this doesnt make sense! 600 words a minute is 100 words per second.
I just took a neurobiology exam 1 hour ago and know that the human eye receptors cannot distinguish changes in light faster than about 20 changes a second. Physiologically, the receptor cannot "reset" faster than about 20-25 inputs a second. So this product wont work, in my opinion.
@50kT : Wow. For someone who professes to do neurobiology, you'd think basic math wouldn't be a problem for you. 1 min = 60 secs. 600 words / 60 secs = 10 words per sec.
I have been following you for some time, so it was cool to actually hear your real voice. Now when I read your blog posts, I can hear your real voice in my head. I can definitely see how this skill can enhance all kinds of business endeavors.
how many would like to know what that secret is? now, I'm sure you wanna know what it is, right? Do you really wanna know? How enthusiastic are you about learning this secret that will make you read the library of congress in a weekend? Twice? I'm not kidding, this secret is powerful, many people in the past were persecuted for knowing this secret that all the great minds like Einstein, Mother Theresa and Thomas Edison, to cite a few, knew by heart.
Rapid Reader is qte but if you want to learn professional speedreading try the reader's Edge is far out the best speed reading software...rated 3 x in a row as best speed reading software. Developed by Richard Sutz ...the right hand of Evelyn Wood who invented speed reading!
wouldn't u now that u would have to buy something and this is kind of useless any way because what the fuck can this do for you hey guys we didn't win the lotery because I didn't buy any tickets I bought a Rapid Reader kit but on the bright side I can read my harry potter books like 400 times faster lol

Oh, by the way: The guy not only LOOKS like Tom Cruise, but Tom Cruise even PLAYED the role of a person like this one ("You all wanna know the secret, right?"): namely, in the film "Magnolia".
The technology that Tom Cruise is describing here is called a Tachistoscope, and it had been heavily used in psychological experiments since the mid 19th century: so it's not an invention of either the Tom Cruise guy, or his firm. Software solutions for speed reading with a Tachistoscope can be found for free on the Internet - just google the term and save 50 $.

This is so retarded. People should not pay for knowledge. There are so many greedy people that don't want to share knowledge that may benefit the society greatly. Because of this, our society is only slowly growing, when the rate can be faster.
i doubt people's speed reading skills due to their grammar skills. if you could really read 600 words per minute, you should be able to read a 1000 page book within a 5 days
wow. when is some nerd going to really teach me how to speed read???!!!??? what is wrong. i NEED to no this or i will get kicked out of college. JK i am not in college???

The very generous Dr. taught me to speed read at the Bootcamp last year. I increased my reading from 117 words to over 540 words per minute. For many that is not much, but for me a major break through. Gold tick, 5 star plus.
I read 829 words per minute!

@50kT It's actually only 10 words a second. Not that bad really as you focus on the main words. I personally don't read that fast but I'm up there.

3:04 is an oxymoron. "They read 600-900 words per minute, every 60 seconds."

@MW2mikey5527 That's not an oxymoron. An oxymoron is a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction.

i can speed read fast on screen not on paper thought why is that? someone reply
chrislukebt 2 years ago
Same with me, I think that is because I practice with a computer and my eyes get use to the size of the text. Try reading more printed material.
fyescas777 2 years ago
Fast reading is pointless is you don't grasp the ideas to fully understand what you are reading.
NinkaPanda 2 years ago
ha ha, you're soooo wrong. you confuse reading with vocalizing. and 600 wpm is rubbish, 10000 is a lot better
adieden24 2 years ago
Research suggests that quicker reading leads greater understanding. No citation present, will find it though...
