Don't be silly we privatised the railways we've had 25 years of cutting edge innovation and price reduction as only a highly competitive free-market can deliver. Why would the government possibly even need to consider such a project?

another waste of billions, this technology is already 25 years out of date, to be building outdated technology today is a joke.why do we need to take this carbon bollox seriously when they are building diesel powered trains? if you are going to build new build maglev which is already on its 3rd generation.

@dikkydoo1 Maglev can be very fast, is very energy efficient, and you will NEVER hear an excuse of leaves on the line, wrong kind of rain / snow or anything else. It's very expensive to build though.
