  • Gute Nacht sandmann

  • this is why she was called the finest singing actress of the century!!

  • The Great Leonoras .. Price, Tebaldi, Milanov, were splendid and can be compared with one another. But Callas's Leonora is sublime and incomparable.

  • dreadful - just gets through it -

    such yowling !!!!!!!!

  • I DIE WHEN I HEAR HER WONDERFUL VOICE!! MARIA CALLAS SHOULD BE THE OPERA QUEEN

  • JUSTONE WORD...MAGNIFIQUE.

  • Pecfecta interpretation of " D´amor Sull´al....I love it...why? always unique and ORIGINAL.THANKS.

  • Magnifique interprepation of Il Trovatore....D´amor sull´ali rosee....VivA Maria.. unique and original..

  • the beauty, the power, the drama, the life on and in her voice still here with us brava divina only you bring life to a role like Lionora the pain and sorrow in your voice cannot be compared to no other soprano.. even tho there is a Tebaldi a price also that did a wonderful job

  • Wonderful, thank you.

  • UNIQUE!!!

  • Wow !!!

  • Thank you!

  • I love it!

  • My God, the beauty of it!

  • She's the best! It's a pity she passed away so quickly.

  • @thefashionair

"Ον οι θεοί φιλούσιν, θνήσκει νέος" (The by Gods beloved dies young).

    Julian the Apostate

    Rman Emperor 331-363 AD

  • She's timeless. The love and support has not died.

  • Maria, you are a true gift from God!

  • As much as I love Sutherland, Price, Tebaldi and Milanov, Callas is just in another universe from her colleagues. One wishes Verdi had lived to hear her.

  • @Cramnella You are so correct.. this is a lovely recording of Il Trovatore. too. ! Callas was in a league of her own.

  • Maria, Maria, come back to us. We miss you.

  • THIS is why she was called "La Divina"! WHO now can sing such a line, and all the trills, too---who?

  • way beyond her

  • Simply perfect, from Music to Maria

  • God wanted to listen her close to him but let her stay with us some years before He called her back to heaven. Simply amazing.

  • A tragic hero a tragic life... maria callas....

  • Callas is the only singer for me who brings convincing life to Leonora, as much as I love Leontyne Price in this role it is Callas who makes the character a real, suffering, multi-dimensional human being. Price does have her moments, as does Tebaldi; Price's "lo salvo!" pleas to the Count, Tebaldi's "Perche piangete?" and explanation of why she is going into the convent.

  • Yes, many sopranos sing well this aria (Price in the first place) but we begin to believe that there is a real drama when we listen to Callas.

  • Simply adorable!

  • @neherenia08

lol adorable is not a word I would use to describe Maria Callas, maybe Anna Moffo =D

  • Such passionate force!

How can you not fall in love with her?

  • Just listen to the beautiful tonality of Maria's voice. Maria just brings out all the tragedy in this aria, so touching. Another master performance.

  • At 2:42 just unbelievable!

  • maria callas voice is the best. her voice is like an angels voice, I dont have words to express my feeligs. she is just magnificent

  • I love D'amor sull'ali rosee, and the Miserere. And she sings it the best. You also have to see the Paris 1958 video of her and Albert Lance (heard only) doing the Miserere, see how she acted it visually.

  • It's amazing how her vibrato is still sustained on extremely high pitches, that are in tune with the symphony.

  • A have no word to express my feelings.

Simply wonderful... Thank you so much!

  • Great presentation!
