I am very pleased for you and I'm about to buy one myself. Are you in Australia? May I ask how much you paid for it? Did you get all those accessories or they included them with the purchase?
@Roland6596 I'm not in Australia. I wish I am though. Anyway, those accessories were optional purchase such as the bench & the Survival DVD Kit. I believe I did specify these items were not optional in my video.
@Roland6596 Yeah you should, i got my DGX-640 a several months ago, it is very nice. I have videos of me playing in my videos, and have already played Tiger Rag on it, maybe you could check out my vids. There is also a nice Grand Piano button, that makes it easy if you are using another voice to switch to the grand piano, though sometimes i think voice 3, "Warm Grand Piano" is better sounding
You want to show off the keyboard or you want to show off your bedroom? It's pretty obvious it's the latter. Why not show us some of the keyboard's features, maybe play something for us? I'm guessing you can't play and you bought it more as a decoration. You even said the room is too cramped for it so why even bother putting it in there? People click this video because they want to see the keyboard. Nobody cares about your dumbass bedroom.
@Egag642 He said he is LEARNING to play piano. Not as a decoration..Thats why he got the piano book so he could learn.(Thats also why he didnt play anything)And he prolly put the piano in his room because there was no other space avaible for it.And all he said about the bedroom was 'This is my bedroom' And that took what,3 secs? the rest of the video was about the piano...Dumbass...
hi sir! we are planning to buy this unit for our church. currently choosing between dgx-530 and 640.. just want to ask, are the keys too heavy? thanks! :)
i like the warm ambient light in your room. looks relaxing :p
@mauirev The keys aren't heavy at all. I was okay with them even I'm a beginner piano. The keys feel like an acoustic piano. Don't buy the DGX-530. It's very old and dated. The DGX-640 has tons of new features that your church choir will benefit.
hello! nice video. just want to ask though, is kraftmusic reliable online shop for music instruments? because i want to buy a digital piano on their website.
@natsoy Yes, they're very reliable. I had no problems dealing with the security of my credit card nor delivery of the piano. Everything I ordered came on the same day, one delivery.
I just got mines yesterday in BestBuy for $925 with shipping. I didn't get the 3 pedals cause that will be $75 and the 3-pedal (LP-7A) is for Yamaha YPG-635 keyboards not the DGX-640? I will buy the 3 pedals latter. But mine didn't come with the rest of the things you got. The chair was like $110.
@Ryuus31 I got mine at KraftMusic for $910.00 and no tax and free shipping. I got the Yamaha DGX-640 keyboard, the 3-pedal, the matching furniture bench, an upgraded Audio Technica headphones, DVD's, keyboard felt cover, and Survival kit. All for $910.00!!!
@divinelykeyed The keys aren't hard to press but they are graded hammer weight keys so they mimic the feel and touch of an acoustic piano. This is a great quality to this particular keyboard and the keys don't "stick" to each other. For example, if you press the middle "C" key, the middle C only moves down and not the other keys on either side of C.
man am so jealous of your room!phew..anyway,u have any idea hw much tht thing weighs?i live in jamaica its really hard for me to get a keyboard ..they sell them out here but it costs a fortune,so i was gona try to let someone buy it for me n ship it,but i wana knw how much it weighs,so i have an idea or so what it costs to ship..
@divinelykeyed Man this thing is sooooo heavy. I think the keyboard weighs about at least 60 pounds so it's gonna cost you an arm and a leg to ship it to Jamaica. I had to help the UPS delivery guy to carry it to my second floor unit. How much does the Yamaha DGX-640 cost in Jamaica? I'm curious to know.
@sethland oh..n hey sry i disliked your vid by accident but i clicked like after..my comp froze cuz i waz actually tryin to pause the vid..I dont even know if they sell it here..becuz they are like a handful of music stores here and i only know one..but lemme give u an example of what i mean..they store has a yamaha DGX 230 selling for 60000 jmd, which is equivalent to 702.05 usd, while on the internet i could get it for 239usd which is 20500jmd..c how expensive!!
@sethland and they have a yamha psr E423 for 85000 jmd which is 994.57 usd,and i could get that for 229 usd on the internet which is 19500 jmd!!so after i saw those two prices i didnt bother to go and look on the rest of the keyboards becuz those were more expensive and i could imagine so i left.
hey < i got the yamaha dgx 640 for my birthday in april, and im pretty sure it says that you ab put a usb key in the piano and play music, do you know how to do that ? if you do can you please help me :-) thank you
