I wouldn't bother worrying about anything Smart Parts related and I'd highly recommend not buying a Smart Parts marker because as of a few months ago they went bankrupt, sorry to break the news to you if you wanted a Smart Parts marker, but I'd figure I'd tell you as to inform you on whats happened, if you'll notice, they haven't updated their website since last March when the news about the new Impulse came out.
from what I see, when the feeder stops feeding, the motor is still spinning but at a certain point the motor makes the feeder spin again. so i thought that the constant gripping and releasing of the feeder to the motor would cause it to burn the motor up. kind of like if you were to pull in and let go of the clutch none stop on a dirt bike
@gigitygigitygou When you do that with a bike, the load on the gas motor is reduced so the motor spins up and revs higher, and the clutch is more likely to burn out.
Electric motors run differently. They are fine if they run at their max RPMS (it's like running the loader without any paint on it). They are worse under stall conditions.
The clutch is also different here. It's a metal plate and magnets. It can't wear out like the friction material in a motorcycle clutch. We have had these loaders with clutches running for years and we don't have any problems with them stopping working or burning out.
In fact we have less motor problems now then we have ever had before.
@manike99 Just want to let you guys know that a Motor is electric powered and an engine is fuel powered.
But how would an electric motor burn out? It's just a magnet, metal (steal isn't it?), and copper wire that the electricity runs through making the shaft rotate.
hey whats the point of the clutch system??? i mean i think you'd feed the balls faster if you just had it spining freely eh? or is it to also prevent jams and to prevent that popcorn effect?
It does help to reduce popcorning but it also allows you to feed faster and more consistently without the risk of breaking paint in the loader, gun's breech or barrel.
Most barrel breaks are actually caused by the loader. The clutch system significantly reduces barrel breaks .
can you explain how is helps prevent barrell breaks? i didnt quite get that part too much, i mean the barrell and the loader are like the two farthest things apart from eachother ;)
Almost every single ball break we have filmed or captured on high speed didn't start at the point at which you see paint in the barrel.
The majority of paintballs that break in the barrel are pre-cracked, by the loading by the hopper or the bolt clipping the second ball in the stack.
The Magna clutch system reduces both loading fractures, clipping fractures (because it reduces the forces pushing down on the balls in the stack) and breaking balls in the hopper itself.
i got my empire reloader b in a trade and it jams like crazy! the motor is still running strong and it doesnt seem burnt out. so if i buy one of these would it fix it?
It will help significantly, but if the loader is jamming like crazy it makes me think something else might be wrong with it too that needs addressing.
Is the drive cone stock and the drive spring properly wound?
:) lmao, yeah that would DEFINITELY have been the problem.
Since you don't have the spring and beads and you need to install an anti-jam system anyway you should definitely get the Freeway anti-jam. It is far superior. :)
Don't be offended Makike, I'm sure it took countless hours or R&D, but the final product is a seemingly simple design, no hoses, banjo fittings, or delicate wire placement and all that BS. You definitely proved it's all unneccesary. I love how you can just remove the 2 screws holding the grip to the frame and easily slide the complete body off without even having to remove a single wire, your battery, or anything. Very clever design, job well done.
I love how you designed the mini, it's so easy to work on and adjust, even a child could do it after being showed a couple of times.
I traded for a used one and loved it so much I HAD to sell it, just to help pay for a new one. Check my Vid, 15 BPS stock on auto, accurately I might add.
It was keeping up with my Virtued Shocker, I wasn't using a V35 with the Shocker, but was with the Mini vid.
If it jams all the time with paintballs then something is wrong. If it jams with reballs, then yes the Freeway will really help that.
The Freeway will help prevent jams under all conditions, but if the loader is jamming anyway with paint, the freeway may not be the only thing you need/want to get it fixed.
hey man, i won a prophecy in a tournament ive used it about 5 times, it jams in a way because if for some reason there isnt a ball in the breach of your gun, even after the hopper is on, it wont shoot, its happened to me many of times
this product works great but to get really consistent feeding with reballs you should make a new top part of the raceway that extends on the opposide side(from the freeway) that channels balls better down in the raceway. i had quite a few pinches(not jams) that took a little second to clear. adding a nice 1/8' on the left side of the top would likely clear this problem
im using a reloader b with magna clutch kit and freeway.
is empire thinking about doing something like the rotors? they have two rotating arms its truly amazing!the arms spin in opposite directions for a sure no jam and it doesent use screws to keep it together so you never need a tool to take it apart!
No. This system is designed to flex in when a ball hits it, as well as up to help partially dropped balls fit into the outlet by "springing" them down and into place. This reduces jams too.
A rigid system like in the velocity will jam more often and would simply slice the top of the ball off if it partially loaded and you kept driving it.
The way this system flexes is gentler on paint and more forgiving for partially loaded balls.
No. The gun is shooting non stop. It's amazing to see and understand when everything is slowed down so much.
When the clutch is engaging it's simply the time between two balls being fired!
The drive cone is stopped and the clucth allows the drive to slip even though the motor is running at full speed. The fact the motor can keep running is why the loader is so fast. We don't have to stop and start the motor to avoid crushing paint.
wow thats awsome but i have a question if i had a halo and since im shooting a smarparts vibe it will hit 11 bps currently with the stock board capped at 11 bps but with the clutch system will it push a ball pass the detens? coz the detens arent sticking out as much only a lil bit enough for like a VL evolution 2 or 3 to not push a ball pass the detents but when im shooting at 11 bps and stop and the halo it still spinning for a even a lil bit will the clutch system prevent a ball pas the detent
Yes the clutch system significantly reduces the force on the balls. It makes it far less likely for the balls to be pushed past the detents. You can set the clutch system to be as gentle as you need. You can set it to have less force than the evolution if you want. If you want to run a clutch system with very low force you really do need to have the free way antijam though. With very low clutch settings you may not have enough force to push the balls past the old anti-jam system.
ok now i dont know much about how a loader works but everytime the clutch system was engaged and hte balls stopped feeding for the split second does it mean there was a jam?
but i like jam

