JUST under the surface of new Cob You can hear that larger then life great METAL that CoB used to come up with ,,,but something is missing that made Hatebreeder and FTR such an uplifting experience for me...same thing happened with black metal.. when that true darkness was gone demons where exorcised,,the edge was not there..same thing happend to Dimmu Borgir at Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, that pure beautiful melancholy that made For All Tid and Stormblast was gone when they got civilised.

I guess I should have been more specific, current cob stinks. They had decent stuff in the past. And I know a lot of better finnish bands, (in category of melodic death metal) ie. Catamenia, Cadacross, Kalmah (up untill black waltz) early Amorphis when they still played melo death.

But you're partly right in one thing, I'm more into folk and viking metal like finntroll and turisas. So I guess my view is slightly biased. Main thing is we both like metal so let's leave it at that, peace man.
