  • I guess we all know you're home number now...

  • @0AboutTime IPhones suck. Catch up in the technological world. Android is the new revolution, and is 90,000 times better.

  • @EvanRobinson85 Maybe. Yet, Android is a poor man's phone with "0" cache. That alone is the "X" factor the iPhone has. Developers are mostly interested in the iPhone eco. Bet against it & you will lose. Enjoy your Crapoid. This decade belongs to Apple.

  • @dezzdev lol Dream on...... Android has much more going for it. Any REAL developer knows that Android has so much more potential. That's why there are many more apps and hacks for the Android, where IPhone... well... has much of nothing.

  • @dezzdev Oh.. Sorry I must correct myself. IPhone does have the lead in apps right now, but that doesn't mean it's better. :-p IPhone 500,000+ Android 400,000+

  • Not like Denninger to be sounding smug is it? He's calling for 'crash 2011' again today, just like he was 2 months ago. If he knew what he was talking about he might be dangerous. As it is he's just a caricature.

  • I just hope it's Replicant (100% Free Software), not Android as it is today.

  • No other explanation, Karl has lost his mind

  • A lot of people are dumb on here or there iphag users

  • Awesome, getting restless with stock but can't stand half functioning roms. God speed with the rest of the Rom. I can't wait. And for those of you who don't know what is going on this man has just put skynet online and the machines are coming for us.

  • I guess CM7 is android?

  • Android was bought by Google.

    big brother...

    google...does it do evil?

  • congats on your up successful upgrade of Droid.

  • - Sir,it is sophism such as yours that encourages profanity to take place. I did not state that I used the term - ILLITERATE - in literal sense, and your analysis should have indicated that to you, it was to be meant in the context in which it was written,.. as a whole, and not out of context as a singular word requiring a dictionary meaning.-In fact I would have granted the original poster more credit if he were able to create such a sophism as yours,... my case rests there.

  • @stevemacbr words have meanings and lacking any contraindication (i.e. written without body language or intonation) forces me to take your comment at face value. Which words do I assume you to mean as written and which words do I assume you want me to construe a meaning. Verbally inept may be what you were looking for... But hey I am just a troll ;) ... I am honored that you think I am capable of sophism. I personally don't understand why people care about profanity. ::shrug::

  • you might want to block out the phone number..

  • @blauschuh Prolly a google voice test number doubt it matters :\

  • What's up with all the ILLITERATES on YouTube,... that find they have to use expletives to get their point across or insult other users????... I don't get it.

    Grow up.

  • @stevemacbr What you say sir is impossible. [ILLITERATE : Noun: A person who is unable to read or write.] is not equal to a _literate_ person who uses profanity. I would say your comment was a malapropism. In this instance the aforementioned poster would appear to be more _literate_ than you in the sense that their use of English including profanity was more accurate than yours.

  • I postulated years ago that we might get to a Mesh network where cell phones channel calls between themselves. This is close and defiantly very interesting.

  • What's with all of the fucking retards confused about this video, people its custom software for a phone that he got working

  • what on earth was the purpose of this video?

  • I think this has to do with a piece of LOCAL NET / inter-WIRELESS phone software (app) that allows phones to communicate on-going messages & calls between themselves !!!,... you don't need the cell-provider infrastructure - so if the WEB or the CELL transmitter-receiver goes down - people can get messages through to a destination in a AD-HOC fashion,...

  • Man theres alot of idiots posting here.

  • high tech tools for communication...so great...except for the fact that no one has anything of any importance to say.

  • @kdenninger - Forget Motorola. Why not be a true American and do your patriotic duty by purchasing several iPhones to help keep Apple stock levitated. Every human being should own at least two. Don't forget to buy an iPhone for any pets you have as well.

  • It is a Virgin Mobile phone (prepaid) that has a certain version/build of Android ported to work on it. Just google Motorola Triumph CM7 and read. To those asking if is working without cell towers......are you kidding....do you have NO idea how things work... I mean really

  • Building a new OS?

