What sad is I fought hard to get my son's in this district they been here since pre-K and Hamady Ele was the best Westwood Ele was good too but the High School is terrible i just had to call to see why my son's report cards were not sent home only to be told that they owe fines for books which I have no problem paying for BUT the catch is there fines from 2-3 years ago when my son was in middle school he is now almost out of school WHY so long MAN I NEED THEM TO GET IT TOGETHER UP THERE

Last school year ,Superintendent , Dr.Hunter-Harvill,made the decision to remove the Hamady High School, discipline program, that inappropriate move by Dr. Harvill, caused a great deal of harm last year,and was destroying our district.This year , things are back under control, we are off to a great school year, Brenda Battle Jordan,Westwood Heights School Board President.

This is not a School Board Meeting, this is madness. The Board Chairperson was unable to control the meeting - at that time the police should have started removing people. There is a time and manner to address the board, and for the board members to address each other. When the rules are followed, everyone has an opportunity to speak and be heard. Not every person's views are going to prevail, and losing a conversation is a part of Democracy. When a point is lost, the loser should be gracious.

In this Board meeting May/ 26/09 my board members was under control, what you hear is the audience out of control,and we did not have police on that day we called no one came, this audience was a set up,Brenda Battle Jordan, Board President.

Superintent Dr. Deborah Hunter- Harvill did not bring her new contract before the full board for approval I did the investigation and gave it to our Board Lawyer, i'am the only one who has the facts, and all meetings on video tapes the good and the bad ,as you may know we have lost ( 8) school board members (3 ) to a recall and the others did not get reelected all in one school year, Brenda Battle Jordan.

(2) The sup. at no time tries to calm the crowd, all she is interested in is her contract meeting after meeting , no wonder police have to be in attendance, thank God for our our no-nonesense, "Let's get the work done" Board of Education they realize that we have a product"our Kids to worry about, It looks sour grapes trying to cost the Community extra money for a recall because she received less than 30 votes in the last election.

i notices she didn't take charge. Allowing mob rule is rediculous. If parents cannot be expected to behave in an orderly fashion how can we expect students to be any better. In this case the students lose. It's very sad.

Isn't there a law about posting the agenda? Our agenda is posted clearly on our local TV station for a week prior to a meeting. That way if anyone has a specific complaint about something they show up. This seems like the same crooked politics that come out of Detroit. When these games are played everyone loses.

This behavior is embarrassing. I cannot say how glad I am not in your district. Why a board would hire a super out of a failing and corrupt school district like Detroit that is not being taken apart piece by piece I will never understand.

Why not hire someone from a District that works. Why does someone who runs the district need her husband? Is she not capable of doing the job herself?

This is supposed to be for the children.

BethysPlace, thank you so much for your comment, the sup.meet before the meetings, with the ones who will not come to order,we understand what we need to do, I'am the new Board President,and we have 3 new board members,and because( 8)members of the Board was in lock in step with this sup.3 was recalled others were not re elected,and the ones that put in a bid for a seat on our board have been chosen to deliberately come out against me, Brenda Battle Jordan.

This is one of our Westwood Heights School Board Meeting,on 5-26-09 this was on open meeting, we do have a public comment period,we are elected to do our statutory duty, surprisingly more emphasis is on being caught on tape and put on line,emphasis should be on our Sup. Dr. Hunter-Harvill deciding to have her Attorney involved , investigating her claim of harassment by the Westwood School District,board members,interest should not be on why we have her attorney at our board table,wake up.

Dr.Hunter- Harvill was not harass by any of our board members,as you can see on this video ,one member was saying" We need you (Dr. Harvill) to give us a full report on scheduling problems from the fall of 2008",before he was done ,a public comment was made out of place by NAACP member Mildred Jackson claim board president Brenda Battle Jordan ,let a man attacks ,Harvill,because, he was talking to loud, you hear his volume,this meeting had to end because public member did not come to order.

The voice that you hear the loudest, is that of NAACP member Mildred Jackson,the one who only received 27 votes in her bid for a seat on our school board, on 6-5-09 Mildred Jackson filed for a Recall against me , she want to help Sup.Hunter-Harvill but it's to late, Brenda Battle Jordan.
