How's the MV Carrie Elizabeth @ Lewis and Clark? Still got the galley covered with enough nudie pics that you don't want to pick up a random rag to wipe your face with?
Thank you for the wonderful pictures! I recently went to Quincy, IL and I got to see several barges sail along the Mississippi. I simply enjoy watching barges sail along the Missippi or any river!
i worked in davant for a week with ubl and i had to wait for the tin trailers to cool down before i went to bed because the a/c vents ran throught the roof and at the end of the day it just blew out hot air. had to wait til sunset before it got comfortable enough to attemp to sleep. it was in july of 06
i currently work for artco and have for 5yrs i love the work and the money im been from st. paul to st louis and hope to go south for the winter of 09 the life of a towboater nothin like it great pics
@999badassrebel was thinking of applying there. i use to work the great lakes as a deckhand. do you guys work winters at artco or do you just work the seven months straight than hang it up or all year round. and if you live in mn would they hire you do you know. thanks
Nice pics , Lewis & Clark now huh ? i think one of their fleet boats was built at Kody shipyard in Harvey La. but thats me thinking , nice pics though.
the katherine b wayne was brought up in january from down near new orleans somewhere. yeah i had to try the harbor life and have no complaints thus far.
Wow! That was very nice! Just curious, When you worked for UBL,...Were you always with the same boat? I've never been on a towboat before but was always facinated by them! Seems like all of you folks on the rivers are alot of fun & always have a few humorous coments to those of us watching at the lock & dams,......
most of the time. sometimes they put you on another boat on your days off if needed or you wanted to work extra. some companies i think put people on different boats each trip but im not for sure
Oh OK,...Thank you for that info! I've always wondered about that! You guys working on the towboats are a great bunch of people!
I notice at the 2:54 time frame you got the Andrew Canava,.... I caught that very boat back in Nov. 08 near Geno Wi. Also caught the Ardyce Randall locking at Geno Wi. I've got them on a video on my channel. I'm hoping to get alot more this year to post.
used to, i work in st.louis harbor with lewis & clark now. worked for ubl for about 4 and a half years. all but a handfull of trips were spent on the ohio.
life on the water. live life baby. this is who we are. good job guys

Great pics. Nice to see things from the river and not from a drydock. I just did some work on the Canava a couple of weeks ago.
