why is there always a negative person in a group that has to tear apart anything cool that happens with natureand human enncounters go play nintendo and eat your tofurkey
It's people like this that make moose even more dangerous to other humans. When fed by humans, they associate man with food. My dad had a scary encounter out on a Xmas ski with a moose who had obviously been fed by someone. This bull started nudging my dad's pockets with his nose and my dad's legs with his hooves. Luckily he was at the top of a hill to push off and get away from them. Please, people. admire them from a distance and respect boundaries.
I don't see why people think this is fake, it's clearly alive. They've obviously never seen a moose before. They're the cows of the forest, it's not that hard to believe that some of them are friendly.
@NeoTodesklingel oh yes.. I have nothing better to do than make up a fake moose. Look at friendly moose 2 does that look fake? why is it that people always have to make negative comments and just cant enjoy videos.
@mugwump6970 lol right as if that moose is not capable of standing still and looking in one area for 17 sec i see them do things like that all the time. Nice video. Tho if that was my state it's not good to tame animals or go close to them even if they let you as they would get shot easily by hunters or cause accidents.
@NeoTodesklingel I've hunted and been around wild animals all my life and this kind of encounter in inhabited areas is not unusual during winter time. You must be a city boy. The moose doesn't move because it's stund at the close presence and touching of a human being, wich is pretty fuckin dangerous, BTW. I think people have better things to do than make up fake moose, kid. It's pretty fuckin bad when all people argue about on YT is wether or not a vid is fake...
@NeoTodesklingel Guten Tag! I wouldn't go as to say that he's an imbecile...Just a little too brave for his own good, in my opinion...Auf vieder sehen von Kanada!
@NeoTodesklingel Yeah, and those things can run fast, too! There is another more fucked up video here, it's the first in the right side bar called ''friendly moose''. It was filmed not too far from my place. I suggest you take a look, you won't believe it.(figure of speech, of course, LOL)
I;m not so sure anyone is getting the real picture ... The Moose was fixated on something that we could not see in the video - and it did not view the man as any sort of threat but it seemed to be fixated on something that it DID consider a threat - perhaps a large grizzly bear and the moose was hoping the man would make easier prey - moose thinking ... I don;t have to outrun the bear , just have to outrun you ...
I've always wondered what would happen if you eased up on a moose and gave it food. I know they are not carnivorous so they wouldn't try to eat you. But I thought that they would attack because of fear.
Yea those horses like to pull pranks all the time, dressing up like moose and letting people pet them, they get a real laugh out of that. I suppose some people do not believe that moose’s landed on the moon either!
When I lived in Vermont, we were always taught that if moose were friendly like this, they were probably sick...they get some brain disease, not rabies, but it wastes their brain away...I don't know I just thought it was really strange to see a moose being that friendly...
@patriotgyrl65 - After watching this video a few times, I agree. It may have that blue tongue disease (or whatever its called) that kills off deer. I dont know though; Im just taking a guess.
@BoboBobbins ...Yeah, I see what you mean...but there is breath or air or something coming from the moose...IF it is a real moose, I would bet there is something very wrong with it...I do know that being very docile is one of the symptoms of this brain disease that they get. It is like something that deer get and makes them tame and kinda dumb founded. A lot of the deer hit by cars have it, cos it eats their brain and they lose their senses...it's really sad.
Anyone who thinks this is staged obviously can't tell the difference between their ass and a hole in the ground.I live a half a click down the road from these fine people and encountered the same moose..
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
fake, look at the difference between how breath naturally comes out(man breathing on the left) and disappears compared to the way the smoke just hangs around...
Well duh!! of course the man breathing is going to be different than the animal breathing. This is not fake. Real animal. its the same moose as in friendly moose 2.
@michaelh6 - Umm, its not fake. Large animals' breath is always like that when they're relaxed and/or listening (herbivores mostly - horses, cows, etc.), which is what the moose seems to be doing. Its to that they can hear better without the distraction of heavier breating.
@jblackrupert - Yea wild animals can be unpredictable but so can domestic ones. Horses spook and run over, trample, knock down, etc. they're handlers all the time (trust me, Ive been working with horses for 14 years). The moose isnt even watching the guy petting it. The man is standing still and not making any sudden movements. The chances of the moose suddenly attacking him, versus running away from him, are slim to none. Moose are prey animals. Their instincts tell them to run, not fight.
Not as much as a horse though. Sure if the moose lives around people it may of learned to trust them. Moose are very dangerous and can easily charge you with their antlers. It is a much more aggressive animal than a horse.
@mikaila31 - You've never worked with some of the nasty horses I have! lol jk. I agree with you that moose are probably more unpredictable than horses since they are typically completely wild. The point I was trying to make is just that domestic animals can sometimes be very unpredictable, just like wild ones :-)
You said it! :-) I have a Quarter horse/ Paint cross and he's ill-tempered. He bites, cribs, kicks, rolls in dirt right out of the wash-rack, sidesteps, runs people into fences.... but I love him. The moose around here in NH are fairly docile too. :)
You are lucky, they fear nothing and will attack without provocation. Beautiful animal but seriously treat these guys with respect , they will attack an 18 wheeler - I know this for a fact.
More stupidity by a person wanting to be injured or killed by a wild animal. This is illiegal in Alaska and moose attacks are far more common than bear attacks.
I agree. This is fake. The ears don't even twitched once. Nothing moves on the moose. I suspect the "breath" is smoke they rigged up somehow. That is not a real or living moose.
A moose was destroyed by officials in New Fane,VT. last week for exhibiting the same "no fear" behavior.Officials with En Con stated that it probably had a "brain worm".The parasite causes them to show no fear, but they die a slow death.Better to euthanize it...
i agree to disagree...it would be domesticated had he attempted to ride the moose. because then, it would have no longer would have been considered as "wild"
I am from smithers bc, where this was shot. My had a moose come right up to the front door. He gave him a pet and the moose wanted to get closer to him. my dad threw a carrot out on to the road to get him to go. I think the moose wanted to be adopted. lol. It can be dangerous but if a mosse approaches there isn't much else you can do but be kind and give some love. lol
You people are calling this guy stupid. But the whole point is that the moose LET the human that close to her/him. Maybe the moose could sense that this particular human was cool, and would tolerate or maybe even enjoy the close contact with a different species. Stranger things have happened! Great video.
Bearnuggets, speaking as a graduate with a diploma in natural resources (focusing on wildlife), both sexes actually possess a bell. The only true way to distinguish between the two is that cows have a white "vulva" patch just below their stubby tail. Antlers can also be used to distinguish males from females. However, a vast majority of males lose their antlers during the winter. I'd suggest you get your facts straight before commenting on something you know little about. Great video mugwump!
Hahah I like how people need to get there knowledge out there, very concerned haha. Woodworker3000 refers to this moose as a "her" when the bell on its neck only is present with males. Meaning its a him. Knowledge. Pet away.
He probably would have been seriously injured if this was a cow with her calf. I really don't think that this is a "domesticated" moose. It obviously knows that humans for the most part are not out to hurt it. Try to domesticate a great white shark.... go ahead try and pet one and see if it takes to you.
Is this dude stupid, NEVER TOUCH A WILD ANIMAL> A GAME WARDEN WOULD OBVIOUSLY TELL U THAT!! JUST ONE TOUCH OF THAT ANIMAL AND THE ANIMAL WILL ALWAYS COME RIGHT BACK CUZ IT'S TURNED DOMESTICATED LIKE A REGULAR HOUSE CAT OR DOG.
He must be pretty damn stupid 2 do that cuz anytiome during his encounter with hthis moose that moose could have charged him and killed him cuz it's unpredictable!
He's not exactly jumping and waving his arms around and yelling at the thing, no reason for it to attack without warning. Wild animals aren't completely unreasonable, they just give more subtle warnings than we're used to.
How he got that CLOSE to her is another matter, that's a heck of a lot more dangerous than what he's doing here.
U missed my whole point!!! My point is that that moose will no longer be wild it's oing 2 turn domesticated cuz this idiot patted this moose. THe moose could attack him for touching her cuz he's being careless. Never let ur guard down around any wild creature.
wow thats nuts! i saw a dude try to get close to a moose when i was a kid and he ended up with 3 broken ribs and needed facial reconstruction! But.... this freakin rox
The moose has brain worm. It doesn't matter if he associates humans with food he's not a wolf, bear, or gator. He's not going to be eating anyone. The danger of a moose is if you get in it's territory during rutting season. People can't get brain worm though many hooved animals including sheep and goats can. It's spread when the animals eat infected snails and is not always deadly. It is rarely deadly in white tailed deer. The brain can recover but may have lasting lesions.
brave, my uncle killed a moose like that, but first him and he's friend took a few pictures with it. then took a axe, wacked him in the neck. lafford and poulette.
If you're gonna flame the TOTAL IDIOT who's LUCKY TO BE ALIVE, do it for approaching a wild moose (because they are big, stupid and generally unpredictable) to snap pictures, THEN FLAME THE MORON TAPING "TOTAL IDIOT" FOR NOT STOPPING HIM! THAT THING'S REAL! AND NOW IT ASSOCIATES HUMANS WITH FOOD!
Lots of moose where you live? Moose expert? Mooseologist? Dr. of Mooseology? Or do you just like to bawl in all caps about things you know little about? Moose aren't that dangerous unless they have calves or are in rut. As far as food association goes, the farmland in the background of the user's other videos makes me think that moose has already figured that out...

