you could have gone into the cave that's through the forest near treno and gotten the scorpio stellazio which gives you the blood sword I think... or maybe it's something else but in that cave you get 2 ethers aswell.

Having just watched a few of these videos back to back, I came up with a question which I am sure someone will know the answer here.... Dagger has Summon abilities, but her MP is too low to use them... Is it possible to Level grind with her here in order to get her to a stage where she has enough MP to cast them (it would be sequence breaking a little)? Or is it that her MP is capped so never to get that high, at this point of the game?

@TheFlamingRedExtreme You can grind until she has enough MP. I once were able to summon Shiva and Ifrit due to levelgrinding for no appearent reason. SO yes, it's possible.

You can't get back into the Ice Cavern. After you defeated Black Waltz 1, it started defrosting. A Dali villager will stop you, saying that it may collapse if you try to enter. And iirc, you can't get in from the valley (the way you got in before) either.

Noting the MP Attack ability, when it's equipped onto Freya, it doesn't work with her jump command, meaning yet another reason to hate that move. But seriously, I decided to change my main DPS at the end of the game to Freya, but she was underleveled but with MP Attack, she brought down DA HOUSE!
