Hi I did the rrod fix and when I did the reset to get the 2 lights pulled the plug, let it cool down, and now there are no light at all, only when I press the controller sync button does the light flash in the normal way, but the controller never gets a successful place, any ideas? is the board screwed?
i got all red rings and it shorted out my power but i don't know if it was the Xbox but i turned it back on and it still had the red rings so i unplugged it that didn't work and while i tried unplugging it again it fell like 4 feet to the floor and i plugged it in again and it worked perfectly.

Everyone seems to claim that they have a single full proof method of fixing the R-RoD. "It's cheaper than sending it back to microsoft lolz". I went through a process nearly identical to this in order to fix my 360's r-rod. It didn't fix shit, after spending money on useless methods like this I simply exchanged my AC adapter and haven't experienced a problem since. The r-rod isn't a single issue and people should stop claiming that it is.
Either your video cable is not fully plugged into the back of the xbox or your power is not all the way in. Just go to the back and make sure they are in properly.
i just turned mine off... it worked. when it wouldn't turn off, i tried to unplug it. when i touched the transformer(the thing that regulates power input), i got burnt on my right index. hope my situation helps.
Do the newly released 360's still have the RROD problem? I got that shit, and unless my friend gets in contact with this dude out here that will fix it for 10-15$ I'm gonna have to buy a new or used one. alright, so i've done the x clamp mod, ive put the pads on the backs of the chips on the backside of the mobo, i've done the heat gun trick, and im still getting 3 red lights. if i try to check the code, nothing happens, the lights just continuously flash without hesitation. where do i go from here?
ive tried that too man, i did the towel trick (wrap it in towels, let it run for 25 min, take it out turn it off and let it cool for another 10, still nothing.

- The big heatsink is the CPU
- The small heatsink under the DVD-DL drive is the GPU
And the X-Clamp fix will only work for a while. It is NOT a permanent fix !
Once you have the RROD, your screwed ...
To get your Xbox 360 back to full and correct working order you MUST send it back to Microsoft.
They will then update your Xbox to their new Jasper motherboard and with the 65 NM (Namometer) CPU / GPU's and a 150 Watt PSU

6.allow everything to cool off for 10min
7.reattatch fan

Nope. If all 4 lights are lit these are the only 2 culprits unless your cables are dead or your power supply is messed up, but that is unlikely.
It is the 3 lights that is the deadly one. That means hardware failure. 4 just means something is unplugged.

Do the newly released 360's still have the RROD problem? I got that shit, and unless my friend gets in contact with this dude out here that will fix it for 10-15$ I'm gonna have to buy a new or used one. I'm leaning towards used since I'm poor, but if the new shits don't have this problem I'll probably waste the 300$.

dude instead of paying for xbox live mabey 40$? get a ps3 ....some good games (gta4, assasins's creed, killzone, prince of persia, gta 4/5) , some bluray movies, and then conect with internnet and theyre....u got playstation network...then go on cod4/5 and play online..imagine theres way more people on PN thn XBL

alright, so i've done the x clamp mod, ive put the pads on the backs of the chips on the backside of the mobo, i've done the heat gun trick, and im still getting 3 red lights. if i try to check the code, nothing happens, the lights just continuously flash without hesitation. where do i go from here?

omg yes its Wi-fi from my router, you need to have an internet connection but after that you dont need to pay anything else. You also have movies, Epic games, HD Up to 1080P, 160GB and there are always thousands of people playing online on PS3.

Exactly my point. 360 is better than PS3 hands down. Btw, Ps3 has only about 3 Epic games, the rest are garbage. Ps3 plays movies that you have to buy at the store, 360 has Netflix. And there are 5x more people playing 360 online then PS3 online.
