If you want my opinion I think Good Mornings are more suited for shorter statured people that have shorter arms and longer legs. Dead liftes in this position force you to work at an awkward angle.
I like to work shrugs with back because it's a heavy pulling exercise that complements a back workout. But you could also train them with shoulders if you like.
Whether on not you get cut depends on your diet and cardio. You need to lose the fat in order to get your skin thin and thus reveal the muscle definition underneath.
hey man, is it ok to do deadlifts on leg days. like today i'ma workout back and tomorrow my legs and i'll leae the deadlifts for tomorrow becuase i dont wanna fatigue my legs the day before i have to work them out
Yes, you can do deadlifts with your leg workouts. The deadlift heavily works the hamstrings, hips, glutes, and secondary stress is placed on the quads so it's an awesome leg exercise.
Generally when your lower back hurts, it's a sign that your lower back is not in shape. Lighten up the weights and build them back up gradually overtime. You should also try doing high rep bodyweight hyper extensions as well to target your lower back.
@leemhayward currently i have stop taking supplement, and i find myself getting 'smaller' in size. Is there any method to increase the mass back again?
I understand you are more stronger and prolly know more about working out but as i saw you doing shruggs it kinda looked like you were useing your legs just a litttle
i am a beginner an just began going to the gym ,i was wondering i wanna put on alot of muscle mass an be a rugby player build, do you think i should stick to just big compound excercises first or do isolation for muscles i wanna work on more .
Hey Lee I want to thank you for getting me to learn a lot of things from your video.. when I start listening to vince delmonte, elliott, mike, you..... and some others I was a weakling who can barely keep his back flat at 225 deadlift and this week I set my new PR at 525 So thank you a lot for learning me a lot... even through im not into bodybuilding at all :p!
Nice! I would assume that you go your large neck (not including traps) from doing the wrestler's bridge or did you use a harness or some other form of neck exercise?
Hey, I'm 14 and I wrestle for my middle school, and im trying to gain some mass along with strength because I'm at least 5-6lbs under my weight class, but it's almost like no matter what i do i stay the same or lose weight. I've lifted weights for about a year now, but i stopped because wrestling made weightlifting almost impossible for me, my energy level is too low after wrestling to lift, and if i push it too much it's hard to practice and I have tournaments every week, Do you have a few tips
ok its a good exercise in ur opinion i get it. but posting this on youtube u may get a young teen in here that is going to try any and everything to get bigger it is dangerious i dont know why u put it in ur video i personally would have left it to myself cause it can injury someone for life if done wrong.
@leemhayward Yeah Cuz i was a wrestler now I cant do it anymore because im in a totally different country, i never had anyback problems because we used to dead lift n squat alot plus doin the wrestler bridge all the time. one more question does dumbbell deadlifts do the trick?
great video. I wanted to know how many pullups you can do in a row??? Aso, shrugs i usually do them in the bar is it okay if i go light and try to make my shoulders touch my ears. Or shoud i go heavy but when i do i cant go all the way up but i feel the burn?
Lee you only need pullups and bridge try to work up to an uneven pullup ie holding one wrist with opposite hand and a stand to stand bridge also push up with arms and hold don't go on head you don't get a full involvement of back good luck with this
Deadlifts are very uncomfortable to me because the bar keeps hitting my kneecaps and the patella tendon and it always hurts there the day after.
Do you have any tips on how to prevent the bar from sliding too close to your knees while still maintaining proper form?
I try to still exercise the erector spinae muscles by doing back extensions and goodmornings but I can't help but feel that I'm missing out on a solid basic mass development exercise.
@blaatschaap83 They have a special bar for that. its curved in the middle slightly so the bar bipasses your shins and knees, most gyms dont have it but you can probably find it at a fitness store or online. Hope this helps!
DO NOT DO STIFF LEGS instead of deads. they work completely different body parts. stiff deads are hamstrings. Deadlifts (based on your stance) work back.
hey lee, i'm really curious about supplementation. Whatever supplements you take (if you take any) appear to be working. I'd like to know because the supplement industry can be very misleading.. I currently supplement with Kre-alkalyn, jack3d, whey protein, and ZMA. Do you supplement?
Im going to try out your 7 week deadlift workout. Should I just do maintenance weight on the rest of the body parts and concentrate only on back? Or should I go balls to the walls on everything? By the way.. I added an inch on my arms by using your workout Blast Your Biceps! AND not only that but my bench also went up 30 pounds while only doing maintenance on chest! my triceps are huge now I’m sure that is why!!
Great job lee and to the unbelievers I have followed his program I went from 235-250 on bench 365-460 on squat 360-465 dead lift an 50-65 curls( dumbells) this shit works and go try the proton pancacks you won't believe how good they are
oh and also its been bout 3 weeks and it juz feels like an old guys back lol, when i bend down or anythin like dat expcesially when i wake up, so unno why maby i damaged somethin well lee plz tell me anythin dat i might have wronged my back, and also the day it happened the very next week from then i did it again i was able to deadlift till i got to my max and i cudnt do it cuz randomly it hurted again and i f**ked it up even more i think well it feels the same but unno?
lee i have something very important to ask, i do heavy sets of deadlifts, well its heavy for me ive been almost workin out for a year and i do 295 pounds of deadlift, and the thing is i seem to do it wit safe perfect form but unno maby i messed up or somethin but i was workin out one day and for no reason at all when i was doin my max my lower back felt like it was rippin apart but i was still able to continue it, my lower back juz felt painful like a old guys back the very next day, why? help
Lee, I recently bought the book Convict Conditioning from DragonDoor . com and it has a lot of bodyweight progressions to perform things like 1-arm pull-ups and such. Have you ever tried working toward 1-arm pull-ups? A progression would be performing an uneven pull-up with one hand on the wrist of the pulling arm.
@BrokenBrilliance When he is doing the wrestling bridge you can see his ribs. That is because he has a six pack hence no fat. Also you can view his videos have him on stage. But one thins is for sure, he is not fat.
Who the hell is that ass blocking the camera view twice, I hate it when your working out and people just happen to walk by and block your view from the mirror. Gargghh! Rage lol
wow i cant do deadlifts even if i use lighter weights my lower back just tightens up and i feel like im close to pulling something i dont think my form is the problem either because i try hard to stay in good form.
Thanx for the tip Lee. I was wondering why my back excercises werent getting my back sore, But when i do deadlifts my back is blown away including my traps. Kool vid

Chins is just another way of saying chin ups or pull ups. It's the exercise where you grab an overhead bar and pull your body up to the bar.