I have a question? I'm saving up for this. What would be a better deal: buying it from craft music with everything included (some of it like the DVD I don't need) for 900 dollars, or buying it from another website for 600 (which only inludes headphones and one pedal and idk abot the bench)? Srry if that was confusing...
@writingmusician6 You'll be saving a lot of money if you buy the whole package like I did. Like you, I thought about buying the external pieces individually but it totaled more than $910 so I decided to buy the whole package instead. There's no tax and it was free shipping.
I just bought one of these myself (in cherry finish) and the stand does come with the keyboard as standard. The 3 pedal board is an optional extra purchased separately - but well worth it if you want to learn "proper" piano. I bought the pedal board too. Excellent digital piano, I'd definitely recommend it. The keys feel excellent and the sound quality is great.
@sarahlavigne3 No, it doesn't come with the piano Sarah. But I highly recommend that you buy the 3-pedal system (LP-7A). It's worth the investment and with this kind of a piano, you shouldn't settle for just the sustain pedal that comes standard if you buy this particular piano.
@sarahlavigne3 The DGX-640 is the flagship model number. The "W" stands for walnut as in color. There are two model numbers: DGX-640C and DGX-640W where the "C" stands for cherry as in color.
@thatBeaukid Hey Beau, I wish I could answer your question that easy but unfortunately, I don't know the P95 at all. But normally, the newest model has all the improvements that the old model don't have so my guess is that the DGX 640 may sound better.
@Sanny31aug1 The DGX 640 of course. Yamaha doesn't make the DGX 630 anymore. The DGX 640 has improved keys and they don't stick together like the DGX 630. Plus it has more voices and sounds.
@Sanny31aug1 Answers: 1) Yes coz it has a graded hammer scale which means that it mimics the weight & feel of a real acoustic piano. 2)cThere are so many instruments to try but the ones that I've tried sound great & realistic such as drums, harp, violin, guitar, trumpet, and electronic piano. 3) No, you have to buy them separately. These are optional items. You get an okay quality headphone if you buy the keyboard. The matching bench is an optional item too. Thanks for the nice compliment!!!
i want this piano! Im waiting for some money, to buy it, im a music student and my teacher recommended this piano and im just excited to buy it, great info, thanx!
The Organ voices are amazing and you can tweak with DSP. No modulation wheel to control Leslie speeds but you can map slow to 1 registration button and fast to another. I really enjoy this piano. Closest thing to 9 ft acoustic yet from Yamy. I have a decent 2.1 PA and played through that it sounds better than the Avande Grand
@0FelipeZ Extremely happy and excited. In fact, I wasn't able to sleep well the night before because I was worried that I might not be able to hear UPS knocking on my door. LOL!!
@sethland youre welcome I was just saying what i noticed haha also I just boought that piano and its really amazing greeting from mexico and have a nice day :)
hello, i have a doubt i dont if to buy the dgx 530 or the 640. i have the money for the 530 but ive seen so many good reviews about the 640 and i dont know if i should save a little more to buy it.. do you thinks theres a big diference between the sound quality of the two? what would you recomend??
@andresdorondonhotma Save your money and buy the Yamaha DGX-640. This model is far superior than the DGX-530. Yamaha doesn't make the DGX-530 anymore. It's discontinued. The sound is the same but the keys are so much better. The difference in price is not that significant. You'll be happier with the DGX-640.
@steamkidsdad Thanks dude!!! I really appreciate your comment. It's not really hard to have a bedroom like mine. However, I must say the bed linens are really, really expensive but it's worth the money I paid for it.
Would you say this is the best realistic keyboard? I want one like an acoustic piano with touch sensitive keys. $900 dollars would be about the max amount i'd pay too.
@TheJaguarProductions It is the best realistic keyboard with graded hammer scales that will feel like you're playing on an acoustic piano and made by the best musical instrument manufacturer: Yamaha. The price is $799 when I bought it and it came out to $910 after I purchased a lot of optionals such as the matching furniture bench, Audio Technica headset, 3pedal, and the Yamaha DVD Survival Kit. I didn't have to pay taxes and shipping to top it off so it's a great price of this kind!!!
had this thing for a month now, probably less. i'm loving it. every time i play it, it's hard to stop. and when i do stop, it's hard to resist turning it on again. it was worth every penny.
Yet again, I have a question :). Euuuhm....you remember me the dude considering of buying either a Dgx-630 or a DGX-640 as I see it looks like the DGX-640 has quite smaller speakers than the DGX-630, is this true and also some people say the DGX-640 Has worse audio than the DGX-630, Please awnser my question I'd like to know it thanks.
