  • Ahhh this is so sick

  • My God he makes it look so easy!!

  • i can't remember wut time this on i forget

  • i love watching spruce meadows it rocks:D

  • thats crazy... the jumps are bigger than the horse !!

  • isnt the record, 2.12 m? is there a video for that?

  • i love watching this. <3

  • how tall were all the jumps?'

  • I absolutely love his horse. It's clear that he loves to jump

  • amezing, and i love it the most cuz he has no bit in,

just perfect jumping really good :)..

  • I was there that night! Every year since then we've gone to watch the Six Bar. Usually the queens cup too! ^_^ LOVE IT!

  • Nick Skelton rated Chippison as one of the finest horses that he has competed against - According to Nick - "i have competed alongside Chippison for the past number of years. In my opinion he is a class horse with an outstanding pedigree"

  • love Russel and Nick Skelton!

  • this will be me one day.

  • This is my dream :)

  • I would be so scared to do that

  • wow, lots of gymnastic and dressage work to get there! my horse has done 7 in a row but they were only like 2 and a half feet tall. not 2 meters! thats crazy! my horse is currently jumping 5 ft so we'll have quite a long ways to go before a six bar like that ever happens.i just admire a perfect working team like nick and russel!

  • i love russel. hes my favourite

  • Awesome... That is all I can say... What amazing horses and riders... :)

  • Beautiful! My dream.. lol

  • That was amazing!

The confidence you'd have to posses.

  • A PARAAAAA ESSE CARA É BOM DEMAISS!!!

  • is russel supposed to be white or more a mouse grey?

  • he's grey...

  • kk thx (:

  • ur welcome: it's hard to tell from this pic but he's very obviously grey in other pix

  • Amazing work; I wouldn't ride over a jump that high but it's an impressive feat. The one thing that stands out to me though, is the fact that he used a hackamore on Russell. You don't see that too often and it's a great trend to start for jumpers of all kind. It would stop people from "catching the horse's mouth" over a jump; seeing that there's no bit.

  • Yeah, and he does a great job of giving his horse his head which hepls him get really high

  • Yes he does ^^

  • lol... this would never work with the horse I ride though, he would grab the reins from me and bolt, he needs the reinforcement of the bit but I use a gentle little snaffle and I give him plenty of rein over jumps

  • That could be problematic, at least he only needs a snaffle. :)

  • yeah... I used to have to put a flash on him but I finally got rid of tht: he would grab the bit in his teeth and run

  • i know you mean well but hackamore's can be just as painful as the bit....they put a lot of unnatural pressure on both the horses poll and nose. If the rider doesn't release properly then the horse still gets 'caught' just with a different kind of pressure.

  • I saw Russell compete at the Washington International Horse Show in the Puissance a few years ago. Hes a lovely horse!!!

  • oh my god hes awesome!! I would KILL to be that good and go to Spruce Meadows! unfortuantly i am only 11 and i have only 4 years of experiance :( but hopefully one day.

  • hehe great video!

nick skelton is abit obsessed with maroon, dontcha think?! hehe (i love it too!!)

  • lol atleast it doesnt look bad on the horse

  • super video

  • thats a great horse. and a great rider to go with it! russel is so pretty!

  • Ha! Kyle Timm, I used to ride with him.

  • When he was in parker colorado i was the barn in front of his, he was my bffl's moms friend and he went to our fourth of july party lol. Hes rlly cool, he just doesnt like shave ice lol and he isnt afriad of fire! =)

  • why doesn't he seem happy when he clears a round? hes just looks more disappointed but maybe thats just me... i would be soo happy!

  • I've got tickets to Masters everyday next week! Im sooo excited! Spruce Meadows is soooo beautiful!

  • wow.. i love watching that pair... they are amazing... Russel sure loves it!!!!

  • i jump my horses 5ft without bridles.....quick tap to change leads n a push to get him to move over

  • so?

  • Well aren't you cool. Quick, everyone shower her with praise and attention!!

  • dont u hate it when people are like that showing off and everything

and then u click on their profile and they absolutely NO videos of them riding

its like haha right I'm sure u do

  • foreverursmari, you should never push your horse too much. you said you push your horse over 5ft, thats not right, if you have to push him over it then he obviosly doesn't enjoy it... you can tell y this video that Russel enjoyes it, Ears forward, not needing much encouragement

  • I agree totally. ^_^

  • where did you get this video?????

  • where did u get the video from

  • HOLY CRAP HIS HORSE IS WEARING A HACKAMORE!

    i just noticed that!

thats amazing to be doing such a prestigous event without a full bridle on!

check 5:09 to 5:12 you can see doesn't have a bit in.

  • no, he has a hackamore, it's a type of bridle

  • well duhh a hackamore isn't a bridle.

    it's a hackamore.

a bridle is a headstall with a bit.

  • lol, sorry, i meant bit, my mind is kind of slipping ^^;

  • a hackmores a stronger bridle than a snaffle or something!xxx

  • Some horse are more responsive to a hackamore. It also shows the trust and training it takes to jump at this level.