wouldn't that damage the motor of the loader after playing speedball matches for a while.
gigitygigitygou 2 years ago
@gigitygigitygou Actually no, it is better for the motor to be able to keep running without stalling, than to stall it for every ball fed.

manike99 2 years ago
each drop test i do, theres a jam.
and yes, the drive cone is stock. and the drive spring is properly wound.
Matster2213 2 years ago
Drop tests are marketing hype BS by the companies with inferior products and the worst possible way to test a loader or to see it's true performance.
The only real way to verify the performance, and what counts the most is on gun.
Does it jam on gun?
The drive spring in the loader is so fast in a drop test that it can cause jams that would never occur on gun in real conditions.

ok i just took some shots yesterday, and i had one jam. and it was a full hopper

does this come with an rf?
paintballa112233 2 years ago
The Freeway anti-jam is a small plastic piece that you fit into the loader itself. It will fit in any Halo B, Empire B, or Magna.
The Magna has RF. The others can have RF but you need a new board for them (the Magna board).

thats such crazy pressure on the ball stack
lostdistortion 2 years ago
In it's standard configuration it is actually far less pressure on the ball stack than any other force feed loader. :)
It's also fully adjustable!
This is why you can shoot really fast, but not break paint.

paintball1757 2 years ago
it looks like its not feeding lol
paintball1757 2 years ago
Yep, that's because of how much it is slowed down.
It's actually very interesting and explains how the loader actually stops and starts when feeding.
This is REALLY important when it comes to how the electronics of a loader turns it on and off.
The reason it looks like it's not feeding is because the bolt is closing off the breach of the gun inbetween balls being fired.
manike99 2 years ago

Check out my videos on the new Empire Prophecy. It doesn't have a single screw, nut or bolt anywhere in it. It's also much lighter!
It also doesn't even jam with reballs at high 20+ bps shooting.
