  • Daang! This is a freakin' good video! Everyone always uses that guard pass on me and I struggle defending it! Thank you so much for posting this video!!! I'm going to subscribe to you guys now!!! Thanks, Brian and everyone else at TakingItToTheMMAT!!!

  • Thanks for post!

  • i guess it's a posture break but i'd rather be in the closed guard then the high guard kinda stupid

  • It's worth remembering high guard or rubber guard is as much to do with positioning as anything else. I'm fairly flexible but I prefer to move my hips slightly so I don't torque my knee any more then necessary.

Drysdale touches briefly on posture breaking in his rubber guard series but also the importance of controlling the head with your hands almost in a clinch until that high guard is in place.

  • thanks brotha! i love you guys' videos! haha

that last sentence was tricky to write =]

  • i like how he snuck that rubber guard in there. these are pretty valid techniques

  • u had me at behind the elbows

  • Great video.

  • This is a good video.

  • nice ...good stuff but boy did brians leg look flexable /rubber when he demoed th rubber guard at 2:12 ...almost too pliable.

  • Excellent video, you guys are so good at explaining things.

  • Very helpful and techniques most people never think about learning.

  • Thanks. Some good ideas I didn't think about before.
