  • How can watching this kill me?

  • that was very well put together. :claps:

  • i hated the brain of morbius and the horror of fang rock but fuckin' loved revenge of the cybermen

  • love this story. got it on dvd

    love your music

  • This is one of the best Dr Who stories ever . This has got something to do with the fact that its based on one of the best ever horror stories written , Mary Shellys Frankenstein, which is engrained in most peoples consciousnesses. Also as to all the comments about how sexy Liz Sladen is , she was and still is very pretty but I am afraid shes a bit too skinny for my taste- still , each to his own!

  • Seeing so many beautiful redheads is amazing. What I wouldn't give to have been there with them!!!!!

  • "Unless one Doctor can save them all from the writer of Horror of Fang Rock"

Yes he's a pretty scary writer!

(Sorry, punctuation..! I couldn't resist! Great vid tho, and great episode!)

  • yes yes, you are clever... ;P

  • "artificial brain case" :)

  • This was the first Tom Baker Doctor Who I ever saw and let me say that I was struck (among other things) by the sheer brilliance of the plot. I thought it was absolutely the best story line ever. But, now this isn't a compliment, I find it hard to believe that the press was raving about how terrifying it was.

  • Sarah Jane looks hot in those tight pants! AND...she gets tied up! Woo-Hoo!

  • Especially at the end of episode 1...

  • @UncleLew

Sarah was always a hottie. :3

  • Liz Sladen is so good as SJS that her sexiness is understated. She is subtle-but-not-shy in using revealing tight pants to flash the camera in ways that agitate male hormones. Notable are Planet/Evil, Android Invasion & Brain/Morbius.

The mini-skirted and bikini types flash a sexy facade, but it's only a show.

Liz Sladen though, is genuinely sexy-as-hell. Surprisingly so for a woman married 40+ years! The daring Liz onscreen just doesn't click with a 40 year monogamous marriage.

  • Same sorta marriage Kurt Russel and Goldie Hawn has. They been married for years as well.

I like how Liz wears those rather tight jeans on SJA. :3

  • Tight jeans, leather and boots on SJA! Incredible that a now 60+ year old woman actually has a better figure and oozes "Sexy" better than women 1/3 her age, don't you think?

Never heard of anything sensational concerning Liz; she seems so normal in appearances. Have to admit that Liz's husband, Brian Miller does seem the cuckold type!

Liz's autobiography is due out this year. May be VERY interesting reading! But then Liz seems very private off screen, so the book may just be career rehash.

  • This trailer is brilliant! And you definately chose one of the best episodes. One of the most gothic Who stories of the time, and the most adult I may add, along with Seeds of Doom.

The trailers for Doc Who now are rubbish, you should do them, bring a bit of excitement onto our telly secreens!

  • That music is shit & are we all dead now that we've seen this?

  • One of the best WHO stories ever, and a genuine DrWho masterpiece, from an incredible era in WHO history when such masterpiece productions were common.

Starting with "Time Warrior" in Season 11 and ending with "Talons of Weng Chiang" in Season 14, there are so many well-written stories capable of standing alone, that it would be easy to make an All time "Top Ten" WHO list from those four seasons.

  • glnelson1956, thought you were overstating it a bit there, until I reflected:

Time Warrior, Ark in Space, Genesis of the Daleks, Terror of the Zygons, Planet of Evil, Pyramids of Mars, Brain of Morbius, Seeds of Doom, Masque of Mandragora, Robots of Death,Talons of Weng Chiang.

You make a good point as to the incredibly consistent quality and great stories over in those 4 Seasons!

  • i have got this on dvd for my birthday and really liked it!

  • One of Tom Bakers best adventures and one of my favorite DrWho stories. I had always assumed that some of those faces on the mind-contest machine were Morbius , why should they all be the Doctors after all ? One of them I recall had a moustache , non of the Doctors we know ever had a moustache so I assumed that was Morbius?

Also did anyone realise that Colin Fay who played Condo was the local policeman from All Creatures Great and Small for years?

  • colin fay is the MAN! my signature on my email for the past 11 or 12 YEARS has been "You've been looking for that arm AGAIN, haven't you?!" HA HA!

  • @evilejfan Caves of Androzani is better but this is great.

  • @Cryer24597 Caves of Androzani is definitely the best show from Peter Davison's era, hands down. But there are about 11 shows from Seasons 12,13 &14 that are even better in my view, including Brain of Morbius. The Hinchcliffe-Holmes production era had an incredible creative imagination and fearlessness that was the peak of Classic Who.

