Agreed to disagree, I feel they are one in the same. MSNBC challenged Bush during his presidency and Fox didn't, and now roles have reversed.
But all news is biased. People watch what they agree with. Fox appeals to the conservatives for ratings and MSNBC appeals to the liberals. Anyone who expects actual news from these shows is completely misguided.
You missed the apostrophe. The only reason I pointed that out was because you made an idiotic response to my comment without saying anything relevant to the comment. I gave my opinion and you chose not to give yours.
yeah, i know that. thats why i mentioned punctuation. my response wasnt idiotic, your comment was. and that was my opinion; i think youre mentally retarded. "nuff said" indeed.

the liberals are the ones who are devolving this debate into a hateful yelling contest where conservatives like beck and hannity are saying "calml down lets have a civil discussion" while brownshirts like olberman and maddow use hateful smeart attacks to try to discredit free speech and patriotism, during the election mccain NEVER used personal attacks against obama or anyone else, but obama wasnt kind enough to return the favor by calling mccain a traitor, learn some civility libs
OK, you've given yourself away. There's no way you can seriously believe that Beck is the calm voice in the discussion or that President Obama called McCain a traitor.
You must be playing the role of "stupid conservative."
That was the best analysis of this news story that I've seen. Bush Primus DID spawn what would become Fox and ran the nastiest campaign in '88 that the US had seen in a long time.
Dr Bushenstein created the monster and now he's upset that it's running amok in the village!
Don't know about you guys, but I'm not going to trust a news channel can get something as simple as a lot wrong when the first text comes up. I mean seriously a lot is not hard to do.
It is "ugly" and Cenk is up to his neck in the ugliness. George H is a real man with a real resumé . He was even a ww2 bomber pilot who flew multiple combat missions over Europe. Rachel Madow is just a whiney dyke who has done nothing with her life except yap about subjects she knows nothing about. Complaining nasally whiney butch dyke.
People on the other side like Beck need ridiculed. If we just let asses like Beck and Hannity go around spewing their half truths and propaganda and not speak up then they seem legitamate(which they are far from). Everytime someone like HWBush comes out with this hypocrisy we need to speak up and say no this is not so! If you do nothing then you get sucked into war on lies, ect!
I like Olberman and Maddow, but I really do think they are too much in the pocket of the left. The difference between what they do and what Fox does, is that they make it clear it is opinion, and don't try to organize hatred for the other side. They just ridicule the other side.
It isn't Maddow or Olberman's fault that HW Bush's son was such a failure! It's not their fault that Bush/Cheney lied to take us to war, that they ignored intel that could have prevented 911, that he sat at his ranch and partied as the ppl died from Katrina, that they tortured. I could go on and on. Bush/Cheney are responsible for their own mistakes. They earned the lowest approval rating of any President/Vice President in history. Even as Faux carried their water.
See if you're a conservative and it's liberals being slandered and bashed, that's awesome, but if it happens to conservatives it is UNACCEPTABLE.
Just like how they cried after August when (gasp) a couple of GOP town halls got protesters speaking up. Wait wait, you were only instructed to picket the other guys, not us! Whiiiiiiine!!!
Maddow is one of the most civil pundits on television--and even though Olbermann can get pretty snarky to compare him to Beck, O'Reilly or Hannity is delusional.
I also hate him. I hate very few people, as I believe there is enough hate already to go around. But he is definitely worthy of hate. Everything he spews from his mouth is pure poison.
I think ol' George the 1st is losing his shit upstairs. If he doesn't want people to criticize his dipshit son, maybe he shouldn't have raised such a fucking retard. Yeah, I'm engaging in name-calling. But I'm not a former president. Lol
OMG< This is the biggest hypocrisy I have ever heard. Unbelievable. What about all the insane Glenn Beck spears? And then there is Hannity (whom attended reular meetings at the Bush whitehouse to get their propaganda points). BTW- Few ppl know that HWBush went to Iran and paid them millions of dollars to hold the hostages 6 months longer than need be so it would appear that Regan obtained their release(which he didn't). So HW isn't imune to contraversy.

