@CDMJDMHHC Oh, yeah! That feeling just can't be described! However, my .44 Mag has been tamed by me and I can easily shoot this rovolver with just one hand now. I'm very used to the recoil and I want more powerful recoil! Therefore, I'm now looking to get a .454 Casull and then a .500 Magnum! The .500 Magnum is now the world's most powerful production handgun and I want one! More is better!
Way to go evenflow80! Enjoy and be careful. Its a great handgun. By far my favorite in my collection. However, I'm ready to step up in rovolver calibre: I'm going for a 454 Casull! Either from Taurus or Colt. I may even go for the Colt 500 one day. That's the biggest handgun round in the world. A real monster!
Wow, a .454? Yeah a Raging Bull in that caliber would be awesome, but its probably best to upgrade to an 8" barrel in that case.
Never even though about the S&W .500 to tell you the truth. Its the first time I've seen a caliber where I legitimately wondered what point is there for it. IMO, all calibers have a use, but the .500 I really don't know. But hey, if you want to have the biggest, baddest, civilian gun available in the world, well, that would be it!! (for now)
Well long story short: A very helpful poster on a message board found the Raging Bull I wanted in stock in a gun store in Pennsylvania. I canceled my special order here, ordered the gun from there, had it transfered to my FFL dealer, saw it when it came in, and will be able to take it home December 1st!!
So any advice for when I first get it and shoot it? I know you didn't have any experience with the gun either so any lessons learned or advice is VERY welcome.
No, I do not hand load. I buy all my amo commercially. I much prefer the Mag rounds to those wimpy Specials. The ones that I'm seeing firing off here are Magtech full metal jacket hollow points in 240 gr. Very mean and nasty shit indeed!
Thanks for the response. I've been eyeing the American Eagle 240gr .44 Mag ammo myself, reasonably priced and available everywhere. If you get around to shooting those, let me know please how they are! I plan on trying a bunch of different brands and finding what I like the most.
Also in terms of enjoyment, what do you like shooting more? Specials or Mags? I've heard people say that Specials in this big ported gun are so tame its actually boring to shoot....
Hey thanks for the response buddy. I'm not sure if you handload or not, but if you don't, I would be very much in your debt if you'd let me know what factory brand ammo/load you prefer after trying a bunch out. I'm looking for a .44 mag cartridge that has lower velocity (recoil), for range shooting.
I failed to mention that I have now upgraded to full .44 Magnum rounds in my Raging Bull and this trip to the range depicted in the video shows me firing them. The feeling was incredible! Each shot was much more noticeable in felt recoil than those wimpy .44 specials. However, the recoil was not overwhelming. Just felt real good! Take my word for it!
Its awesome man, love your vids. Still waiting for mine to arrive....so ever got around to shooting the Magnum rounds yet? To be honest if those are specials in the vid then they're relatively hot Specials, far as I can tell.
Don't rush it, man. Let life play out at a normal pace. I can't believe my 20's began 22 years ago and now they are gone! Hey, don't be fooled by all this gun are toys bullshit because they are not! Me and my friends just like the fun of target shooting and we always keep in mind that you must respect the gun because they never respect you. They kill if not used safely. We always shoot at qualified gun ranges and always follow safety prcedures and wear hearing and eye protection, as you can see.
Love it! :-)
