Bomb-Sliding

This was in Melee as well. It's just jump canceling your bomb toss animation, and that changes some of the momentum from your jump into a slide.

The order should actually be Dash, Jump, and immediately after, C-stick the direction you wish to throw the bomb.

Works the same way jump cancel grabs did in Melee.

P.S: This also works with any character, just that glide tossing is better because the momentum from a dodge roll is much greater horizontally than a jump. As thechene commented before, Link can't glide toss, so this is his weaker alternative.

I succeeded in using this tech before it was even discovered.

The problem is I could only do it once. Every other time he either throws the bomb down or throws it forward and still does the 'up throwing' animation

Link and Toon Link was different from everyone else's. if u try to do a normal glide toss with these two characters, u'll find that it doesn't work. but don't worry, there is another way. to glide toss with the bomb, u must run and when u throw the bomb, u must be holding a jump button. this will cause Link or Toon Link to slide forward but still throw the bomb forward.

if u want bomb slide on the ground with tlink then u can drop the bomb on the ground and dair next to it to whatever directions u want

also u can drop the bomb when sum1s about to get on the edge and then theyll fly up and u can easily spike em. just remember if u miss u die.

this technique can be done so you throw the bomb backwards aswell

@thechene you do know waterman37's right. thats just another method of glide tossing...not "Bomb-Sliding" there are like 3 methods of glide tossing. if you don't move with link, then you've done it wrong. certain characters need more precise inputs or need to try the other 2 methods of glide tossing

Ya sorry, chene, i thought i remembered seeing something similar. I even watched this very video. The thing that threw me off was your whole different button config and the fact that i only remembered the bombs being thrown straight up not forward. So ya you beat me to it i just didn't realize it. If you want me to take it down just ask.

yeah, you can slide and throw up, forward or back with any item.

some characters slide like nowhere (snake)

others slide a lot (DK i hear)

ok cool u can dash and whatever but I dont see any use for the technique. first of all you land on your oponent face and throw a bomb up. fool you can get hit easily

the upthrow is good for escaping and setting up a bomb to work around. It's also good against aerial opponents.

It's not in this video but i discovered how to slide away while throwing a bomb behind you. You finish the slide facing your opponent. That is a useful spacing move.