@13fpsgamer The answer to your question is that what you heard is NOT TRUE!!!. Both the DGX-640 and -630 have the same kind of speakers and amplifier which is two speakers with a 6 watt amplifier. Yamaha hasn't changed their speakers for years now from model YPG-635/DGX-530/DGX-630/DGX-640. They have the same speakers in all these models! Please visit their website for more info. You can actually answer most of your questions just by visiting their website.
@sethland YES!!! I got it last night. Man, I am so happy.
It's true, I just could't wait to take it home. I bought it at a local Yamaha dealer here in my country - Colombia. It's the Yamaha DGX-640W (walnut). I also decided to give a chance to the LP-7A pedal unit because I intend to exploit the piano features of the instrument. Unfortunately, they didn't have the Survival Kit, I would have liked to have that too. So, I'm expecting to enjoy it to the fullest, and maybe post some vids also!
@elopezca Oh kool!!! I'm sure you're excited huh? By the time you read this comment, I think you played around with your new portable grand piano. Too bad they store didn't have the Survival Kit but did you buy the matching furniture bench?
@sethland It's a very kool instrument!!! I didn't buy the bench because they don't have it. So maybe I will settle for an adjustable X-style keyboard bench.
The piano voice is effectively improved over the other DGX models. I need to take the time to explore all of its features. I'm amazed by so many voices and accompaniment styles. I need to get used to the heavy hammer action keys. The pedal unit gives realism to the piano sound and chords. Man, so much enjoyment awatis for me!!!
Hi again, I just ordered this piano and I have another question. Just how necessary is the optional 3-pedal piece? Doesn't the sustain pedal that comes with the piano work just as fine?
@nuvamusic Congratulations and I'm sure you can't wait to get it. If you want the feel of a portable grand piano, then it's a good idea for you to buy the 3-pedal LP-7A. The sustain pedal that you get when you buy a piano is just that. The 3-pedal gives you the "damper, sustenuto, and sustain." The sound of the notes especially when playing the chords will have a richer sound. If you can afford to buy the DGX-640, just a few dollars more and you get the real complete set. You won't regret.
@sethland are you kidding? Your bedroom is the first thing I noticed when I first saw this video. Man, it looks so peaceful and so cozy!!! I will get a bedroom like that.
@sethland I haven't purchased my DGX-640 yet, but based on some YouTube videos I have noticed some improvement in the Grand Piano voice of DGX-640 compared to DGX-630. Could you please confirm that? Thanks.
@elopezca Confirmed!!! Also, Yamaha improved the keys on the DGX-640. They don't stick anymore. For such a little difference in price between the two, you're getting your money's worth with the DGX-640 than the DGX-630. They have discontinued the DGX-630 as of June 2010.
@13fpsgamer Yamaha does not make the DGX-630 anymore but some suppliers still sell them. They stop making the DGX-630 since June 2010 if this statement makes more sense to you.
@sethland That isn't really true I have played the DGX-630 and the DGX-640 side by side today and I haven't noticed any differences at the sound from the grand piano at all
@elopezca That isn't really true I have played the DGX-630 and the DGX-640 side by side today and I haven't noticed any differences at the sound from the grand piano at all
@rooo1o Congratulations!!!! You're going to enjoy this portable digital grand piano and you're not going to get disappointed with your purchase. It's the best digital piano and it came from a very world renowned manufacturer too. Why do you have to wait that long to receive your piano? It only took 7 days to ship(free) it to me. The Yamaha DGX-630 is only $50 less than the DGX-640 that's why I bought the newest model. I heard that the DGX-630 have problems with keys getting stuck together.
@sethland well it's €150 more here. and i gotta wait because my retailer doesn't have this in stock and each and every DGX640 are sold-out and ordered until november 6th :D i've heard some fantastic pianosounds coming outta this thing, that's why i ordered that! :D i'm gonna use MAGIX samplitude music studio 17 with that too! :D
@rooo1o That sucks!!! This piano must be a very popular item where you live. What does MAGIX Samplitude Music Studio 17 does? Sounds very interesting.
@sethland well, I can't really explain to you what it does, but it mentions the basic features of it in your DGX 640 manual and it tells you what you can do with it that program on the piano. I don't really know what it does yet but i'm sure it will be worth the €80.
I am very pleased for you and I'm about to buy one myself. Are you in Australia? May I ask how much you paid for it? Did you get all those accessories or they included them with the purchase?

