This is what commonly perceived by first year or second year undergrads who tend to link DoF with freedom of movement. In some cases like the vibration of a pipe, it is correct to think DoF in this way. However, DoF is a much more general concept.
This is not the original version of the code that is provided in "9DOF AHRS Code Base" . It is obvious that you have done some modifications. The one in Code Base does not working like that.

All I saw on the screen is roll, pitch, raw values. What other 6DOF?
Could this sensor provide velocity and position in 3D x,y,z axes?

@whynotmeutube 9DOF stands for the number of axis the sensors read.
In this case its 3D Accelerometer, 3D gyrometer, 3D magnetometer, thus 9D in total.

i got the imu today.
i conencted it via ftdi 3,3v and edited the python file to 38400baud and my com port.
when i starting it, the GUI opens and in the comand window is the menu with points 1,2,3,4,5. im trying to select a point but its doesnt work.
how can i get it to run ? or must i flash a new firmware?
