adding a sword is a fairly valid concept. unlike say sunshine which was just plain a bad idea to add a water gun as a gameplay "gimmick" which was quite literally taken as a joke for me. I think a sword has a chance of sucess if it doesnt compremise speed. guess we'll see how it turns out..probably wont beat the day stages of unleashed but eh

However, even though i never played sunshine it does makes sense for mario to have a watergun since he well... a plumber while sonic isn't a swordsman. Eitherway, the watergun was a stupid gimmick. hm true he's not a swordsman..but that being said he is in medieval England..but i guess the reasoning behind it is unimportant. Sunshine for me could of been a pretty good sucessor to mario 64 if they didnt rely on the watergun as much as they did..aka for 90% of things. i'll buy it like i did secret rings..and see how it goes i suppose..it's clear Sega has some kind of idea what to do with sonic from unleashed time will tell. Give us Sonic Adventure 3 >.>

Totally agree, i do hope for a sonic adventure 3 but as long as they make sure to do it justice. I never played shunshine but it is clear that it was a disappointment to a lot of fans. However, i do feel nintedo got the hint with galaxy. Which i absolutely love. If sega can give sonic the 'galaxy' treatment then all will be well. I'm sure they'll get the perfect formula again, i can wait :)

yeah i mean some people like sunshine but it just felt degraded from 64 for me..i liked galaxy..my only gripe with it was that the combat was reduced to spinning the wii mote and running into the enemy to kick them to death..no button pressed combos anymore but i cant complain really the platforming is what counts and it did it in spades for galaxy.

I prefer galaxy over 64. Only because i was more into zelda when i used to have 64. I only seriously played t on the ds which was a bit lame as you started with yoshi instead of mario. That's cool though, it's great to hear a different opinion on it. I might give 64 another go. With sonic games i'm more into handhelds at the moment i enjoyed rush and im playing through sonic advance 3 which is barrels of fun to say the least. Btw, what is your opinion on sonic unleashed? I'm thinking of getting.

I also enjoy the handheld sonic games most currently but as for sonic unleashed..it's hit or miss..if you can put up with the 20 minute long warehog stages then the game is alot of fun and challenging. fastest sonic game to date..basically uses the same premise that rush uses with a dash button of sorts. Grab it for xbox or ps3 though as i've heard no good things about the wii or ps2 ones sadly.

it's not a sequel, she's not Shahra her name's Merlina. It's not a SEQUEL to Secret Rings but you're onthe right track, it's a the next Story Book game. The young female and broad male are Story Book icons and play the summoner and antagonist of the story world while Sonic's friends are revised as characters ofthe story he meets. It is likely King Arthur/Black Knight may look like Erazor Djinn.

before much was revealed becuase thetitle was obvious it was a story book game (and the scret rings/ and the black knight) I figured it was a story world in which someone would have to summon him their. Genies float, that's how calmly she brought Sonic into her world. But Arthurian I assumed a magic user, and becuz of the previous game I thoguh it'd be female. When I found out it was a sorcerous named Merlina, I thougt she'd look like Shahra, I was right. Black Knight might look like Erazor.

Besides he's being a Knight he has to use swords, it's probably not against humans anyways. (they probably had Sonic say that in that game to "watermark" that SEGA doesnt not promote gun use to real life ppl while swords aren't even modernly used, but in this game he's not in ourtime anyways so it still doesn't influence the swords that DO exist in the modern world) o.o