@0FelipeZ Extremely happy and excited. In fact, I wasn't able to sleep well the night before because I was worried that I might not be able to hear UPS knocking on my door. LOL!!

Hi, may I ask a question? I am planning to buy a DGX 640, and I heard that it only comes with a sustain pedal. Is that true?
mXTurtleable 1 year ago
@mXTurtleable That is very true. The Yamaha DGX-640 comes with the standard sustain pedal. You have to buy the 3-pedal LP-7A separately.
sethland 1 year ago
@mXTurtleable wow then I'm lucky . just picked up one this arvo it comes with the 3 pedals in a second box. (I;m in Australia)
whyallnameistaken 1 year ago
@whyallnameistaken I just ordered this today, and the sales person said the 3 pedals are free too! :)

hello, i have a doubt i dont if to buy the dgx 530 or the 640. i have the money for the 530 but ive seen so many good reviews about the 640 and i dont know if i should save a little more to buy it.. do you thinks theres a big diference between the sound quality of the two? what would you recomend??
andresdorondonhotma 1 year ago
@andresdorondonhotma Save your money and buy the Yamaha DGX-640. This model is far superior than the DGX-530. Yamaha doesn't make the DGX-530 anymore. It's discontinued. The sound is the same but the keys are so much better. The difference in price is not that significant. You'll be happier with the DGX-640.
sethland 1 year ago
@andresdorondonhotma The sound of the dgx 640 is just amazing. I though I was really playing a piano.

Is that a sticker it comes with under the right hand speaker? Is it removable?
SilvinoLozano 1 year ago
@SilvinoLozano No, it's not a sticker. It's just a piece of paper than came with it and you can just lift and take it off.
sethland 1 year ago
did you get the seat with it?
ljarabek 1 year ago
@ljarabek Yes, I got the matching furniture bench which is an extra charge but looks better than using any kind of chair.
sethland 1 year ago
@sethland ty, I will buy it too.

@ljarabek Great idea. It's worth it!!!

