According to Krauss Nothing is really Something much more than nothing. Moreover, the entire cosmic sum of what comes out of something, that is really much more than nothing, cannot sustain itself, as the universe finally runs down to an ultimate state of maximum entropy and heat death, where it can do absolutely nothing. Meaning, that everything that is popping in and out of existence at a quantum level is an "effect" and not self-existing, nor it's own cause. Thus, "In the beginning God"
The point Lawrence made regarding the necessity of scientific education was simply stunning in it's logic and common sense. Any political figure who said something similar would win a lot of votes. Thanks so much for the upload.
He speaks so well, if anyone is interested he did a talk called Universe from nothing, it's an hour long here on youtube and is brilliant. I had to stop and reassess my entire existence a couple of times.
You know... Lawrence Krauss just shared one of the most beautiful talks on Richard Feynman. I'm completely moved and in a state of awe. I really have such a deep and growing respect for Lawrence and for how he put his heart into this. Thank you so much for sharing this vid. Lots lots lots.
All of these videos deserve so many more views! I'm embarassed at my fellow homo sapiens that stupid videos about cats skyrocket to the millions but sciencenetwork videos struggle for a few thousand. Oh well, you'll always have my support for what it's worth. : )
@Sarusource Hi, I think he is refering to an online bulletin called... thebulletin.
I did a google search for: "the bulletin of atomic scientists japan nuclear" and it is the very first listing on the google search. If you then look through it, you'll find various articles for the days and the month that Lawrence is sharing of... hope this helped.
@thedeeliciousplum Wow! That is great! You must have good ears; I couldn't pick anything out. Btw I am in Tokyo and have found it hard to find reliable sources of information so your help is really appreciated.
I agree about your comments about LK too. He is a great communicator.
"And by nonsense I don't mean, just, say, merely, you know, being Republican or something." Hilarious. (I'm sorry, I don't mean to start any political debate here, for it's not the place for that. But just found it pretty hilarious.)
@kjrunia the sad thing about this is that being a repub did not used to equate with being willfully ignorant and dangerous to the general welfare of America. But unfortunately, that's the state they've devolved to at this point. We can only work to help them to get out of that trough through education, especially science.
@DemocritusWept You cannot change the minds of Republicrats and Demopubs. You have more hope of changing the minds of Al Qaeda soldiers than you do of educating a Republicrat (more Republican than crat).
@WizzleThump Actually, I suspect that was Lawrence Krauss, who already had his mic turned on. Well, let's just say, as soon as Lawrence Krauss starts talking, there are no snide comments to be heard any longer.
@WizzleThump If you would have been patient and had enough interest, you would have known that it was actually Lawrence Krauss that was commenting, not the cameraman.

The first persons voice is just like white noise to me. Krauss is a badman though, obviously.

Thank you so much. It is always a pleasure to hear Krauss speak. It is a shame there is such a limited amount of videos on you tube featuring him.

Feynman Theorem on problem solving ,,,,
1.Write down the problem ...
2.Think REALLY REALLY hard ....
3.Solve the Problem .....
If only part two were as intuitive for more and more people and the world would be so different ....