Olbermann has the most bizarre delusional logic I've ever heard. according to Keith the reason he's the most smug, arrogant, egotistical, hateful, childish, cowardly, obnoxious bratty slob on cable news today is all George HW Bush's fault. that makes as much sense as him claiming that his show is #1 if you disregard every single show on FOX News.
he still comes in 3rd every night anyway so I guess he's actually #2 if you don't count FOX.
Ok ok fiction we get it. You like fox news, you think they're 100% right everyone else is biased against fox news and the republicans. We got you loud and clear.
Just do yourself a massive favour and stop watching TYT.
It is obvious where the lack of civility is, the conservatives, some carrying firearms, are articulate, composed and self-restrained. The Progressives go to Pittsburgh to throw rocks, stinkbombs and set dumpster on fire and roll them down hills.
I'm concerned about H.W. He seems to be walking with a cane permanently now. I hope he is not really ill. I don't like his politics, but I hate to see people suffer.
Olbermann can be... intense, sometimes... but very rarely does he take the "low road" either, from what I can see. I realize everyone has their bias, but I just see an intense guy, to be honest, and that intimidates people who aren't intense.
Come on you have to understand he was defending his son.I would call then sick puppies too if they were talking about my boy all the time.I LOVE Rachel but Bush is going to stick up his boy.I would too.
they were both Presidents. its not the same thing as picking on just anybody's son. you can't have your son be president of the united states and fuck up so royally, and than when people call him out on it say "thats my son. i don't care if he committed war crimes, thats my boy." not allowed.
... okay, this isn't difficult. Kids have to learn right from wrong. Bush Jr. obviously does NOT know right from wrong, regardless of his age. He does not need sheltering or protection from his father, especially at his age, from his own actions and the consequences of them.
I'm not calling him a "kid," like a 7 year old or something. I'm calling him Bush Seniors "kid," because he is. Understand?
wiiide attention was the open mic thing and calling a reporter an A-hole and cheney nodding to that???
-there is no comparisson, that is just the neocons tactic;;;;f.ex.: you meet a person that has never read a newspaper, and you have about 2000 times, for the sake of "conversation", civility and politeness you`ll probably likely , stay in this verbal exchange, though this person points out that all papers just write lies.
the inventor of willie hortonization calling other people "sick puppies". Maybe he has just lost his mind, time to put him out to pasture. lots of nice old folks homes around.
now is obama a better president then bush? i would say yes. the real question is is obama effective? i would say no. regardless of what you thought of bushs policies( and i thought him wrong accross the board) or the legality of things bush did(much of which i thought was illegal, where's the investigation eric holder?) bush was effective in getting his polices passed. obamas constant wanting to be bipartisan is not working, republicons just keep saying no. time for obama to grow a spine...
While you do make a good point, it would have been far better if Bush hadn't had a spine either. I wouldn't go that far, either. He had maniacle underlings that made sure to get the most extreme vision passed possible. All he did was sit at his desk planning raids on the kitchen while Cheney and Rove acted as his spine.
i know what you mean but with obama it is amounting to nothing much, yes he's better tham nush yet he has no spine and neither do any of his underlings. they could pass some legislature that might actually help if they get thier heads out of thier asses and drop the let's be bipartisan bullshit. the republicans don't want to be bipartisan. they want what they want regardless of anyone else. so obama and his administration need to start ramming stuff thru like the bush admin did...
and not everything obama wants is necessarily good either. if we got a public option for healthcare it would be good but we're not because he's so concerned about being bipartisan. also ending both wars today and bringing home the troops would have freed up money for healthcare if he was really serious about healthcare reform. obama is great at making speeches bu seems to run short in the getting things done department...
My only answer is that Obama has been in, what... 9 months now? Bush had 8 YEARS to screw things up. Give the man a full presidential term before you regard him as ineffective.
grantedthings may change all i can tell you is what i see right now. are you going to make excuse for obama just like all the bushies made for bush? so far obama has been ineffective you can agree or disagree. all i'm saying is i hope he gets off his ass and actually accomplishes something. all he does is talk so far. take it as you will....
Don't get me wrong, I'm frustrated with his inaction. He said he would do many things, and quickly, and those many things seem more like few. I realize the healthcare battle is huge, but the president should keep his word.
And don't tell me I'm making excuses, I more than recognize his inactivity. As someone who's lost family and friends in Bush's wars, I still long maintain that a less-active Obama is a godsend in comparison to a bash-his-way-through Bush, hands down.
and yet you make excuses for obama, if you agree with what he is doing then what is wron with pushing thru his policies like bush would have? this does not make him george bush if he is actually trying to help americans. bush was not ,bush was a self serving fool that only cared about his wealthy friends. obama needs to stop pussyfooting with republicans and get things done...
Again, not excuses. I've ALREADY told you I realize he has his own issues.
I get why you're peeved, but don't take it out on me. I'd prefer Obama be more active, yes, but I'd still take an inactive Obama over an active Bush. I'm not sure why this is so hard for you to get, considering how you feel about Bush's decisions.
one other thing. bush was in office 9 months and was in office for 9/11. he and his admin ignored warnings about bin laden wanting to strike at america using planes as weapons. would you be willing to say it's ok because bush was only in office 9 months? you are either effective or not you either make things work or not.
the comparison is compatable and you can't use the excuse it's only been 9 months....
I'm not sure why you're being so hostile. Of course its not okay that Bush ignored warnings about 9-11. By that standard, by your logic here, Bush was NOT effective at what he did because 9-11 occurred. Its a contradiction in your argument, so I'm not sure how you justify that.
All I said was give the man one presidential term before you judge him as ineffective. I don't think this is too much to expect.
i'm not being hostile nor is this example a contradiction to my argument. all i was doing by using it is showing you that you cannot use the 9 month excuse for obama getting nothing done otherwise you'd have to use the sme excuse for bush. i hope you can see that....
You also have to consider the mindset of our culture pre-9-11 and post-9-11. The high intensity stress we have today didn't exist before 9-11, so Bush "doing little" was kind of the norm. We'd had several "do nothing" presidents that will be forgotten for it. Bush, I doubt, will be forgotten... heroes and villians alike are remembered.
I realize this topic dredges up a lot of personal feelings... I have them myself. So no worries, I do understand.
i just want to say one thing about incivility it's not restricted to one side. now i am not fond of obama and i totally disagreed with gwb and his policies but when it comes down to it the left was just as uncivil to gwb as the right is being towards obama. now in my opinion gwb was a horrible president, also in my opinion obama is not doing much better at least gwb showed some spine and pushed thru what he wanted. obama cannot seem to do this.neither is/was doing americas will though...
Btw, to anyone who is actually involved with the war on terror mess Bush created... as well as those BURYING their family members and friends... I'd say Obama is a godsent, effective or otherwise. As yet he hasn't insulted the entire world or started unnecessary wars, so he's a keeper.
I doubt Bush has ever seen Olberman's or Maddow's shows. Someone probably told him they were "liberal fanatics" so he'd use them for talking points. It's revealing though, that the Repubs see them as being a threat.
I couldn't care less what GHW Bush has to say. He is up there with the worst Presidents we've ever had. He has no grasp of civil rights. He even says atheists shouldn't be considered citizens of the US. He is, in short, a worthless prick and people he doesn't like I like all the more.
Rachel could put a beat down on him. She's so bright and nice, it's ridiculous. This is because the Bushes need unbelievable things to be true for their expensive lives to keep crashing down the hiway of the rich life. Bushes sold out the country over and over .
Hey y'all, don't try to argue with this FOOL he's just an unscrupulous troll. He's just contaminating the discussion with deceptions and distractions for gullible feeble minds to see. KILL YOURSELF TROLL!!!
Damn! It's like he's only just now decided to watch some "liberal media" and got disgusted of the mess he's made; not even realizing it's his own god damn mess. He should have kept his old self ignorant the way them unscrupulous sociopaths at Fox do. They be damned if they see something that cause them to have any conscience or concern for the "pathetic desperate willfully ignorant common folk." There's just to much money in deception. They'd rather die with no conscience. DECEIVERS = DEVILS