OK I wish i had your bed room its freakin amazing looking.
steamkidsdad 1 year ago
@steamkidsdad Thanks dude!!! I really appreciate your comment. It's not really hard to have a bedroom like mine. However, I must say the bed linens are really, really expensive but it's worth the money I paid for it.
sethland 1 year ago 2
@sethland hah! your welcome i hope to one day have a room this stylish... and im also getting this piano.. not this color though.
steamkidsdad 1 year ago
@sethland no problem man. i have to give credit were credit is due and this room is just amazing... and now i can say i have that same keyboard.
steamkidsdad 1 year ago
can we play without the structure by replacing it for those regular keyboard stands?
keyboardmaster95 1 year ago
@keyboardmaster95 I don't recommend it because this keyboard is very heavy. Besides, it wouldn't look good with other keyboard stands but its' own.
sethland 1 year ago
Would you say this is the best realistic keyboard? I want one like an acoustic piano with touch sensitive keys. $900 dollars would be about the max amount i'd pay too.
TheJaguarProductions 1 year ago
@TheJaguarProductions It is the best realistic keyboard with graded hammer scales that will feel like you're playing on an acoustic piano and made by the best musical instrument manufacturer: Yamaha. The price is $799 when I bought it and it came out to $910 after I purchased a lot of optionals such as the matching furniture bench, Audio Technica headset, 3pedal, and the Yamaha DVD Survival Kit. I didn't have to pay taxes and shipping to top it off so it's a great price of this kind!!!
sethland 1 year ago
why not just play it yourself?
CalikoKat 1 year ago
@CalikoKat I don't know how to play a piano when I bought this Yamaha.
sethland 1 year ago
had this thing for a month now, probably less. i'm loving it. every time i play it, it's hard to stop. and when i do stop, it's hard to resist turning it on again. it was worth every penny.
rooo1o 1 year ago
@rooo1o Glad that you are enjoying your brand new piano at its' fullest and I agree with every word you said.
sethland 1 year ago
Yet again, I have a question :). Euuuhm....you remember me the dude considering of buying either a Dgx-630 or a DGX-640 as I see it looks like the DGX-640 has quite smaller speakers than the DGX-630, is this true and also some people say the DGX-640 Has worse audio than the DGX-630, Please awnser my question I'd like to know it thanks.
13fpsgamer 1 year ago
@13fpsgamer The answer to your question is that what you heard is NOT TRUE!!!. Both the DGX-640 and -630 have the same kind of speakers and amplifier which is two speakers with a 6 watt amplifier. Yamaha hasn't changed their speakers for years now from model YPG-635/DGX-530/DGX-630/DGX-640. They have the same speakers in all these models! Please visit their website for more info. You can actually answer most of your questions just by visiting their website.

I'm getting mine today!!! I'm sooooo happy!!!!
elopezca 1 year ago
@elopezca Congrats!!! Where are you buying it from? I bet you can't wait to receive it huh?
sethland 1 year ago
@sethland YES!!! I got it last night. Man, I am so happy.
It's true, I just could't wait to take it home. I bought it at a local Yamaha dealer here in my country - Colombia. It's the Yamaha DGX-640W (walnut). I also decided to give a chance to the LP-7A pedal unit because I intend to exploit the piano features of the instrument. Unfortunately, they didn't have the Survival Kit, I would have liked to have that too. So, I'm expecting to enjoy it to the fullest, and maybe post some vids also!
elopezca 1 year ago
@elopezca Oh kool!!! I'm sure you're excited huh? By the time you read this comment, I think you played around with your new portable grand piano. Too bad they store didn't have the Survival Kit but did you buy the matching furniture bench?
sethland 1 year ago
@sethland It's a very kool instrument!!! I didn't buy the bench because they don't have it. So maybe I will settle for an adjustable X-style keyboard bench.
The piano voice is effectively improved over the other DGX models. I need to take the time to explore all of its features. I'm amazed by so many voices and accompaniment styles. I need to get used to the heavy hammer action keys. The pedal unit gives realism to the piano sound and chords. Man, so much enjoyment awatis for me!!!
elopezca 1 year ago
Hi again, I just ordered this piano and I have another question. Just how necessary is the optional 3-pedal piece? Doesn't the sustain pedal that comes with the piano work just as fine?
nuvamusic 1 year ago
@nuvamusic Congratulations and I'm sure you can't wait to get it. If you want the feel of a portable grand piano, then it's a good idea for you to buy the 3-pedal LP-7A. The sustain pedal that you get when you buy a piano is just that. The 3-pedal gives you the "damper, sustenuto, and sustain." The sound of the notes especially when playing the chords will have a richer sound. If you can afford to buy the DGX-640, just a few dollars more and you get the real complete set. You won't regret.
sethland 1 year ago
@nuvamusic the pedal it comes with works fine, however the 3 pedal piece feels much more natural
tfiore22 1 year ago
why do you wanna move it from your room dude it really matches it !