I know some will view the Hinchcliffe-Holmes era with less favor and I respect that. But I think all will agree that era was unique in DW history.

  • @coltperc I never said I viewed the era with less favour, my top 5 stories ever would include Genesis of the Daleks, The Brain of Morbius and The Seeds of Doom. I personally just think that The Caves of Androzani is a masterpiece of television and even outclasses those wonderful stories. Androzani is also the official best Dr who story ever as voted in polls.

But it's all a matter of opinion really.

  • @Cryer24597 That is very true. The "Best" and "Top Ten" WHO's vary from poll to poll, year to year. Now I personally rate the all-time best WHO's in broadcast order and avoid trying to put one above the others. I did this simply because my own "Top Ten" WHO list shifted from time to time.

  • @bigwoolleypenguin

nice to see some one else thinks the way i do, i watched this as a kid and I always assumed it was morbius's past selves - largely due to the line "your puny mind is powerless against the strength of morbius" and then all these strange faces appear

  • actuly allthough terrince dicks did write this story

Robert Holmes redited alot of it.

which is why its credited as 'roben bland'

  • perfect trailer, i cant think of any way to improve that

  • tyvm!!

  • SO looking forward to seeing this story on dvd in july! mainly because i'm looking forward to the OTHER dr who season finale, Vengeance of Morbius, the final story of the 2nd season of the 8th Doctor audio series. quite frankly i'm surprised he didn't make a return appearance in the original show: ok, so he died, but so did the master! PLENTY of times!

  • weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! morbius AND the master mentioned in the same post!!! my two loves!!

  • Waaaa! Do you hav the whole episode? It's one of the only ones ive not seen!!!

  • When the Dr. faces Morbius in the mind bending contest, 8 former lives, 8 faces, 8 doctors are shown going back from the first television Dr. William Hartnell.

That makes Tom Baker the 12th Doctor and Peter Davidson the 13th. That should have been the end of the regenerations.

Colin Baker is the 14th, Sylvester McCoy 15th, Paul McGann 16th, Chris Eccleson the 17th and David Tenant the 18th. From Colin to the current these Doctors are living beyond the 12th regeneration.

  • not true... many folks speculate that most of the faces shown are actually those of morbius... and i believe that!

  • The faces are clearly the Dr's. They are interspersed with Tom Baker's face, and many of them resemble Tom or the other Dr's. As they are showing Morbius says "how long have you lived, Dr. how far back can we go?"

  • nope you need to do some research dude and dont rely on just your own opinions...

  • i dunno if its just the way my video was edited (because my copy was cut so half the content isnt present (tho it actually made the episode better) but the other faces came up as Morbius speaks the line "ur mind is useless next to the mind or Morbius" or something like that.

so that would further make me believe that it shows morbius beating the doctor with his breadth of expience across his various lives

  • Those aren't just that user's opinions. They are also the opinion of the producer of that serial, Philip Hinchcliffe who considered them to be unseen incarnations of the Doctor from before Hartnell's time.

Fast-forward a few months to The Deadly Assassin and they bring in the 12 regenerations/13 incarnations and the idea is dropped, forcing fandom to come up with the idea that they are Morbius's regenerations

  • wich makes it cannon wich is why i believe it to be the truth... ;P

  • I agree with you after I saw that part of the episode here on you tube. I never saw this in color before and that part was probably cut out. It is interesting to see the doctor's past lives. You can say the 10the 10th doctor is really the 10th doctor that had epidoes about him and one had a movie on tv and the ones Hartnell were only pictures show on that episode.

  • well lets face it their are many continuity errors in doctor who

n tbh from being a kid to modern day i genuinely believed they were supposed to be Morbius not the doctors past lives

  • dood if you have only seen the eidited version of BoM then you NEEEEEED to get the right one!!! its like a whole different story!!

  • iv seen the whole version

looking forward to the dvd release

but in all fairness the edit is still great

    nice fast pace 2 it

  • I belived it was Morbius's past lives too. I could tell by when the way the camera poinits to his brain or the doctor's face.

  • love it. scary as hell but it is wonderful

  • awsome but not my fav

  • Very good!:)

Although using "from the producer of Revenge of the Cybermen"... :D

  • That was superb.

  • why thank you.. *blush*

  • That's fantastic! =D