Anyone who expects actual news from these shows is completely misguided.

the liberals are the ones who are devolving this debate into a hateful yelling contest where conservatives like beck and hannity are saying "calml down lets have a civil discussion" while brownshirts like olberman and maddow use hateful smeart attacks to try to discredit free speech and patriotism, during the election mccain NEVER used personal attacks against obama or anyone else, but obama wasnt kind enough to return the favor by calling mccain a traitor, learn some civility libs

I like Olberman and Maddow, but I really do think they are too much in the pocket of the left. The difference between what they do and what Fox does, is that they make it clear it is opinion, and don't try to organize hatred for the other side. They just ridicule the other side.
IdleGod 2 years ago 2
It isn't Maddow or Olberman's fault that HW Bush's son was such a failure! It's not their fault that Bush/Cheney lied to take us to war, that they ignored intel that could have prevented 911, that he sat at his ranch and partied as the ppl died from Katrina, that they tortured. I could go on and on. Bush/Cheney are responsible for their own mistakes. They earned the lowest approval rating of any President/Vice President in history. Even as Faux carried their water.

Olbermann has the most bizarre delusional logic I've ever heard. according to Keith the reason he's the most smug, arrogant, egotistical, hateful, childish, cowardly, obnoxious bratty slob on cable news today is all George HW Bush's fault. that makes as much sense as him claiming that his show is #1 if you disregard every single show on FOX News.

then why did you say this:
"kids have to learn right from wrong, and eternal support does not do that. "
when bush is 62.
chefawkes 2 years ago
... okay, this isn't difficult.
Understand?
DeadlyChinchilla 2 years ago
i'll defend my son as well, but by the time my son gets to his 60's and was president of the united states, than he has to fight his own battles.

now is obama a better president then bush? i would say yes. the real question is is obama effective? i would say no. regardless of what you thought of bushs policies( and i thought him wrong accross the board) or the legality of things bush did(much of which i thought was illegal, where's the investigation eric holder?) bush was effective in getting his polices passed. obamas constant wanting to be bipartisan is not working, republicons just keep saying no. time for obama to grow a spine...

