The clutch? Awesome....It wasn' an AOD, it was at T-5 from the factory. I just put in a 3550 for a year, but har troubles with it so I went to the t-56 6speed. The adjuster on the firewall helps, but I have only had to tighten up a little one about 2 months after breaking it in.

I have a very similar setup myself.. but I don't think your really anywhere near 700 HP. the block would be in pieces. 450 is pretty much the limit for stock blocks but I have of course seen 550 -600 hp last a little while before cracking. But I am sure you car is plenty fast without the extra 200 to 300 extra estamated HP. Still a very nice car.
That's a nice motor. You should have the main girdle on it too, I think the DSS is a full inch think. When you really start to push it, look into the lifter vally girdle. It's easy to install, and prevents block from splitting (most 2 bolt main blocks actually split in the lifter vally first). The main cap helps a lot, but that just forces the flex and high rpm distortion to the top of the block. They run about $300 or so if I remember right.
You my friend are a fucking idiot. I had a nearly stock 94 cobra with a s-trim make over 500hp to the tire. There is no reason a 331 with aluminum heads etc etc can't make over 700hp. As a matter fact if it didn't I would drop the car off for scrap metal.

I run it to 7200K shift after shift, passing vette's, cobra and amg's every day on the way home. Built to last, that's for sure. The only metal on metal is the straight cut gearset, not some pussy quiet blower or a useless roots type.

Whistle would be a better description....your right on that. As far as the GTP sound, come on, they are near silent unless you pulley them. Even then they are only efficient to 12psi before they over heat the air. GTPs are for women (my wife has an 05 comp G,so I know what I am talking about) and she thinks it's slow.
Getting real is hitting 140 in less than 10 sec,and still having a 5th and 6th gear. So, come on dude,get a real muscle car,not a baby transporter and then come talk crap.
Nothing wrong with it. It was just rebuilt by vortech about a year ago, it is just that loud. V1-T, race M spec. This is not a 6 or 9psi SQ or roots style. It consistantly pushes 19-20psi (even on hot days) without a problem... and no, there is no impeller rubbing, boost at idle, (14-15inch of vacumme), and there is no belt slipping until about 6800rpm (shifts are at 7k)

if you want 700Hp and an engine to last you'll prolly have to go the "Dart" route.
I have a DSS LVL20 331 Probullet and it only hazza safe limit of 600hp. So far I don't need anymore than 550...so far..but nice car still.
