I am currently learning the times of World War I and World War II in my World History class and although this is a debatable cartoon, in America they were trying to get soldiers of all kind, whether through serious distribution or humor, to join. So the way Walt Disney conveyed the German soldier's life is actually very creative and and believable from an American's perspective. It's also very interesting to see what media had to offer in such a historical time.

Mostly these were banned by Disney due to the imagery in general. It's meant to make fun of the Nazis but seeing one of their main franchises, Donald, hail Hitler over and over probably isn't something they're comfortable with on a brand level.

Plus, the cartoon depictions of the Japanese are equivalent to that of black minstrel imagery. It's pretty offensive, and was meant to be.

That being said- They should be releasing these. History doesn't disappear just because you ignore it.