  • Green shoots ?

  • looks like calling thru google phone system ?

  • I suppose you could put software in a cell phone/radio phone that could route and direct calls and text bypassing the cell tower infrastructure. Each phone providing a little functionality and forwarding/passthru.

  • what the heck was this about? did I miss something?

  • Says "video 5"... meaning there's a 1-4 .. probably private, and he forgot to "private" this one.

  • karl discovers cell phone

  • No net work ?

  • Communication without providers ?!

  • Wat?

  • Karl, why is this so exciting? Are you a cell phone operating system developer and just excited about getting it working?

  • What the...? What was that all about MAN?

  • It looks like he installed CyanogenMod 7, a version of Android ported to some unsupported phones, or some phones that won't be upgraded to the latest version of Android (e.g. Gingerbread).

  • Seems like he made the video for a large group of people working with him. Wouldn't surprise me if this is deleted soon. There is a danger with introducing new technology that can replace billion dollar empires however. Wouldn't shock me at all if Karl suddenly "commits suicide" with a nice letter beside him and this technology vanishes. Tesla and many others find out the hard way what messing with big monopolies can do.

  • I think Karl is poking fun at the fact that text messaging and calling using really cool futuristic hardware like a touch-screen smartphone is basically just using a fancy radio -- something more than a 100 years old. ... ... dressed up to look all "kool"

    ;-)

  • I hear these phones go well with whisky

  • wow, man...what kind of crazy phone is that?,,,where is the dial and the cord...where do you talk into...crazy stuff man, all like star treky

  • I think; therefore, I am.

  • Easily Amused?

  • ?????????????????

  • Can we just get to the punchline and you tell me when the world is going to end. I wanna make sure I don't miss it.

  • WHAT ARE YOU GETTING AT??

  • I don't get it...........

  • Fetion in China has been fully text compatible with PC and mobile phones for years now. Nothing new. You can text from your PC to any China Mobile phone for free. The calling bit may be something new - we need more clarification. But you can always use Skype to connect to any mobile phone via Wi-Fi. Free.

  • Technology exists? Um...did I miss something? Where's the punchline?

  • Congrats about whatever you are so excited about. Now could you pleas do a video to explain what it was?

  • @prescottbill ge gas CM7 ported to the triumph... with the radio working (phone)... good news for us triumph owners!

  • @MrAntinwo A neighbor of mine once had a gas powered Triumph. It was a Spitfire, if I remember correctly. Fun little English sports car, not sure if GE had anything to do with it?

Anyway, it seems like Ken is happy with his new cell phone. I am happy when mine has a signal and doesn't drop the phone call.

  • Come on Karl, tell me ya don't miss Cook county

  • How cryptic. This video must be the continuation of something that took place before the video.

When you talk about a working radio. does this mean you've found a way to make a cell phone work without the cell tower network? If so that would be pretty cool. It would be awesome indeed if communication lines could be established that couldn't be shut down by the feds.

  • @vention4wh a little backstory on this for everyone who is apparently confused... the Motorola Triumph is a phone from Virgin Mobile (US) that out of the box runs Android 2.2

a few people have been working on creating a port of CyanogenMod 7 (which is a community built distribution of Android 2.3) for the triumph and at these early stages almost nothing works... being able to recieve SMS and calls (even though it still can't do outgoing) is a big deal

  • @vention4wh There already are such communication lines, they are called CBs. Go back to some 70's & 80's trucker movies and you will see them. If you don't have one now, get one.

  • This is CyanogenMod 7 running on the Triumph, for those that don't know. Just a progress video. Being able to get text and calls is working now. Still doesn't have sound working though, but progress is being made.

  • ????? Am i missing something.

  • saw Warren Pollocks vid regarding his discussion with him...I hope to hear more from you in the future.
