That just doesn't stand up to scrutiny. He's a successful property dealer and married to a rich heiress.....not to mention the decent royalties he gets from his Pistols legacy. You talk like he was an unemployed anarchist from Highbury. Far from it. Bill Hicks got it right when he said that all people involved in marketing should simply KILL THEMSELVES - filling this world with their crap and trying to sell us stuff we don't need. The young Rotten would utterly despise his older self.

Probably true that the young Johnny would despise who he is today..but when did the change take place? Not 2009, more like 1983, when he went on tour with hired hands and Martin Atkins, who (despite being a top rate drummer) was ridiculed by Lydon, Levene and Wobble back in their artsy days, and treated like a 4th rate stand in. Back then Lydon really would work for almost free, hence his $10,000 role in 'Cop Killer,' where he actually ate dog food. Be nice to see the original PiL cast again.

Lydon used the money to fund these gigs, without country life there would be no pil gigs, with a chance of more albums & tours in 2010 & beyond. You gotta take a longer realistic look at the state of the music industry.

god bless you for putting that vid on. i am speaking as a 46 year old new arrival to pil, introduced to them by my better half within the last few years as i never got punk at the time. I wish i did. Lydon is a fekin legg end! The gig was top for me and would be like all the best music, if you could see it several times....a grower.
