Has anyone ever seen the Don't Forget to Watch the Movie policy of Sesame Street at Loews Theatres in spring 1994 before the Animaniacs short called I'm Mad and Thumbelina began?
Wow this takes me way back...thank you for posting this! I remember seeing before movies and all excited because of Jim Henson's presentation on what NOT to do in a movie theater!
@ArticaSkylarKennedy Space Jam 101 Damatians Matilda Hunchback of Notre Dame Mighty Ducks 3 James and the Giant Peach Harriet the Spy Flipper Dunston Checks In Fly Away Home
Wow!!! I wish that I lived in America, just so I could go to the cinema and see this before a movie. You guys know how to do things with style, which is exactly what a trip to the cinema needs! God bless you!
I LOVED that! I used to watch The Muppet Show, and Sesame Street, my niece used to watch Fraggle Rock, and now they show these cute muppet characters on Sprout every night. I love hearing A La La Lullaby.
I think it's virtually impossible to do surfing, dancing with bears, singing grand opera, munching on chairs, doing seal impersonations, stuffing popcorn in your tuba, ripping off your buddy's nose and sticking it on some random stranger's face, operating a jackhammer, farting, making entire audiences disappear in a movie theater obviously
Anyone remember the Loews policy trailer from the mid 90's (I'm guessing this time)? It was old movie clips montaged together for each policy, like Hungry...and then there was a clip of Slimer from Ghostbusters eating a plate of food. Other clips were from From Here To Eternity, Network and I think ended with Peter Falk from Murder By Death saying, "I have to go to the can again; I don't want to miss nothin'." I wish someone posted that policy trailer too.
there's another thing that the Muppets of Sesame Street did as a bumper thing for 'Loews', it involved the history of the cinema, starting with silent films, talkies, musicals, color, widescreen, etc. it was pretty neat cuz it had Cookie Monster in his Monsterpiece Theater role, and it had I think Grover as a cowboy with an actual cow or bull saying 'This town ain't big enough for the both of us' several times until it broke out into a musical number.
Something wrong with the speed? It looks like it's in fast motion and doesnt seem to be matching the sound. Either that or my computer is possessed...
Man, this is some policy. No talking, smoking, littering, surfing, dancing with bears, singing grand opera, munching on chairs, doing seal impersonations, stuffing popcorn in your tuba, ripping off your buddy's nose and sticking it on some random stranger's face, operating a jackhammer, farting, making entire audiences disappear...and forgetting to watch the movie.

Beats the hell out of the policy they show at my local theater.
Who shouted that last "Let's go!" that triggered the other Muppets to chant 'MOVIE! MOVIE! MOVIE!'? It looked like Herry since he appeared to be moving around a bit at the time it was said.
That policy trailer with the old movie clips strung together about not eating and smoking was fantastic. I wonder if it'll ever pop up again. "I gotta go to the can again; I don't want to miss nothin'."
I wish they bring back the other sesame street trailer "A Breif history of motion pictures" where cookie monster with marshl Grover and Fred the Wonder Horse about the movies though hostory.
i guess this is the only Loews related trailer on youtube, and the most popular. I would love to see the Thank You For Coming to Sony policy trailer back when Loews changed its theaters to Sonys before the Loews Cineplex merger began. You know, the one with the old movie clips from Sony's library? How about the THank you for coming to loews ads from the 80's!!!
This reminds me of the beginning of the 1979 family classic, The Muppet Movie! Muppet King Jim Henson was a Visionary, a Genius! May he always rest in peace in heaven!
Eric Jacobson has been chosen to perform Guy, but it doesn't seem to be perminant. And it was only for a couple promotional spots as well. However, they could have silently kept him as part of the audience. There are some rare characters here, like Mr. Between and Biff the construction worker. And a Dragon used from an unsold Henson produced TV pilot.
They ran this when I went to see the (horribly enhanced) remake of Star Wars! --except it was backwards and upside down, because the moron who spliced it onto the Star Wars print and put it on the platter did so "tails out" >.<
Strange. Very strange. Especially for a policy trailer. This is probably one of the longest, at almost 2:30! Still, you gotta give these guys credit. It's decent for its time.
It must be quite a few years old. They don't even mention "Don't record or videotape the movie, and if you see anyone else doing so, tell an usher right away." That's the only policy trailer they run at the movie theatres I go to.
"It must be quite a few years old. They don't even mention "Don't record or videotape the movie, and if you see anyone else doing so, tell an usher right away." That's the only policy trailer they run at the movie theatres I go to."
Well, going by certain clues, like what characters are there, what some of them look like, and the fact that the logo still says "CTW" (today it says "123"), I would place this in the mid-90s.
Back when this trailer was shown, i was watching movies EXCLUSIVELY at Loews theaters (( when there was a cheaper movie theater just 2 miles down the street )). 'Figured if the movie sucked, at least i got to see the muppets. Thanks so much for uploading this. 'Rumor is, this trailer will be included on the Muppet Show season 2 DVD. Boy, i hope so....
I've been looking for this for about 5 years!! I saw it once in the theatre and hoped to see it again... when it was done it got the biggest fuckin' applause..everyone loved it. It was a really positive way to express the rules and made everyone laugh so hard...especially when they told the seal to "not do this!" people were giggling for the longest time afterwards.
There’s Sesame Street characters in that policy trailer. What if small children come to a Loew’s movie theatre to see a movie, they could see Big Bird, Elmo, Grover, Bert & Ernie, Cookie Monster on a big movie screen rather than seeing them on TV.