@amrabas2007 It does match but don't you think a bedroom is an inappropriate place for a piano?

@sethland are you kidding? Your bedroom is the first thing I noticed when I first saw this video. Man, it looks so peaceful and so cozy!!! I will get a bedroom like that.
elopezca 1 year ago
@elopezca Thanks for the comment!!!!
sethland 1 year ago
@sethland I haven't purchased my DGX-640 yet, but based on some YouTube videos I have noticed some improvement in the Grand Piano voice of DGX-640 compared to DGX-630. Could you please confirm that? Thanks.
elopezca 1 year ago
@elopezca Confirmed!!! Also, Yamaha improved the keys on the DGX-640. They don't stick anymore. For such a little difference in price between the two, you're getting your money's worth with the DGX-640 than the DGX-630. They have discontinued the DGX-630 as of June 2010.
sethland 1 year ago
@sethland What do you mean with discontinued? (its me again from your other vids btw) do you mean they don't sell em anymore? those 630's?
13fpsgamer 1 year ago
@13fpsgamer Yamaha does not make the DGX-630 anymore but some suppliers still sell them. They stop making the DGX-630 since June 2010 if this statement makes more sense to you.
sethland 1 year ago
@sethland That isn't really true I have played the DGX-630 and the DGX-640 side by side today and I haven't noticed any differences at the sound from the grand piano at all
13fpsgamer 1 year ago
@13fpsgamer the differences is the 640 has a i think more things and it's more of a powerful thing

@malorce What do you mean "this keyboard has got touch?" It has weighted graded hammer scale to feel like an acoustic piano keys.

ah ye, that was what I meant:) Thanks for quick reply!

I'm getting mine on November 6th. I hope I won't be disappointed, it's €150 more expensive than the seemingly identical DGX630
rooo1o 1 year ago
@rooo1o Congratulations!!!! You're going to enjoy this portable digital grand piano and you're not going to get disappointed with your purchase. It's the best digital piano and it came from a very world renowned manufacturer too. Why do you have to wait that long to receive your piano? It only took 7 days to ship(free) it to me. The Yamaha DGX-630 is only $50 less than the DGX-640 that's why I bought the newest model. I heard that the DGX-630 have problems with keys getting stuck together.
sethland 1 year ago
@sethland well it's €150 more here. and i gotta wait because my retailer doesn't have this in stock and each and every DGX640 are sold-out and ordered until november 6th :D i've heard some fantastic pianosounds coming outta this thing, that's why i ordered that! :D i'm gonna use MAGIX samplitude music studio 17 with that too! :D
rooo1o 1 year ago
@rooo1o That sucks!!! This piano must be a very popular item where you live. What does MAGIX Samplitude Music Studio 17 does? Sounds very interesting.
sethland 1 year ago
@sethland well, I can't really explain to you what it does, but it mentions the basic features of it in your DGX 640 manual and it tells you what you can do with it that program on the piano. I don't really know what it does yet but i'm sure it will be worth the €80.
rooo1o 1 year ago
good luck with it! hope you'll like the 640 just as much as i do!
