Dupont was not the first Trial freestyler, there was Jean Pierre Goy, Jason Finn, christian Phiffer etc who were doing this shit years ago, Dupont is not a good rider, the film work is fantastic, imagine if Toni Bou went filming with the filmakers of this production.

315 is about 6 kilos heavier and has much more flywheel efect and is much better engineered than a gasser. kichstart and main gearbox dont break on a 315

i've had no gearbox problems with my gasser, but there is a major design fault with the way the air fitler and intake have been arranged, as in the last 12 hours of riding i have on two seperate occasions pulled a hefty amount of dirt and grit from the carb. It gets into the float chamber and blocks the jets, and lines the venturi and even gets in the dash pot.

I did so, and gave it a full service and its fine. I often clean out the float chamber, jets, reed valves and filter just incase. I've sucked in water to the cylinder twice aswell, but it always runs after I kick it out with the spark plug out. The engine is sound as ever, but i should probably be more careful when fording rivers etc. I am quiute an over-ambitios rider, but the bike always puts up with it!

Gas Gas make their 2 stroke engines with a short stoke and wide bore in order to get maximum bottom end torque, which is why they sound so unique. I've got a TxT 250 pro, and it rides and sounds really well.

The longer the stroke the more torque you get, but it doesn't rev as fast as a big bore with short stroke and the big bore small stroke has more horsepower. Although it is hard to say with two stroke because "the inlet and exhaust ports" in am sure if that is what they are called on english can be placed in different heights in the cylinder.

Yeah, i think the ports on the 250 pro are quite close together. It is much differerent to any other 2 stroke engine i know of. A good advantage of having a short stroke is that it picks up a lot quicker, and as you said, the wide bore gives more horsepower. I'd never have any other bike than the TXT 250. Fantastic machine!
