The school board in this area was voting on whether or not to change the start time of middle schools and high schools. They were going to vote at keeping it at 7:30 or changing it to 9. The 7:30 people won the vote. Now, I get to have another sleep deprived year of high school. At least I'm a senior now and hopefully when I get to college I'll be able to get more sleep.
I was falling asleep in english today. I could not keep them open!! It was so hard because he was talking and I kept them open then I could feel myself falling asleep, then I would shake my head and try and stay awake, But next think I knew I my head was hanging down and woke up with a sore neck :( I hate falling asleep in class because teachers might think your being disrespect, And my teachers are really nice
These are all just excuses. Teens like me just need to learn to turn off the computer, TV, video games, and lights, and hit the hay a little early to fall asleep. Also, it is not a good idea to do homework or read in bed. When you do something other than sex or sleep in bed, you are programming your brain to stay awake when you are on your bed. So do homework and reading on the couch, not the bed.
can someone tell me if it is normal for a teen to have a "bedtime" of 9:00? my dad will go apeshit if i dont go to sleep by nine. plus i have to practice two hours EVERYDAY of piano. so i rarely have time for homework
I'm a teen and I have minor insomnia and luckily I don't live too far away from school but im a girl so it's not like I can wake up put on jeans and a t shirt kinda comb my hair with my fingers grab some toast and go so luckily my school starts at 8:45
for once this guy is kinda right, but i have insomnia so i may go to bed earlier but it doesn't mean i'll sleep. It's 22:32 at the moment on a sat, i don't catch up on sleep and i'm just getting into waking up for school again with my parents away and having to walk for 1 and 20 mins each day to feed my horses. I wish i could just fucking sleep
It'd be nice to see more schools start later, just 30 minutes later showed a dramatic drop in teen depression. The facts and reasons are there, why cant we do something about it?
the can sleep by studying and partying less.

Nice video but I'm not sure if he mentioned exactly how many sleeping hrs do teens need? (maybe the title is a little bit inaccurate)

When I was a teen I ended up having that problem to an extreme, but no one was very helpful or nice about it at all. Thanks for this video.
