfect everytime. Use cci round nose mini mags and you shouldn't have any problems whatsoever.
Mr45bullit? could you give me a dead honest answer, I'm looking to buy one of these two guns at a local gunshop new, and I don't know which one to get. I like the look, feel, and size of the p22 and everything, but I like the same features on the SIG as well, what would you reccomend?
@AK47METALLICA I would go with the Sig Mosquito. It is a quality gun and using CCI mini mags it works very well. The magazines are expensive but stick with the metal ones not plastic. I hope this helps.
Sig Mosquito VS Walter P22 Table top review please and give us your opion which is better. I want to buy 1 but i only want 1 which do i choose??? long time sub
was looking to get one of these guns i heard things about the walther p22 and how its cheap havent heard much about the sig but i saw u miss fired twice with it
yeah my son was shooting my Ruger Mark 2 .22 and said it was FTF's a couple of times, so I cleaned it for the first time since 1984. Gotta love the Rugers
loved the feel of my mosquito got it to acompany my sig 226. BUT! never could fire more than 3 or 4 shots without a hang up.. was told u gotta use cci mini mags it WAS my favorite 22 when it went boom WAS i say sold that gun as fast as i could. if it workt with my ole federal bulk id stil hav it 4 sure. sig is posta be one of the best. they cut corners or something. miss it wish it workd out : (..
thats the next gun i get is definetly a 22 i should have bought one a long time ago but i thought it was a pussy round didnt think about how fun and inexspensive they are to shoot
Actually the Israeli secret service used a Beretta .22 and were trained to shoot for the head with one shot kills. I think we underestimate the .22 round. I look at it like this. I"d rather be accurate with a .22 than miss with a .44magnum. You can practice a lot with a .22 for a little bit of money.A .22 is not my choice for a carry gun though. Although with a 11 round magazine I think I could handle any situation I would come across.
