this game has awesome story and great gameplay ;D you can actually level up and buy some upgrades with skill points you earn.you can choose from 4 characters to play with!and the best when you finish the game you can actually do a second playtrough with all your weapons and skills from first one!i highly recommend it to you ;D its worth that money ;Doh and the game has so much weapons that in while you wouldnt know what to do with them xD just like me :)

You dont have to be close to eachother but you have to stay in the same map. each map is big though, there are travel points connecting the maps, eg doors bridges caves ect.

there are main story missions that progress you through the game and there are side missions that give you extra exp, cash loot ect.

in splitscreen, you can run off and explore the same region without a radius. its just like online. you cant go to a different region that requires you to load it. and the gameplay is loosely prioritized like fallout 3. you have a menu screen, called the ECHO screen, which is much like the pipboy, and it helps you manage weapons, skills, missions, challenges, and a map.

there is splitscreen but i'm sad to say there is only vertical splitscreen. and it's pretty poorly made, for example when you open the menu in splitscreen and try to change weapons or assign skillpoints the screen is to small to show the whole menu window which really makes it hard to navigate

You choose one of 4 characters at the beginning and you play through the rest of the game as that character. You could always start a new game with a new character, but he'll be starting at level 1 and have to go through the intro quests etc.

everything in this game is generated randomly that is why they wanted you to install a small portion of the game onto the HardDrive. But pretty much microsoft said that they needed proof that it would drop game performance so much that it would require it. That is pretty much how amazing this game is. Everything is random nothing will ever happen the same twice. For All we know you could be fighting a fricken insane boss in the first 5 minutes of a map. Going to be one of the best shooters made.

It WILL NOT be erased unless the player chooses to do so, the character that the player has made will go anywhere with the player. Whether it is online co-op, offline co-op, or singleplayer. I'm not sure about Story progress, I am going to guess that story progress will stay only on the game that your character originated on... so, if you play single player, then get half way through the game, then you go to someone elses' world, and do a mission that is further or behind where you are in the story, it won't affect your account... like Fable 2.

ya like ammuze11 said, if your a level 2 and you go play with a level 32 who is almost done with the game, then come back to your game, you wont be almost done with the game like the level 32 guy was...then if the 32 comes to YOU as the HOST, he will play in your story, then when he is done, he goes back to where he was before...when you are in another persons game, YOUR story progress will PAUSE and not continue until you start playing alone or you are the host of a game with friends

the guns are created via a program in which build and labels the guns the same sorta program is used in quest and maps i believe drops are random you could get a godly gun 5 minutes into the gameplay from what i understand i also read that the maps are randomized so in one area you may have a mountain your friend may have a town