He probably would have been seriously injured if this was a cow with her calf. I really don't think that this is a "domesticated" moose. It obviously knows that humans for the most part are not out to hurt it. Try to domesticate a great white shark.... go ahead try and pet one and see if it takes to you.

This guy could of gotten seriously hurt trying to do this.

Woodworker3000 3 years ago
Yeah, I think so, what people don't understand is that wild or demestocated animals are dangerous and unpredictable!
hubbadubchub 3 years ago
He must be pretty damn stupid 2 do that cuz anytiome during his encounter with hthis moose that moose could have charged him and killed him cuz it's unpredictable!
Woodworker3000 3 years ago
He's not exactly jumping and waving his arms around and yelling at the thing, no reason for it to attack without warning. Wild animals aren't completely unreasonable, they just give more subtle warnings than we're used to.
How he got that CLOSE to her is another matter, that's a heck of a lot more dangerous than what he's doing here.
jbxenia 3 years ago
U missed my whole point!!! My point is that that moose will no longer be wild it's oing 2 turn domesticated cuz this idiot patted this moose. THe moose could attack him for touching her cuz he's being careless. Never let ur guard down around any wild creature.

HOLY SWEET JESUS.....that hardly ever happens!!...great video!!

FullmetalAngyl 4 years ago
I agree

Lots of moose where you live? Moose expert? Mooseologist? Dr. of Mooseology? Or do you just like to bawl in all caps about things you know little about? Moose aren't that dangerous unless they have calves or are in rut. As far as food association goes, the farmland in the background of the user's other videos makes me think that moose has already figured that out...
