So I asked the company directly & the answer they gave me was there were to many 13 & 14 year olds last year & that they would no longer be doing IMATS anymore. The only thing I "felt" at the show was hot just like everybody else. It was over capacity & too many people in general. No need to turn this into something ugly. I'm a drama free girl.

I think kids deserve to be there cuz there is nothing like imats for teenagers who want to get into the art of makeup. I think "kids" should be allowed to go to imats. However I can understand how frustrated professional make up artists would be if they weren't able to get a product they needed.
I think it would be nice to set up an event especially for the younger crowd, since there's such a growing interest due to the Internet media. I'm kinda neutral on the topic, I wasn't bothered by it as much as others were, but I'm in a different situation then them.
It's good that Kevyn Aucoin is undergoing a revamping. It'll be good for the brand. As far as your situation with NYX, call the company, tell them the story, even reference this video, tell them that you need what you paid for. Don't buy a new one... that money! There's a recession, boo! LOL!! I 100% understand where Face Atelier is coming from. 14y.o kids at a PROFESSIONAL event is NOT PROFESSIONAL! They didn't want to deal w/ that, and it's understandable
Finally i have never go to any Imats event, but i believe people that go there go for TWO reasons, 1 to buy cosmetics in discount and watch the event and secondly to meet people like you!
That's what a lot of people are going there for LATELY. But that wasn't always the case. I think it's awesome I get to meet my subbies there <3 it's fun seeing people my age for a change as well. In the past, it was mostly an older crowd. So I'm not totally against it changing a bit, but I do feel for the people that don't like the change. Brands unveil their latest products at these events & if the right pro artists & beauty b/vloggers don't get them then word spreads less.

Honestly, the mass majority of make up artists receive no free products. They just get their pro discount since they purchase large stock on a regular. This show isn't really about just "selling", it's about building a relationship with the beauty influencers, aka the pro make up artists & beauty bloggers/gurus. Who then use the products on their clients & in fashion/beauty shoots, or tutorials & reviews. That broad influence is what they're looking for in the long run.
I did a Easy Hair How-To on this technique before, so far its the only hair tutorial I've done. Check it out, its super easy. I just parted it down the middle in this video ; )
I think also IMATS should stop doing their shows at Pasadena and move it to the LA convention center. That venue is way too small for the amount of people that attended. It was way too hot in there. It"s also a safety issue in case of fire just imagine all of us trying to run for the door at the same time.

It felt like all the oxygen was being sucked out of the room it was so hot & stuffy. They over sold on tickets & were over capacity I heard. The LA convention center would be a much better place for this from now on.

I moved this week and my new living room is bigger now, so there will be more space for my lights & they won't be so close to my face lol. I was kinda surprised this year, people kept saying there were tons of kids in 2010, but I didn't think there was that many. Then at this show, there were like tons of little "clicks" of kids! It was just kinda strange because it was never like that before, I could see the annoyance on a lot of womens faces at the booths.

The City of Dreams project needs funding and my submission didn't make it in time. I found out about it late & it got entered in the Partners Next Up Contest just minutes past the deadline. Its a shame because I really think it would've done well. But I'm still gonna try to pursue it somehow ; )
You should tell us not only what do you do for keeping your face and hair so gorgeous, but how you keep your whole body so gorgeous- how do you work out, what do you eat etc. Because in IMATS you looked soooooooo beautiful :) And you have a nice way of explaining everything simply and you realy know what you are saying, which is a nice change from other youtube channels.

Yeah it's pretty annoying when I go to get a foundation matched and the lady always gives me the darker color then the color I tried and find to be a match probly just because I'm Indian with black hair n brown eyes but I actually have really light skin
Absolutely! Funny thing is if I was matched lighter, then I could at least work with it and blend it in. But since it's darker than my skin, it can only be placed on my face in a bronzer like way.
California IMATS had amazing companies! Stila, MUFE, etc?!..I live in NY, and missed out on iMATS- they didn't have anything I was looking forward to.

imats should put an age restriction on their tickets as it is a shame that reputable companies are starting to view the show as adolescent... it sounds like it is being devalued a bit now.
@5cat3 I think it's a shame it scared off brands from coming, I was very disappointed. It was strange trying to shop there with a bunch of little girls. It was never that type of environment before. It's nice seeing our young subscribers attending, but it takes away from all the make up artists who truly need the stuff there.
I have also have fair/light skin and dark hair/eyes and I often find people match me to darker tones... I think they are just distracted by the dark/exotic features. lol.
