So I just watched the other Casanova staring Heath Ledger. While he was good in the role, the way they told the story...wasn't really telling the story at all. It had a happy ending and the real Giacomo realy didn't. This one included a lot of pieces from his memoirs and gave him a lot of charecter development (which he obviously went through in life.)

I think one of the reasons why BBC programming is so popular in the United States is the fact they limit their programming to using the same actors and the same writers. For instance you can see Russel T Davies wrote this episode. Then flash over to Blackpool and you have David Morrisey who also appeared in Doctor Who.
