  • you got enough "smoothness" and feelingness for blues jazz... playin this song is just like doin' love

  • had that guitar - sweet hollow body - great feel on the neck and sound isn't too bad either. Highly recommend this Ibanez for a budget hollow-body.

  • the background track sounds great.

    Did you create that?

  • true, id love to get that backingtrack!

  • how do youlike that guitar

  • I love it, great guitar for the money.

  • how can't you like a guitar like that?!

  • Beautiful guitar, and great lesson. =)

  • Hello Mr McGuigan - nice to see you. :-)

  • Why hello there Mr Morris :)

  • When I found my AF105NT, I was looking for a good affordable hollow body or semi-hollow body like the Casino.

Not only is the AF105NT a good guitar, it turns out that a bunch of my player buddies think it's a great guitar and it's become my favorite.

From smooth jazz and clean jangle with a nice bit of hair to a nice crunch to blistering rage all without touching the amp settings.

  • Nice tutorial. When I learned this song from my teacher though, the intro theme was played down the neck, including the first round of chords. This sounds a lot closer to the original voicing of the track.

  • Yeah, I've mentioned this before in the comments :).

  • Your lessons are great man! I hear some of my local friends playing this tune a lot--now I can try to do it myself! Thanks!

  • Not bad . It's not quite the way I do it though. Get the original music and you'll see some difference. Love the AF105. I have a 105NT. Had the pickup rewound to P90 spec. Put on a set of Thomastik's flatwound and it's a great jazz box. Anyways,,nice job . Love that Kenny Burrell stuff.

  • Thanks!

Do you play it down in the first position? Since doing this vid I'd probably go with that first position approach just to cut down on the 'bassiness' of the notes and chords. Still would love to see the man himself play it.

  • Well the original chitlins con carne is in Dm bro :D

i think it's minor blues, not dominant blues

  • Heya, This is a tutorial for the Kenny Burrell version from his album 'Midnight Blue' which is a dominant blues in C, the I IV V chords are dominant.

  • OH KENNY BURELL :D

i was thinking of the SRV version, sorry haha

  • No worries :)

  • Superb lesson finally I can play it , clear and helpful lesson more jazz please !

  • Tomscotland, check out SRVs version of it!

  • Thats a fantastic little tune, isn't it? I'd never heard it before. I figure those chords in a lot of blues stuff I noodle with - the only difference here is the timing, and the tone to a lesser degree. I need to listen to more jazz. Do another jazz lesson!

    great stuff btw

  • Good lesson. What Ibanez Artcore is that model?

  • The AF105 a great guitar.
