A Kenne bell S/C and sticky tires should do it, but we can sit around and make up "what if's" all day. Just do it.

@danteemcgee - Thats incorrect. The 2007 Shelby GT500 came from the factory with a 5.4 supercharged motor. Although I am having difficulty telling if this is a shelby GT500. Looks like a regular GT with a Shelby front end kit.
But then again its a built 408, I doubt the GT500 had any engine mods. maybe at most bolt-ons, pulley, tune and possibly gears. while the Vette has a built engine probably a 4.10 reared and weights probably 400lbs lighter or even less..

It may not have been a fair race, but it's run what ya brung. It's not the vette's fault that the guy in the Shelby wanted to race. I'm a Ford guy all the way, but if anything is going to be different, that guy needs a huge power increase to make up the weight difference. A Kenne bell S/C and sticky tires should do it, but we can sit around and make up "what if's" all day. Just do it.
P.S. - A GT500 is not a Cobra

My Jeep weighs 300-500 lbs less than any Corvette that these engines were attached to and it weighs almost 1,000 lbs less than a Camaro SS.... So it has a higher "torque to weight" ratio, if you can wrap your mind around that
The LS6 peaks torque 385 lb-ft at 4800 rpm
The LS2 peaks torque 400 lb-ft at 4400 rpm
The LS3 peaks torque 425 lb-ft at 4600 rpm.
I peak torque 360 lb-ft @ 2800-3000 rpm.

Are you guys seriously that fuckin stupid? Can't you hear the supercharger when the Cobra flys by? Can't you see the word "Shelby" in the back at 1:44? That was one flaw that Ford should have corrected. If you put that much power in the motor, stick it to the ground. As for the Corvette, it would have done the same damn thing with a supercharger. @paladain55 weight isn't the issue if you reversed it the out come would still be the same the corvette has a way more superior suspension if you notice in the drag race the mustang spins the tires at the start and the vett doesn't! Suspension is one of the biggest factors in a race car

And that GT500 has a list of mods done on top of that.
But, bottom line it wasn't a fair race since the GT500 did have a supercharger and the vette was motor only. LOL!

@danteemcgee - Thats incorrect. The 2007 Shelby GT500 came from the factory with a 5.4 supercharged motor. Although I am having difficulty telling if this is a shelby GT500. Looks like a regular GT with a Shelby front end kit.

@rmsman you realize all a positive DISPLACEMENT blower really does is simulate displacement like a bigger engine. 5.4L ford + 2.1L supercharger is 7.5L vs what is the zo6 a 7.0L? still half a liter more yes, but a lot "more fair" when you think of it in those terms.

Okay I just want to put this out there... That mustang probably has close to 600hp (500 if its stock) and the Vette destroyed it in every aspect... I am a mustang guy all the way but that is fucking impressive. The vette started about 10 cars back on the highway and they both started from a roll at the same time and the vette caught the shelby within seconds