Kemorowolf 2 years ago
While you do make a good point, it would have been far better if Bush hadn't had a spine either. I wouldn't go that far, either. He had maniacle underlings that made sure to get the most extreme vision passed possible. All he did was sit at his desk planning raids on the kitchen while Cheney and Rove acted as his spine.
DeadlyChinchilla 2 years ago 2
i know what you mean but with obama it is amounting to nothing much, yes he's better tham nush yet he has no spine and neither do any of his underlings. they could pass some legislature that might actually help if they get thier heads out of thier asses and drop the let's be bipartisan bullshit. the republicans don't want to be bipartisan. they want what they want regardless of anyone else. so obama and his administration need to start ramming stuff thru like the bush admin did...
hellshade2 2 years ago
and not everything obama wants is necessarily good either. if we got a public option for healthcare it would be good but we're not because he's so concerned about being bipartisan. also ending both wars today and bringing home the troops would have freed up money for healthcare if he was really serious about healthcare reform. obama is great at making speeches bu seems to run short in the getting things done department...
hellshade2 2 years ago
My only answer is that Obama has been in, what... 9 months now? Bush had 8 YEARS to screw things up. Give the man a full presidential term before you regard him as ineffective.
DeadlyChinchilla 2 years ago 3
grantedthings may change all i can tell you is what i see right now. are you going to make excuse for obama just like all the bushies made for bush? so far obama has been ineffective you can agree or disagree. all i'm saying is i hope he gets off his ass and actually accomplishes something. all he does is talk so far. take it as you will....
hellshade2 2 years ago
Don't get me wrong, I'm frustrated with his inaction. He said he would do many things, and quickly, and those many things seem more like few. I realize the healthcare battle is huge, but the president should keep his word.
And don't tell me I'm making excuses, I more than recognize his inactivity. As someone who's lost family and friends in Bush's wars, I still long maintain that a less-active Obama is a godsend in comparison to a bash-his-way-through Bush, hands down.
DeadlyChinchilla 2 years ago
and yet you make excuses for obama, if you agree with what he is doing then what is wron with pushing thru his policies like bush would have? this does not make him george bush if he is actually trying to help americans. bush was not ,bush was a self serving fool that only cared about his wealthy friends. obama needs to stop pussyfooting with republicans and get things done...
hellshade2 2 years ago
Again, not excuses. I've ALREADY told you I realize he has his own issues.
I get why you're peeved, but don't take it out on me. I'd prefer Obama be more active, yes, but I'd still take an inactive Obama over an active Bush. I'm not sure why this is so hard for you to get, considering how you feel about Bush's decisions.
DeadlyChinchilla 2 years ago
perhaps i am being a little hostile, i apologise. it was not my intent...
hellshade2 2 years ago
one other thing. bush was in office 9 months and was in office for 9/11. he and his admin ignored warnings about bin laden wanting to strike at america using planes as weapons. would you be willing to say it's ok because bush was only in office 9 months? you are either effective or not you either make things work or not.
the comparison is compatable and you can't use the excuse it's only been 9 months....
hellshade2 2 years ago
I'm not sure why you're being so hostile. Of course its not okay that Bush ignored warnings about 9-11. By that standard, by your logic here, Bush was NOT effective at what he did because 9-11 occurred. Its a contradiction in your argument, so I'm not sure how you justify that.
All I said was give the man one presidential term before you judge him as ineffective. I don't think this is too much to expect.
DeadlyChinchilla 2 years ago
i'm not being hostile nor is this example a contradiction to my argument. all i was doing by using it is showing you that you cannot use the 9 month excuse for obama getting nothing done otherwise you'd have to use the sme excuse for bush. i hope you can see that....
hellshade2 2 years ago
You also have to consider the mindset of our culture pre-9-11 and post-9-11. The high intensity stress we have today didn't exist before 9-11, so Bush "doing little" was kind of the norm. We'd had several "do nothing" presidents that will be forgotten for it. Bush, I doubt, will be forgotten... heroes and villians alike are remembered.
I realize this topic dredges up a lot of personal feelings... I have them myself. So no worries, I do understand.
DeadlyChinchilla 2 years ago
i just want to say one thing about incivility it's not restricted to one side. now i am not fond of obama and i totally disagreed with gwb and his policies but when it comes down to it the left was just as uncivil to gwb as the right is being towards obama. now in my opinion gwb was a horrible president, also in my opinion obama is not doing much better at least gwb showed some spine and pushed thru what he wanted. obama cannot seem to do this.neither is/was doing americas will though...
hellshade2 2 years ago
Btw, to anyone who is actually involved with the war on terror mess Bush created... as well as those BURYING their family members and friends... I'd say Obama is a godsent, effective or otherwise. As yet he hasn't insulted the entire world or started unnecessary wars, so he's a keeper.
DeadlyChinchilla 2 years ago 4