  • i must that takes power.

my horse would probably give up after the fourth jump.

    haha

plus nick matched his horses fly bonnet to his outfit.

    thats a true show jumper.

  • phew that would suck if you got in wrong! very cool though!

  • I love the power this horse has. I was at Spruce Meadows for the last seven or eight years. One of my fave events too watch. Yup I sat though the rain the year befor a froze but toughed it out.

  • when are the spruce medows?!?!?!

  • Spruce Meadows is the name of the venue, not the tournament. The ATCO Six Bar is an event at The Master's in early September.

  • okg i wish my horse could do that!! i love th vid and the horse is gorgeouss!!

  • i went thereeeee i wanna go there agian it was so cool. i wanna jump there when im older.

  • I love six bar. It's my favorite competition.

  • Thanks for the video!

  • oh em gee, i totly watched that on tv lol

  • I LOVE SIX BAR!!!!!

  • this is freaking awesome!

i would so love to jump like that!

    Nick Skelton is my hero!

  • Eric Lamaze is the Canadian rider to watch for the next 20 years...best in Canada,

  • thats alot of fences! usually its only 3

  • errr no.. its called the 6 bar competition .. that means 6 jumps

  • it starts at 6 fences - they can only have five rounds, and generally they reduce it to 3 fences for the 3rd, 4th & last round (when the height goes up)

  • @funnyrun07 thats why they call it a 6 bar

  • awesome!

  • look at da scope on Russel!

    lol hes good!

  • pause it at 5:28, and imagin falling that far down OMG

  • Thats bloody deadly.lol...*stares in jealousy*<<<jk

  • that's super crazy.

spruce meadows is one of the only reasons i'm glad i live in calgary, i love going there. : )

  • ooh, you`re so lucky! I wish I could go and see it...

  • What's the height record for the Six Bar... Anyone know??

  • that was awesome!!! Imagine cantering towaards one of those fences!!! So impressed

  • i LOVE nick skelton and ellen whitaker

and i love russel and locarno :)

i love how ellen was right behind him on 6:12

  • It is the masters, I go every year to help with Breeds of the World. Nick Skelton won this year, again. he didn't get anywhere near breaking the heighth record though.

  • That is amazing. I have never seen anything like that before. WOW!

  • thats crazyness!!! what horses do for us!!!

  • wow that bloody last fence was hugggggggggeeeeeeeeee 2meters it lked like the horse had bin lifted over it by a craine :P lmfao x

  • That was amazing! Does anyone know when the 2007 or 2008 competition is? and where exactly is Spruce Meadows?

  • The 2007 competition has been run & won - I just watch a replay on our PayTV here in Australia...I wont give away the winner as I plan to recut a new video for it soon.

  • Spruce Meadows is in Calgary, Alberta in Canada. They probably have around 6-7 shows a year. I'm sure this is from the Masters which is always the 1st or 2nd week of september

  • povre cheval a la fin du round 2 il lui a mi un cou de cravache putin d cavalier kom sa devrai etre interdi

  • OHM i dont believe it!

I wouldn't even jump the first fence let alone the last one! Good job!!!

  • bloomin hell.....ud never get me near the first fence in the first round let alone the rest!!!! lol that was a pat, he does it alot, i dont think theres any hidden agenda.

  • magnifique:! jlé aime, surtout mon arkounet!

  • oops, i think i was talking about something else haha. yeah i saw that he tapped him after sorrry.?

  • plus my ass are you related to the whitakers and nick skelton, they aren't related at all. If you were realated to both, you'd be well known!

  • If it was a pat for well done, he would've looked happy and patted him on the neck softly, not him on the side he drifted to on his bum with a whip, I agree with 08emaher!

  • haha we great britain kick ass lol

  • omg im related to john whitaker how fliping cool is that ! and nick scelton !

  • amazing love russle ! awsem horse wish i had him :D

  • I always wanted to go there! But never had a chance to go with my regiment :( Kings troop that is :(

  • Stallions excell at this stuff. Their ego does let them fail. U can c the rider give him a tap after round 2 for drifting

  • acctually. iim pretty sure he was giving him a "pat" for going clear lol.

  • acctually. iim pretty sure he was giving him a "pat" for going clear lol.

  • At the very end of the competition we got to go onto the feild and stand beside those jumps. WOW. I can't even touch the top of the jumps on my tiptoes. I'm 5'2". It was amazing. I cannot wait until this year!!

  • I was watching this, at Spruce Meadows in 2006. Really, an amazing event. Is Russel a Dutch Warmblood? He looks it.

  • 2 meters.... that is absolutely crazy...

    i love it.

you'd need to be pretty brave to jump something that daunting.

  • I wish I could do that

  • FANTASTIC

  • That man is pure talent!

  • AMAZING

    THAT HORSE CAN JUMP!!!

Cant wait to do that one day

  • I think Russel is my favorite jumper stallion. He isn't a horse I would breed to, but I like him all the same.
